Suddenly in the midst of a Summer Festival--

There's a distinct sound of waves, and bustling of people nearby.
In the coastal city of Turnbloom the sun is bright and warm, and the scent of the sea wafts through with the cool gentle breeze that makes the glittering pinwheels spin, and the leaves on the palm tree dance.
Today the streets are extra decorated with these cute, colorful and floral shaped pinwheels. It seemed the people who were out in the streets were dressed in colorful summer attire--either casual, or the more traditional yukata. It seemed like with the booths were set out for both food and games for festival of some kind that was currently underway.
Just how did you get here, and why? A mystery, and it seemed the people in the streets didn't seem to notice anything out of the ordinary as they go about enjoying their time out on this bright sunny day.

B - have the crazy cat lady
[There's a gasp of surprise by a young woman who was carrying a pink Skitty themed tote bag over her shoulder, and a phone in a fuzzy Espurr themed cover in her right hand. She seemed surprised that Espurr had suddenly changed size in front of her eyes.]
Gasps happily...
Wowza.
Espurr looks down herself, and then blinks.
Specifically she blinks at that phone cover, and really, why wouldn't she-] ...Is that...supposed to look like me?
[..................well.]
no subject
[She's glancing down to Espurr's feet but no, no. They definitely weren't height elevating were they? At the next question the woman looked up puzzled.]
What do you mean look like you? It's just a phone case based on what an Espurr looks, that's all. Oh...but you do have cute hair! It reminds me of an Espurr. They're so lovely...I wish I could hug all of them...
[She sighed with a dreamy look. It seemed her thoughts were now preoccupied with Espurrs.]
no subject
No, I'm actually bigger, [she assures, still blinking. And after shrinking back down to a normal height, she even beams a bit.]
That's exactly why I asked though! I am an Espurr! ...Though I suppose now I'm just a 'troll'...it's awful inconvenient. I feel like my classmates now, with a name that doesn't match, [she huffs, quietly wondering what to make of the rest of this woman's words. Should she be worried? Well probably not, she doesn't look a lot like herself after all! She probably just wants to hug normal Espurrs. A problem for Past!Espurr, if anything. Crisis averted.]
no subject
[That had snapped the woman out of her Espurr filled daydream. She was unable to hide her shock. Now she's looking Espurr up and down before moving in closer while cupping her chin in thought.]
I don't really understand everything you're saying, but hmmm...!
[She's now taking in the top of Espurr's head, realizing how her hair did look a like like Espurr's but it was still so hard to believe. Almost as unbelievable as how Espurr had changed her height right in front of the woman's eyes.]
C...can I touch it? Your hair? Or should I call it your fur...?
no subject
What?] ....I suppose?
[She doesn't quite see the appeal here!] Be careful of my eyes though, they are still there.
[Of course, they aren't containing metric tons of psychic force anymore, but it would still hurt! They're not under the ear-like tufts of hair at the top of her head though- they're under the floppy ones at the sides- where normal ears tend to go.]
no subject
[Excitedly, the woman reached her free hand out and placed it over Espurr's head. Surprisingly, it's almost like touching an Espurr's fur from the texture to the softness.]
How fascinating...!
[Growing a bit more curious, she starts stroking her head very gently like she would to any Pokemon. Does Espurr like pettings? Because she sure is getting one.]
no subject
Well either way it Is rather nice to have one's hair gently fluffled like that, she's deciding. Sort of like sitting in a nice breeze, she thinks.
Conversation is also happening though, because this woman is not a gentle breeze, she's a person, and Espurr thinks it would probably be a bit awkward otherwise. Not that she personally minds leaving things awkward, but she should probably not be rude to someone she's just met.] It is a little- where I found myself before had almost no pokemon at all- it was very different from being in Serene Village. This feels more familiar, even if I'm still not my usual shape at least.
no subject
[Her touch is still being gentle, as her hand brushed through Espurr's hair(fur?). She's moving her gaze over to Espurr looking intrigued.]
