Suddenly in the midst of a Summer Festival--

There's a distinct sound of waves, and bustling of people nearby.

In the coastal city of Turnbloom the sun is bright and warm, and the scent of the sea wafts through with the cool gentle breeze that makes the glittering pinwheels spin, and the leaves on the palm tree dance.

Today the streets are extra decorated with these cute, colorful and floral shaped pinwheels. It seemed the people who were out in the streets were dressed in colorful summer attire--either casual, or the more traditional yukata. It seemed like with the booths were set out for both food and games for festival of some kind that was currently underway.

Just how did you get here, and why? A mystery, and it seemed the people in the streets didn't seem to notice anything out of the ordinary as they go about enjoying their time out on this bright sunny day.

[Lucas was just traversing through the harsh blizzards of Route 217 in Sinnoh after hearing news of an outbreak of Pokemon somewhere in the area. He was well prepared for the trek, all geared up to keep himself safe and warm from the freezing cold.

Although he was careful, his foot suddenly got caught by the root of one of the trees, and immediately Lucas braced for impact.

Water then splashes against his face.]

...Huh!?

[The taste of saltwater was enough to startle Lucas as he pulls himself up and move away from the shore.

Instead of blinding white snow, he's faced with the bright warm tropical sun, the vibrant blue waters of the ocean, and the swirling festive mood that surrounds him. It was so warm in fact, that after not too long, Lucas decides to take off his winter coat and roll up his long sleeves. That and his coat's already soaking wet from the water he dunked himself into anyway.

Lucas now is visibly lost and confused as he walks around the festival site, passing by all the booths, the spinning pinwheels, and taking notice of the strange new Pokemon he's never seen before.]

I wonder where I am this time...

[It sounds as if he's experienced this before.]

Outta the way, outta the way, outta the way!!!

[Suddenly out of nowhere it's your rival! Barry!

Whether he's aware of the change in surroundings or not is a mystery. Either way he's blazing through the streets. There's plenty of sounds of surprise from the people on the streets to sounds of amusement.

Unsurprisingly, Barry is still barreling through headed straight for Lucas. What's going to happen next!?]

[Before Lucas could react even further...

THUD!]

Ah! Barry!?

[It's a good thing he's so used to it. He stumbles a bit but manages to keep his footing, like usual.]

Oh! Hey, it's Lucas!

[Immediately Barry's beaming at who he's literally stumbled into.]

What are you doing all the way over-....wait a sec, where are we?

Aha, that's what I'd like to know too. I just got here.

[And if Barry didn't know as well, then that makes two of them.]

Wait, huh? How could you not know? But you're the one who always...

[He trails not quite sure how to continue. Why bother telling Lucas anyway? It wasn't like he'd remember right? Maybe this was some sort of dream?

He's crossing his arms looking thoughtfully.]

Hmmmm, but I can't think of how we'd end up here! I wasn't even that far off from home! Do you even remember where you were?

[Lucas does frown a bit, knowing what Barry was about to say. Sadly he doesn't have all the answers this time.]

Oh, I do! I was just passing by Route 217 since I heard there was a Pokemon outbreak over there.

[As Lucas finishes, he looks around and takes notice of not just the tropical setting, but the crowds of people gathering at some sort of event just up ahead.]

...Say, it looks like something's going on over there.

Oh! So you were working on your Pokedex? How's that coming along?

[At least Barry looks interested in that, until he turned his attention to where the crowd is. Whoa, that sure was a lot of people! But what could it be?]

What are you waiting for Lucas?! Let's go check it out! C'mon!

[Without even waiting on his friend, Barry is already running ahead.]

[Before he could even get a chance to answer, he watches Barry sprint off. Not wanting to be left behind, Lucas starts following behind his friend.]

Hey, wait for me!

[At the port, once the two are close enough to where the crowd is, they might pick up on the excited chatter of girls surrounding what seems to be a stage. There's a large backdrop that has very flashy text written on it. Although it's written in a language he couldn't fully understand, there's text on the bottom that he's able to make out.]

..."Soaring with Tobi Concert Tour, Fan Meet and Greet with Tobi"?

[Putting two and two together, it looks like there's some sort of fan event going on.]

[Speaking of people who may have experienced something like this before: not too far away from Lucas, you'll find a familiar-looking blond that would be easy to mistake for your rival, Barry. They are dressed the same and have a similar hairstyle, after all.

