Suddenly in the midst of a Summer Festival--

There's a distinct sound of waves, and bustling of people nearby.

In the coastal city of Turnbloom the sun is bright and warm, and the scent of the sea wafts through with the cool gentle breeze that makes the glittering pinwheels spin, and the leaves on the palm tree dance.

Today the streets are extra decorated with these cute, colorful and floral shaped pinwheels. It seemed the people who were out in the streets were dressed in colorful summer attire--either casual, or the more traditional yukata. It seemed like with the booths were set out for both food and games for festival of some kind that was currently underway.

Just how did you get here, and why? A mystery, and it seemed the people in the streets didn't seem to notice anything out of the ordinary as they go about enjoying their time out on this bright sunny day.

The Festival At Night

It's night time in Turnbloom, but the festivities have yet to die down.

In fact it seems more people are out in the streets enjoying time together with one another and their Pokemon. Now it seems most have gathered around in clearings or finding a place to sit as they set their gazes up to the clear, star filled night sky.

In an instant the skies lit up as firework blooms taking many different shapes from flowers to Pokemon. People are letting out a cheer in response.

It looked like the festival was still going strong.

Much later after the fireworks in the city center a man in a vibrant yukata begins playing a particularly upbeat song on his sanshin as he began to sing aloud. It's accompanied by the sounds of drums, and loud whistling. A crowd is slowly forming as they're all seen moving to the beat of the music while swinging their arms in motion.

It looks like they were now gather together to perform what looks to be a group dance.

If anyone were to walk close by, any one of the dancers, even the performer was ushering them to join in on the dance.

Red? He dance

[monologing]

[Within the crowd of people who are dancing is this lad who looked to be enjoying himself. Although it's clear from the way he's observing those who are dancing, and the way he wasn't quite apt at it, that he clearly wasn't from around town.

Still, it doesn't stop Red here from facing the closest person who wasn't participating before approaching them with a wide smile and holding both hands out, indicating he wanted to dance with them.

C'mon, c'mon! It'll be fun! Join him!]

Who, me?! But I don’t even know how to…

[This isn’t familiar to him at all!]

[monologing]

[Red's beaming in response, followed by a laugh. Despite Trip's protest he's still holding his hands out right out to him.]

...s'okay! Me too.

[serperiority]

So, it's the blind leading the blind...

[Despite the grumbling, he takes his hands anyway, unsure how he ended up in this predicament.]

[timidlyblooming]

Hm? Oh, it’ll be my pleasure!

But, um, is it okay if I do a different kind of dance? Or will we learn this one together?

[It’d be better to learn away from judging eyes, Lillie thinks it’d be less embarrassing that way… but if they’re both going to be clumsy about it, it might not be so bad? Maybe?]

[monologing]

[Red looked puzzled. Another dance? The only dance he knew was the Bon Odori himself, but the people around him sure were moving a bit more animatedly, along with their arms.

Looking back to Lillie, Red lifted the brim of his cap to show a clearer look of his face. A confident grin soon followed. He wasn't about to make Lillie try and do the same dance if she didn't want to!]

....yeah, sure! Let's dance together.

[timidlyblooming]

[Then, Lillie will curtsy, then step back and dance... a waltz with thin air. It looks silly and isn't really keep in step with the music at all! Maybe she should just try something else?]

dang!! he dance too!!!!

[He didn't actually expect there would be some kind of dance party after the fireworks. But the way everyone sways their arms to the beat of the sanshin is kind of mesmerizing in some way. And he could even pick up the happiness and joy surrounding the crowd.]

This looks fun!

[And when Red offers Ash to join him, it surprised him at first, then turned to his Pikachu before both grinning at each other.]

Whaddaya say? Let's join in!

Pika!

[And immediately both Ash and his Pikachu approach Red. They're ready to PAR-TAY!]

two lads from Pallet Town what will they do

[monologing]

[Red beams at Ash's enthusiasm along with his Pikachu. wow, what a cute duo!

He laughs as he gently takes hold of one of Ash's hands to lead him towards the crowd of dancers. He doesn't go too fast, as he wanted to make sure Pikachu was close by still.

