Suddenly in the midst of a Summer Festival--

There's a distinct sound of waves, and bustling of people nearby.
In the coastal city of Turnbloom the sun is bright and warm, and the scent of the sea wafts through with the cool gentle breeze that makes the glittering pinwheels spin, and the leaves on the palm tree dance.
Today the streets are extra decorated with these cute, colorful and floral shaped pinwheels. It seemed the people who were out in the streets were dressed in colorful summer attire--either casual, or the more traditional yukata. It seemed like with the booths were set out for both food and games for festival of some kind that was currently underway.
Just how did you get here, and why? A mystery, and it seemed the people in the streets didn't seem to notice anything out of the ordinary as they go about enjoying their time out on this bright sunny day.

it's genuinely such a funny cutscene too...
[She pauses, and breaks into small giggles.]
Yes, there's definitely nothing reduced to myth and legend here~ Everyone is much better at finding ways to differentiate themselves from the other too! When Teddiursa evolved in the village, it took a long time before we could tell 'Ursaring' apart from her brother 'Ursaring'.
[So if the question of 'how do pokemon tell the other apart' ever came to mind, apparently, the answer is 'they don't'. Oops!]
gosh the PMD series is so charming, I need to play more of it some time
[The woman's eyes lit up, clearly happy to learn more from Espurr.]
Hmm, honestly we have problems telling differences between people and Pokemon when they look exactly identical.
[She's nodding to herself. Clearly it was like that with Ursaring too wasn't it? It had to be!]
That reminds me, what did you do back in the village? Did you have work to do, or maybe spend time together with friends every day?
It's SO charming, I can't recommend Super enough honestly but really all the entries have charm...
[It seems smart. Why weren't they doing that!]
Mnh? Oh, it's really a mix~ [Espurr giggles.] I'm just a kid after all- so I went to school with the others close to my age. It was a great open air place on a hill, and we would all check in with Mister Watchog before taking out seats to listen to Mister Farfetch'd!

[She couldn't help but ask out of curiosity. It wasn't always she could talk to a Pokemon! The woman continued to listen with Espurr with much attentiveness.]
Oh! My, that sounds so lovely going to a school with other Pokemon... what sort of things did you learn in school?
no subject
[Oh, as for that-] Mostly we learned about what we would need to survive in the world; how status conditions work, or 'type' advantages for example. Or items like looplets, and the emera stones you can place in them!

[The woman is cupping her chin in thought now.]
So a reverse of your situation? I wonder what it's like to become a Pokemon. I'd love to be a cute little Persian lounging out on the sandy beach, ah...
[She sighed to herself imagining a Persian. Wait, no no! Time to focus!]
My, that's great that you learn about status conditions and type advantages too! That's one of the things we're taught in our schools too, especially if you plan on taking care of or raising any Pokemon. But I've never heard of looplets or emera stones. Are they something you use everyday?

[Her classmate adjusted well enough, she supposes.
...Oh-] Oh, not at all. It might be unique to my region...I have yet to see any Mystery Dungeons here, and they were typically only useful inside those. A Mystery Dungeon is a constantly shifting location- once you enter the radius, it changes its layout again and again. Looplets were bracelets you could wear to grant certain protections within them. Emera stones, which appeared inside these places, added to those protections.
Hmmm...I suppose a good way to put it is that they were very specialized 'hold items'~ [She cheers.] I once had a Looplet that helped with dodging attacks!

[Since who could live without their family or friends nearby? She sure couldn't imagine that.
Listening to Espurr's explanation on Mystery Dungeons, and the unique items the woman's eyes lit up. She was clearly intrigued by it all.]
This is really interesting! I can't imagine exploring a place like that... but if it's constantly shifting, isn't it hard to find a way back home? I can only find myself getting lost in a place like a Mystery Dungeon.