However, his words become clearer when coming closer, and as it turns out, it's not quite the same person as this one can be heard saying to one of the female locals--]

Soooo, I don't suppose you'd be willing to walk around with me here, would you? I mean, I still need to find my friend--about this tall, dark hair, wearing a red beret--but I think it would be wonderful to get to know you further as well, perhaps over a coffee and--

"I hate to interrupt, but isn't that your friend right there?"

[The local points right at Lucas, having spotted him by his red beret, and when he turns to look, they take this opportunity to slip away so they can get back to work.

Honestly, it figures that even though he literally just got here, that one alternate version of your rival named Jun would already be attempting to flirt with some lady. The priorities of your old friend Lucas, I swear.]

[The familiar sight of what he thinks is his rival perks Lucas up. Somehow it feels comforting to know that you're aren't alone in this brand new world you just stumbled upon. The excitement brewing inside him got Lucas to approach his friend...]

[But when he hears the way he talks, that got Lucas to pause. There was a certain someone in his dream that actually talked that way, and he wore the same face as his childhood friend at home. The clearest difference however was that he wasn't rushing around and accidentally bumping into him like he was racing against time itself. He couldn't quite forget that boy in his dream, and some of the adventures they had together. And now...

He stares.

Could it be really...?]

...Jun?

[rivalheroics]

[Jun also stares, because despite the description he had given to the local, he had been talking about his rival from his own world, Hareta. But he still recognizes the other boy in front of him nonetheless, as the far more calmer and mature version that he remembers from adventures that had taken place somewhere much farther away than Sinnoh.]

Lucas? Is that really you?

[The moment he says his name, some of the memories of their adventures together in that faraway place start to flash before his eyes. And without thinking, Lucas moves in close and grabs both of Jun's hands.]

Jun... Jun it's really you! [He's real.] I thought... all of that... it was all a dream...

[As he smiles, he could feel the tears beginning to well up behind his eyes.]

[Jun beams brightly--he had not expected to see Lucas again here, so this is a pleasant surprise.

It helps him feel way less awkward and worried about potentially ending up in yet another strange place alone.]

I thought so too, but I guess not! It's so good to see you--did you just get here too or have you been here a while?

[fromtwinleaf]

[He lets go of Jun's hands after a short while, but the feeling he got from doing that? Definitely real and not a dream.]

Actually, I just got here. I've been trying to figure out where we are right now...

[And where they are now, is still a mystery. He looks at the booths at the side and eyes on the signs.]

I can't read a lot of what's written here, they're written in some strange language. But looking at everyone else, they seem friendly enough.

Yeah, I don't really recognize the language from the signs... oh, but, the local I was just talking to said that we were in "Turnbloom City", I think they called it? Which isn't a city I've heard of before, so I have to assume we are definitely not in Sinnoh or any other region normally close to us...

But hey, now that you're here, I'm sure we can work together to figure out what to do about this new place we're in, right?

This time...?

[The words come from a young girl several feet away, walking with a Delphox, Pancham, and Sylveon. The four of them look intently at Lucas.]

I'm sorry. I couldn't help but overhear...you said that as if this sort of thing happened to you already?

Oh!

[When he heard Serena's voice, it's enough to pull Lucas back from his thoughts. And the first thing that Lucas catches his eye are the three Pokemon that's accompanying her. He's never seen them before... Lucas wonders where they're from. But before he could mull any further, he pushes that aside, not wanting to keep Serena waiting for an answer.]

Well, um... It might sound really strange, but it's not the first time I've walked into a another world.

I-I see...

[Serena had only limited experience with this sort of thing, and it involved meeting her alternate self only briefly across the mirror portals that Ash had gotten lost in. This seemed to be an entirely different sort of thing, though.]

It's my first time, really. If that's even what this is, I mean. I was thinking this might be another region instead...

Hmm, I hope I'm wrong though. Being in another region doesn't sound as bad actually...

[Please oh please he wishes to be wrong.]

...I guess we should start asking about where we are first.

[showcasestar]

...That would be the obvious thing to do, wouldn't it?

[Why didn't she think of that?]

Ehehe, I guess so.

[Lucas just smiles.]

...Ah, I'm Lucas by the way. I'm from Twinleaf Town in the Sinnoh region.
