Suddenly in the midst of a Summer Festival--

There's a distinct sound of waves, and bustling of people nearby.
In the coastal city of Turnbloom the sun is bright and warm, and the scent of the sea wafts through with the cool gentle breeze that makes the glittering pinwheels spin, and the leaves on the palm tree dance.
Today the streets are extra decorated with these cute, colorful and floral shaped pinwheels. It seemed the people who were out in the streets were dressed in colorful summer attire--either casual, or the more traditional yukata. It seemed like with the booths were set out for both food and games for festival of some kind that was currently underway.
Just how did you get here, and why? A mystery, and it seemed the people in the streets didn't seem to notice anything out of the ordinary as they go about enjoying their time out on this bright sunny day.

That didn't look...too hard! They just had to do that, right?
Releasing Trips hands, he turned to face the younger trainer as he held his own arms up.]
Like this! ....I think!
[Red laughed, while he too moved his arms from side to side. It was fun just moving to the beat of the music for him.]

He watched Red, looking unsure, but copied him just the same.]
I think we're out... no, we're definitely out of sync!
[Is there some kind of order? He tried to watch the other dancers to figure out if there's some sort of rhythm...]

He's pausing and glancing at the other dancers who were having a lot of fun. Oh! People were whistling along to the music too, wow! This was pretty lively...!
Turning to Trip, Red looked less deterred by his observation. He's gesturing for Trip to come closer to him.]
... ...don't worry! We're just learning, it's okay to not be good! Just have fun!

Huh, hm. This boy reminded him a tiny bit of Blue but Trip had been much more willing to join along with the dance. Moving in closer again, Red once more held is hands out to Trip with a wide grin.]
...we can be out of sync together!
[It'll be less embarrassing that way, right?]
no subject
[Ash, he was going to say, but the earlier comment also reminded him of Alder. He hesitated to take his hands this time.]
... you're not afraid they'll laugh at you?
no subject
[There's a puzzled look from Red when Trip didn't finish his thoughts. He definitely didn't know how to use psychic powers like Sabrina, so he had no way of telling who he reminded Trip of.
However at his next question, Red stopped his movements to give thought to it. Him? Being afraid of someone laughing at him? Sure it would be embarrassing, but was it any less humiliating, or frustrating when Blue had done it?
Nah, he wasn't that person anymore, and Blue did help push him forward.
Instead, he shook his head. Red moved his hands away, temporarily to adjust his cap. There, much better! Now he could make clear eye contact with Trip.]
Even if they laugh...I won't stop until I get better! ...if I can't change, my world won't either.

Those were powerful-sounding words, like they could blow away any opposition. He looked stunned for a moment.
Unfortunately, Trip was still skeptical, so he frowned again, but he did take his hands too.]
Do you really think improving yourself will change the world…?
no subject
At Trip's question, Red gave a big grin.]
Mm! ....y'see, 3 years ago when I first started out as a trainer I was bad at it. ...if I had stayed in Pallet Town instead...
... ... ...
[Things would have stayed the same. He was so sure of it.
...oh! Right he had to use words to further explain himself. Red was sure he had gotten better at that, but he remembered his friends on the island telling himself to speak up more.]
Heh heh! Yeah, that's right... It's like trying to become stronger as a trainer! You can't get better without making mistakes, right?
no subject
Even though he tried to do everything right, even though he studied and prepared for years, he still made mistakes.]
... that's true.
Alright, we'll give it another shot.
no subject
What mattered to Red was to go and take that first step, even if the other stumbled. He'd be there help him back up.]
