Suddenly in the midst of a Summer Festival--

There's a distinct sound of waves, and bustling of people nearby.

In the coastal city of Turnbloom the sun is bright and warm, and the scent of the sea wafts through with the cool gentle breeze that makes the glittering pinwheels spin, and the leaves on the palm tree dance.

Today the streets are extra decorated with these cute, colorful and floral shaped pinwheels. It seemed the people who were out in the streets were dressed in colorful summer attire--either casual, or the more traditional yukata. It seemed like with the booths were set out for both food and games for festival of some kind that was currently underway.

Just how did you get here, and why? A mystery, and it seemed the people in the streets didn't seem to notice anything out of the ordinary as they go about enjoying their time out on this bright sunny day.

[monologing]

[What a coincidence, as Red barely danced before too. In fact he only knew one dance and it was a traditional dance he only really did at summer festivals back home which was much slower, and easier to do.

He gave a glance to the people around them who happily danced together, in tune to the beat.

Turning to Tallie he gave a tiny squeeze to her hands.]

...that's okay, let's take it slowly.

[With that, Red takes one step in tune to the song. However he paused a moment making sure Tallie was ready to go.]

[ Well, she’s as ready as she’s going to be, anyway. There’s some solace in the fact that despite how surrounded they are by others, she doesn’t feel like anyone else is looking at them. If she stumbles, only he’ll see. It might as well be just the two of them here.

She follows his lead, stepping with her left foot, then her right - after a few more steps, she looks up at him instead of at the ground. ] ... I sort of get it. [ She still needs to loosen up more, but huh! This isn’t so bad! ]

[monologing]

[Red too is taking it easy. One foot, and then another. He's smiling, and patting himself on the back he hadn't stumbled all over himself or stepped on any toes thus far.

Lifting his gaze up to meet Tallie's he beamed, happy to hear that she was getting a hang of it. He's nodding in excitement that matched with the jovial tune of the music that's playing around them.]

...yeah, me too. It's not too bad, right?

[lockedtrainer]

[ She's never been able to beam as brightly as Red, but hopefully the warmth in her smile compares even a little. ]

Yeah. [ Her hands squeeze his. ] ... Thank you, Red.

[ As vulnerable as the gratitude makes her feel, she says it clearly, loud enough for him to hear over the festivities. ]

[monologing]

[Seeing that smile on Tallie, no matter how small was worth it. Returning her gesture with a light squeeze of his own, Red nodded.]

...what're friends for?

[Tallie was one of the few friends he had that weren't Pokemon, and unlike Blue she had been patient with him.]

...thanks to you too, Tallie. For dancing with me.

[And for everything else before this, he wanted to say but words are always hard to spit out. Especially now, but know seemed like the right time to express his own gratitude to her.]
