EVENT: Snoring Snorlax!

Turnbloom City is quite a nice place with friendly faces and areas to explore but isn’t it about time to go beyond the city limits? Unfortunately–...

It looks like the exits are blocked by not one but many Snorlax! It seems no one can go in or out of Turnbloom. This is a serious issue as Snorlax are known for their hibernating nature. There’s no way people can get any deliveries in or out of the city either.

What is there to do?

Maybe…there’s a way to make these groups of Snorlax to move? Time to investigate!

"Scary and mad? That sounds bad," Gold says with a frown. "But my Pokemon are pretty strong, so maybe I could take it on!"

And right after those accidental rhymes, Gold spots a window! "Oh! ...Good news, we found the windows!" Gold says, pointing at it, up high near the ceiling, far above their heads. "Bad news, it might be tough to get to it..."

Evie might have commented on the rhymes, but then the window takes her attention. She scowls and sits down, staring up at it with tail swishing. "Why is it all the way up there? Don't they think the Pokemon would like to look outside?!"

[gold_drum]

"I know, right? What's with this building?!" Gold joins in on roasting the architecture, all his annoyance from this long search bursting out. "What are those, windows for birds?? And why's the fire escape so easily blocked?!"

Gold crosses his arms in a huff as he sits down next to Evie, staring up at the window.

Evie sighs. "So ... what are we going to do? Find some boxes to climb on?"

But what if there's no way down from the other side?

[gold_drum]

"I dunno... I guess that could work..." Gold ponders.

Just then, Evie might hear the slightly muted voice of a Togetic coming from one of Gold's Pokeballs on his waist, speaking in Pokemon language. "(Excuse me!)" she calls out, impatiently. "(Hello! Can you understand me, little Eevee?)" Gold's Pokeballs are translucent, so Evie can actually see her if she looks closer.

Evie's ears twitch and she perks up. "Oh hi! Could you fly up and see what it looks like on the other side?"

[gold_drum]

Gold looks at Evie in confusion when she talks, but then brightens up when he notices who she's talking to.

"Oh! Nerica! Of course!" he says, getting up from the floor and taking out the Togetic's Pokeball. "Nerica, come out!"

The Togetic huffs as she appears. "(Finally remembered I exist, hm?)" Then, she nods at Evie with a grin and flies up to examine the windows.

Evie watches hopefully. "What's it like up there?"

[gold_drum]

Nerica flits around the window, testing the edges, knocking on the glass. She mutters to herself "(This blasted thing...)" in annoyance, before calling back "(I can't open it! This window's made for human hands!)" She seems fully focused on trying to open the window rather than looking at what's outside.

Meanwhile, Gold's just watching, not understanding what Nerica's saying, but kind of getting the vibe.

"Does it look like we could even get down if we went out?" Evie asks.

[gold_drum]

"(Huh? Sure, I can fly you down,)" Nerica says, mildly surprised, then strikes a smug pose. "(Who do you think you're talking to? The great Nerica can carry a ten-year-old human and an Eevee with ease!)"

"What's she saying?" Gold asks.

"She says she can fly us down!" Evie exclaims. "... Oh, but she also says she can't open the window...."

[gold_drum]

"Really? Thanks, Nerica!" Gold tells the Togetic as she flies back down. "The window's tough, then..." Gold frowns in thought. "Maybe we could break it? No, they'd probably make me pay for fixing it..."

"Maybe Nerica could fly you up and you could try to open it?" Evie says.

[gold_drum]

"Oh yeah!" Gold says. "Nerica, what she said!"

Nerica chuckles, and flies a bit upward, tilting her legs towards Gold to hang on to. "(Since you'd be stuck without my help, I suppose I shall oblige!)"

Gold grabs on to her legs, and she carries him up to the window. It's a bit tricky, trying to open the window clasp one-handed... but he manages!

"I did it!" he whoops to Evie below.

(ooc: flipped a coin irl to see if he'd get it open XD)

"Yay!" Evie exclaims. "Let's go out!"

[gold_drum]

"Yay!" Gold agrees. Nerica flies him down and he offers his free hand to Evie. "Come here, I'll carry you!"

Evie hops up into his arm, tail wagging. This will be fun!

Gold secures Evie carefully so she doesn't fall, and up they fly! As they reach the window height, the view of Turnbloom City opens up ahead of them. The sea, the park, and plenty of spinning turnwheels are visible from this height. Gold's smile widens as he looks around to see it all, while they exit the Pokemon Center through the window.

"It's so amazing from so high!" Evie gushes. "It must be so fun to fly!"

[gold_drum]

"(Heh, are you jealous? You should be!)" Nerica laughs.

"Yeah, it's great!" Gold responds to Evie with a smile, not understanding Nerica. "Oh, except when you're flying a long time. Then it gets kinda scary and tiring."

Nerica's smug smile drops, and she nods without any more comments, and slowly lowers Gold and Evie down to the pavement while thinking back on all the longer flights she's carried Gold on before.

Evie frowns a bit, seeing Nerica is sad now. "Oh, I would love flying a long time!" she said. "And I'm sure you're grateful you have a way to get around! Nerica is very nice!"

[gold_drum]

"Yeah, of course I'm grateful," Gold says, a bit confused. "Why wouldn't I be?" Now that they're on ground level, he lets go of Nerica's legs and crouches to allow Evie to get down easier.

"(Sh-shut up! I'm not nice,)" Nerica scoffs grumpily, blushing in embarrassment. "(Don't call me nice! That's slander! I'm- I'm above such things! I only tolerate others if they worship me, as everyone should! You're the one who's nice!!)" She points at Evie aggressively. "(And cute, too!!)"

The other Pokemon in Gold's Pokeballs, meanwhile, coo and poke friendly fun at how cute Nerica's being. Nerica pointedly ignores them as Gold watches, still confused.

Evie hops down. "You didn't have to offer to help, so you're nice too!" she chirps innocently. "Thank you very much for the ride and the compliments!"

[gold_drum]

"(I am not!)" Nerica protests. "(It's only the truth! Ugh! You... you... you're the cutest Eevee I've ever seen!)" she spits out as if it was an insult, then turns to Gold. "(Put me back in there!)" she says, tapping the Pokeball.

"Oh! I know what that means," Gold says, brightening up, and takes the Pokeball. "Return, Nerica!" Nerica goes back into her Pokeball, exiting this conversation. "Oh, and thanks for the help!" Gold says, but Nerica doesn't respond.

"What was she saying anyway? Complimenting you?" Gold asks Evie.