A place with no Pokemon? That's so strange...I can't imagine being in a place like that. So is the place you're originally from, the Serene Village, close to the sea?
no subject
[And no one seemed to grasp that! Terrible.]
It's located near a river actually; I've seen the sea before, but this is my first time on an island like this. It's very nice~
no subject
[She couldn't imagine living without any Pokemon, let alone cute cat Pokemon!]
Wow, so you lived in a nice village by the river. ...hmm? Wait, does that mean you lived with a human, or in the town on your own?
no subject
Oh- No no, not with any humans...how do I put this, [she hums, only to very quickly sort that out given just how soon she explains.] There weren't any humans at all where I came from. As a matter of fact they were something of a fairytale thing. No one had ever seen one.
no subject
[The woman's eyes lit up at the explanation.]
So you're from a village made by Pokemon? That sounds so wonderful! Oh, but...you're far from a place like that here. I mean, we do live together with Pokemon...
it's genuinely such a funny cutscene too...
[She pauses, and breaks into small giggles.]
Yes, there's definitely nothing reduced to myth and legend here~ Everyone is much better at finding ways to differentiate themselves from the other too! When Teddiursa evolved in the village, it took a long time before we could tell 'Ursaring' apart from her brother 'Ursaring'.
[So if the question of 'how do pokemon tell the other apart' ever came to mind, apparently, the answer is 'they don't'. Oops!]
gosh the PMD series is so charming, I need to play more of it some time
[The woman's eyes lit up, clearly happy to learn more from Espurr.]
Hmm, honestly we have problems telling differences between people and Pokemon when they look exactly identical.
[She's nodding to herself. Clearly it was like that with Ursaring too wasn't it? It had to be!]
That reminds me, what did you do back in the village? Did you have work to do, or maybe spend time together with friends every day?
It's SO charming, I can't recommend Super enough honestly but really all the entries have charm...
[It seems smart. Why weren't they doing that!]
Mnh? Oh, it's really a mix~ [Espurr giggles.] I'm just a kid after all- so I went to school with the others close to my age. It was a great open air place on a hill, and we would all check in with Mister Watchog before taking out seats to listen to Mister Farfetch'd!
no subject
[She couldn't help but ask out of curiosity. It wasn't always she could talk to a Pokemon! The woman continued to listen with Espurr with much attentiveness.]
Oh! My, that sounds so lovely going to a school with other Pokemon... what sort of things did you learn in school?
no subject
[Oh, as for that-] Mostly we learned about what we would need to survive in the world; how status conditions work, or 'type' advantages for example. Or items like looplets, and the emera stones you can place in them!
no subject
[The woman is cupping her chin in thought now.]
So a reverse of your situation? I wonder what it's like to become a Pokemon. I'd love to be a cute little Persian lounging out on the sandy beach, ah...
[She sighed to herself imagining a Persian. Wait, no no! Time to focus!]
My, that's great that you learn about status conditions and type advantages too! That's one of the things we're taught in our schools too, especially if you plan on taking care of or raising any Pokemon. But I've never heard of looplets or emera stones. Are they something you use everyday?
no subject
[Her classmate adjusted well enough, she supposes.
...Oh-] Oh, not at all. It might be unique to my region...I have yet to see any Mystery Dungeons here, and they were typically only useful inside those. A Mystery Dungeon is a constantly shifting location- once you enter the radius, it changes its layout again and again. Looplets were bracelets you could wear to grant certain protections within them. Emera stones, which appeared inside these places, added to those protections.
Hmmm...I suppose a good way to put it is that they were very specialized 'hold items'~ [She cheers.] I once had a Looplet that helped with dodging attacks!
no subject
[Since who could live without their family or friends nearby? She sure couldn't imagine that.
Listening to Espurr's explanation on Mystery Dungeons, and the unique items the woman's eyes lit up. She was clearly intrigued by it all.]
This is really interesting! I can't imagine exploring a place like that... but if it's constantly shifting, isn't it hard to find a way back home? I can only find myself getting lost in a place like a Mystery Dungeon.
