EVENT: Snoring Snorlax!

Turnbloom City is quite a nice place with friendly faces and areas to explore but isn’t it about time to go beyond the city limits? Unfortunately–...

It looks like the exits are blocked by not one but many Snorlax! It seems no one can go in or out of Turnbloom. This is a serious issue as Snorlax are known for their hibernating nature. There’s no way people can get any deliveries in or out of the city either.

What is there to do?

Maybe…there’s a way to make these groups of Snorlax to move? Time to investigate!

Evie the Eevee is also at the Center, and she sighs with ears drooping. "But I wanted to see more of this place and look for Radley! Snorlaxes sleep for ages!"

Yes, she speaks like a human, in a cute little girl's voice.

Gold hadn't really expected the Eevee to talk back in human language, so he blinks, but isn't thrown off for more than a second. One of his Pokemon does know human language too, after all. Evie's cute voice softens Gold's heart a bit, and he gives her a gentle, sad smile.

"Yeah, I know how you feel. I've got somebody I wanna find too... Even if he's probably still back in Johto." Gold sighs as well. He misses Silver. He was hoping to find some clues about a way back home today, but then the world said 'Snorlax'.

Evie perks up a little at the sad smile and the information.

"You are? Maybe he came here too! I'm still hoping Radley did ... even though it doesn't seem like it...."

"Yeah, I hope so too!" Gold tries for a reassuring smile. "Maybe my buddy and yours ended up somewhere here, just like us, and we just haven't found them yet!" Even though it doesn't really feel like it to him, either.

"If we could get out of here, we could keep looking!" Evie said. "I guess there's not another door...."

"Oh!" Gold snaps his fingers in realization to Evie's comment. "Another door! There's gotta be some kinda fire escape or something! They build that kinda stuff in important buildings!" ~~and preferably all other buildings too, but Gold isn't aware of that~~

"Yay! Let's look!"

Evie hops to the floor and starts down the hall, looking for a door. There has to be one!

An adventure in the Pokemon Center! Gold follows Evie, determined to find the fire escape...

...Only to find another Snorlax blocking that, too. He stares at it, lost for words.

Evie completely droops. "Aww! Really?!"

Oh no, the Eevee's sad. "Maybe we can get out through a window!" Gold suggests quickly, trying to cheer Evie up. "Or... or wake it up somehow!"

"It's so hard to wake them up, though," Evie says. "Don't you need that flute thing?"

She looks for a window.

"Flute thing? I dunno. I've never seen a real Snorlax before this."

Gold talks as he's walking with Evie down the halls, looking for windows. Hopefully the nurse won't scold them for going anywhere they're not supposed to go.

"Hey, do you know anything else about Snorlaxes?" he asks, since Evie seems to know more than him.

Evie can't imagine there wouldn't be windows.

"They're usually scary and mad when they get woke up," she shudders.

"Scary and mad? That sounds bad," Gold says with a frown. "But my Pokemon are pretty strong, so maybe I could take it on!"

And right after those accidental rhymes, Gold spots a window! "Oh! ...Good news, we found the windows!" Gold says, pointing at it, up high near the ceiling, far above their heads. "Bad news, it might be tough to get to it..."

Evie might have commented on the rhymes, but then the window takes her attention. She scowls and sits down, staring up at it with tail swishing. "Why is it all the way up there? Don't they think the Pokemon would like to look outside?!"

"I know, right? What's with this building?!" Gold joins in on roasting the architecture, all his annoyance from this long search bursting out. "What are those, windows for birds?? And why's the fire escape so easily blocked?!"

Gold crosses his arms in a huff as he sits down next to Evie, staring up at the window.

Evie sighs. "So ... what are we going to do? Find some boxes to climb on?"

But what if there's no way down from the other side?

"I dunno... I guess that could work..." Gold ponders.

Just then, Evie might hear the slightly muted voice of a Togetic coming from one of Gold's Pokeballs on his waist, speaking in Pokemon language. "(Excuse me!)" she calls out, impatiently. "(Hello! Can you understand me, little Eevee?)" Gold's Pokeballs are translucent, so Evie can actually see her if she looks closer.

Evie's ears twitch and she perks up. "Oh hi! Could you fly up and see what it looks like on the other side?"

Gold looks at Evie in confusion when she talks, but then brightens up when he notices who she's talking to.

"Oh! Nerica! Of course!" he says, getting up from the floor and taking out the Togetic's Pokeball. "Nerica, come out!"

The Togetic huffs as she appears. "(Finally remembered I exist, hm?)" Then, she nods at Evie with a grin and flies up to examine the windows.

Evie watches hopefully. "What's it like up there?"

Nerica flits around the window, testing the edges, knocking on the glass. She mutters to herself "(This blasted thing...)" in annoyance, before calling back "(I can't open it! This window's made for human hands!)" She seems fully focused on trying to open the window rather than looking at what's outside.

Meanwhile, Gold's just watching, not understanding what Nerica's saying, but kind of getting the vibe.

"Does it look like we could even get down if we went out?" Evie asks.

"(Huh? Sure, I can fly you down,)" Nerica says, mildly surprised, then strikes a smug pose. "(Who do you think you're talking to? The great Nerica can carry a ten-year-old human and an Eevee with ease!)"

"What's she saying?" Gold asks.

"She says she can fly us down!" Evie exclaims. "... Oh, but she also says she can't open the window...."