Once in the midst of the crowd he turned over to Ash and Pikachu.]

[He lets Red drag him towards the crowd as he just happily follows along. And when Red questioned him, he pumps his fist upwards while beaming.]

Heh! We're ready as ever!

Pika-chu!

[Both Ash and Pikachu are looking pumped up!]

Tallie just... blinks. She's more confused than unwilling. ]

... me? [ Not that there's anyone else around her - she's standing alone for a reason - but ??????? ]

[monologing]

[...oh!!! It's Tallie!!! Wow, it feels like it's been ages since he had seen her around.

With the way his smile grew and held his hand out still Red's nodding rather enthusiastically. Yeah, you Tallie!

oh wait he should say that out loud shouldn't he? He's tilting his cap up to better show his smiling face to his friend.]

Mmm! ....it's been a while, Tallie!

[lockedtrainer]

[ … Ah. She’d thought he’d seemed familiar. She hadn’t wanted to get her hopes up, just in case, but that voice - the warmth when he says her name - isn’t something she could forget so easily.

She wasn’t sure if she’d ever see him again, but now… ]

It has been. [ She takes that outstretched hand in hers, her faint smile already beginning to grow. ] Red.

[Despite having been told that there was a Red here in Ultern, Blue hadn't expected to run into one so certain. Certainly not right here in the middle of a dance. Certainly not looking so much... younger? Was he younger? Maybe not? It'd been a while since she'd been home...

Probably the whole reason she hadn't started dancing yet was because she was busy blinking wide eyed at him. When he held his hands out, she just starting blinking faster.]

[monologing]

[? ? ?

Why was she just staring at him like that? There were plenty of people who were joining along in the dance... oh, maybe he wasn't clear on why he approached her by just holding his hands out? That must be it, he didn't exactly expressed them vocally. Yeah, it totally has to be him not saying anything that was confusing the nice lady.

Red's nodding to himself like the dweeb that he is.]

...wanna dance?

[He tried once more, with his hands still held out to Blue followed by a warm smile on his face.]

Crys at the dance

Crystal is enjoying the post fireworks activities, finally getting some relaxation in after that confusing interaction with that other dimension Gold. Now however she's standing and clapping to the rhytmm of her song while her Smoochum is doing a dance on a box, maybe even dancing with someone else's Pokemon because Chumee is just that kind of cute and sociable.

Red too was enjoying dancing. The fireworks had been so nice and pretty, but the dance while simple was something new! Something different! Very exciting for this curious lad.

Speaking of curious he takes note of Chumee and Crys which had him making a beeline over to the two.

"Kris...!"

Crystal turns when she hears her name being called and spots a somewhat familiar character. Though admittedly she didn't know him that well compared to Blue or Yellow so it's not so obvious yet.

"Hey Red! It's been a while!"

[monologing]

Red gave pause thinking of her statement. Has it been a while? Yeah, it has been a while he thought while nodded to himself. He hadn't seen her since Mt. Silver, and he couldn't exactly remember the last time he had been there to face her challenge.

Still he couldn't help but be happy seeing a familiar face. Giving a nod to Crystal as a greeting he offered a smile.

"....having fun?"

Wants more Fireworks

Well, I guess the party is at its end. Dancing? Following the fire works? Can't we just get more fireworks?

[Red is sliding over to Shamus with a water bottle in hand. He's all danced out! Wait what's this about wanting more fireworks? He'll stare at the younger trainer before digging through his bag. There had to be a... he was sure he had...aha!

He's then held out a packet of party sparklers for Shamus to see.]

[Shamus didn't want to look too eager. But he was genuinely surprised to see someone offer him one.]

[After a quick glance away, he quickly looks back towards the older trainer and accepts his offer].

[Trip was too exhausted to go dancing a second time and anyway, that was enough socializing for one day… but, with a mixture of excitement and mortification, he recognized another face from home!]

Ulsai, Shamus…?

[Sorry, brain not responding, he accidentally defaulted to greeting him in Ulternian.]
