Suddenly in the midst of a Summer Festival--

There's a distinct sound of waves, and bustling of people nearby.

In the coastal city of Turnbloom the sun is bright and warm, and the scent of the sea wafts through with the cool gentle breeze that makes the glittering pinwheels spin, and the leaves on the palm tree dance.

Today the streets are extra decorated with these cute, colorful and floral shaped pinwheels. It seemed the people who were out in the streets were dressed in colorful summer attire--either casual, or the more traditional yukata. It seemed like with the booths were set out for both food and games for festival of some kind that was currently underway.

Just how did you get here, and why? A mystery, and it seemed the people in the streets didn't seem to notice anything out of the ordinary as they go about enjoying their time out on this bright sunny day.

[What's this? Is that a....challenge?

Red's expression becomes serious as he purposefully lock eyes with Ash. Alright, you asked for it! Let's go Hammy!]

Pika!

[Hammy springs into action as he too is flailing his little arms, with Red swaying his own from side to side. Look, it's like this! Like this!!!]

[NUH-UH! IT GOES LIKE THIS!! As he sways his arms and half of his body at a much faster pace.]

[monologing]

[Whoa whoa, excuse YOU! It is clearly like THIS!!!

Much aggressive arm swaying, and faster steps!!! Take that!!! He can move to the groove, can you!?]

[Wow OKAY! He can't lose here!!

EVEN MORE FLAILING AND SWAYING!! HE'LL EVEN DO SOME FUNKY LITTLE STEPS AND SHAKING HIS HIPS TOO!!!! TAKE THAT!!!!]

[monologing]

[Huh!??! Huh? What?!? Were those moves even allowed?! No one else was doing funky steps and mad beats (no one was doing mad beats)! Okay, that changes EVERYTHING!!!

It was time for Red to pump his fists, before he did the unbelievable: turn his cap backwards rolled up his short sleeves and swayed his arms wider, and faster while swaying his hips with each step. THERE! LOOK AT HIS MASTERY AT DANCE!

Meanwhile Hammy has stopped dancing to watch the two trainers with a sigh. Geez you two...]

[TWO CAN PLAY IN THAT GAME!

Ash too turns his cap backwards and just swings, sways and flails about but even faster. As fast as he could do. He'll even twirl around too for good measure!! SEE THAT? HE CAN EVEN TWIRL LIKE A PRO!!! no you don't

Pikachu meanwhile also stopped, seeing how much Ash is getting into their weird little dance battle. He looks at Hammy and shakes his head, seemingly disappointed by their childish acts.]

[monologing]

[Red is further shook. Twirling?!

UNHEARD OF...this kid...he's good. REAL good. Could he be? He had to be...a new ✨RIVAL✨

Red will also do a twirl, but a second twirl before walking backwards, and swaying (or rather swinging at this point) his arms to boot. SEE! Look at that, be amazed! He's not going to be defeated in dance!

Hammy turning over to Pikachu gave a sympathetic pat with his tail. So sorry about Red. He's just so competitive, really...]

[Tch!!! Yeah okay this guy's got the MOVES. He can't admit it yet but he's impressed.

Well he better make a far better impression than him!!! So he'll have to throw in his ULTIMATE DANCE MOVE. Ash SWAYS HIS LEGS almost like he's kicking and sways his arms to CLAP HIS HANDS TOGETHER!!!

Pikachu can't bear to watch this any longer. Instead offers Hammy to just hang out and maybe play somewhere. It's a better use of their time that way!

Ash you are such a disaster good grief]

[A hearty laugh may catch their attention as a man holding a drum will loudly hit it. He's dressed in a traditional dance outfit as he approached the two.]

Hoho! You two brothers are sure lively! But watch me! This is how it's done!

[Despite holding an instrument in his hands the man slowly begins to dance, while another in the same outfit as him steps in blowing a loud whistle in accompaniment to the music.]

C'mon kids! Let's all dance together!

[monologing]

[Red was just about to bust a move until the dancer stepped in. He blinked and looked over to Ash, and pointed at himself. Brothers? Him and this lad he just met??? Did they really look a like?

Maybe it was the hat, and the fact they both have a Pikachu. Yeah, that's gotta be it. He nodded to himself while watching the man showing a pointer on how to dance to the two.

Oh! So that's it, that's really simple!

Turning to Ash, Red gave a smile.]

...you were great.

[Ash also stopped the moment the dancer stepped in and showed off how their dance is done. Though kind of strange of the dancer to think he and Red are brothers. Are they? What makes them think so? It's probably the hat-]

Ohhh... So that's it!

[Now seeing the dance, that doesn't look too hard!

When he heard Red speak up, Ash catches his gaze and smiles back.]

You were just as great too!

[The Dancer seemed pleased seeing both Red and Ash starting to dance. He bellowed out another laugh as he returned to drumming.]

That's more like it! Iya sa sa sa! Brothers should be having fun with one another!

[monologing]

[They're being called brothers again. So strange, but oddly Red didn't mind so much. With his attention over to Ash, he held his arms back out again. Just as he was about to start dancing a thought struck him.

He didn't even know boy's name!]

....'m Red! You?

[Heck yeah, he's ready for another round of dancing when Red introduced himself. Oh that's right! He didn't introduced himself either.]

I'm Ash, from Pallet Town! Nice to meetcha Red!

[He grins.]

[monologing]

[Pallet Town? Wow, he's from Pallet Town too. Red beamed at that while slapping his own hand to his chest.]

....I'm from Pallet Town too.

Oh cool, you too!

[That's neat! He never thought he'd meet another fellow Trainer also from Pallet Town. He was just used to the fact that Gary's out there working towards his own goals while as a Trainer.]

I had so much fun by the way! Thanks for letting me join!

[He grins.]

[monologing]

[Red grinned back to Ash. It was nice meeting another trainer from Pallet Town, that wasn't Blue. (not that he ever minded running into Blue!) What a cute little kid, who obviously loves Pokemon. Reaching out, Red lightly patted Ash a top his head.]

....hehe! I had fun too. Let's do it again sometime.

Yeah! Let's-

[And before Ash could even continue, some more people in the crowd start gathering in between him and Red until he could no longer see the older boy in view. His Pikachu seeing this quickly waved at Red and Hammy before running through the crowd to find his trainer.

While he didn't get a chance to say goodbye or anything, Deep inside, he had a feeling he'll be meeting Red again soon.]
