Stardust Beach - Traveller
[A rather confused Trip might be found wandering the beach today! It seems he's drifted back in for the first time in a while (not counting his younger self who's been staying at the Professor's place)... well, at least he's already dressed for the beach, with a sun hat, (oversized, hiding nearly half his face) shades, capris, and a breezy (very orange) shirt! But, there's just one little problem...]
... have you seen my Frillish?
Pokemon Center - Takeover
[Nurse Emi was supposed to be off today, wasn't she? Yet, it seems she's come to work anyway! Quite the workaholic, isn't she? ... or is it her? She seems to be acting, well, strange...
She's lazily flung herself, ragdoll-like, as if she isn't quite sure what to do with her limbs, into a seat behind the desk and is rudely bossing around the Pokemon Nurses like a little despot! She didn't have to be here today, why is she being so mean?! Maybe she's not feeling well? It seems like nothing's good enough for her!
She isn't even really doing any work, she's mostly just... drinking jasmine tea. She's been drinking cup after cup of jasmine tea with no end in sight.]
Home - Trick
[Not at the beach or the Pokemon Center today? That's alright, a bored and mischievous Ghost type Pokemon could bring chaos and confusion to your home, too! Is that where you left that thing? Wait, who ate those treats you were saving? Are your Pokemon partners or other room mates mad at you and you have no idea why?]

[I'd guess maybe a Comfey and an Ulternian Blissey?]
("You could say that. You realize that lady nurse is probably possessed by a ghost?") Drasiel asks. She hates dealing with ghosts. They're so creepy, and they refuse to answer your questions directly, and they laugh at your confusion... (She may be thinking of one ghost she knows in particular.)
("I guess so. My trainer traded me temporarily to this guy,") she gestures at Gold, ("And then he went and got teleported here, so apparently I'm stuck here now.")
[I did ask and we were both right about the Ulternian Blissey, I even guessed it's the heart one!]
('P-p-possessed?!') one of the Chansey says, going pale! She hides behind a friend.
('A temporary trade! Was it to help another Pokemon evolve?') asks another Chansey, distracted momentarily, before focusing on the main topic at hand. ('We thought she wasn't acting at all like her usual self...!')
('How do we fix it?! I'm not any good at battling!') the fearful Chansey cries.
((The rest are Chansey. ^^))
[late response, sorry ^^;]
"Hey, Drasiel! There's tea for you too!" Gold calls out, but Drasiel's distracted.
("It was because my trainer needed a Pokemon that could fly. More importantly, you don't have any way to heal possession? Even though this is supposed to be a place to heal?") Drasiel says, a bit exasperated but genuinely surprised. Her mental image of what a hospital does may be a little off from reality...
[Finally here again, sorry... and asked Spagonia, Ultern has its own Noctowl!]
("... are we... sure she's possessed?") Blissey asked, wondering. ("Maybe she's just being manipulated, or...")
("Oh! I remembered!") the first Chansey said, recalling something. ("We can ask Noctowl! We have one who's set to be released later today, they're very good at seeing through illusions.")
no subject
("Illusions? Huh. Yeah, ghosts do have those too, don't they,") Drasiel muses. ("Since you're the professionals around here, I'd better leave fetching that Noctowl to you, yeah?")
(In one of Gold's Pokeballs, Elena the Furret perks up a little at hearing the word Noctowl, but realizes the chances of a random Noctowl being her friend from back home are extremely low. And she certainly wouldn't want to see her friend separated from his trainer.
Gold, meanwhile, is still just casually sipping tea and watching the Pokemon talk.)
no subject
He hummed, then waved a wing dismissively.
("That's not Nurse Emi. There's some blue guy with red eyes holding those cookies. The nurse is an illusion.")
[Drasiel, who doesn't know many Pokemon species outside Johto but wants to seem cool]
"Oh, are those ghost cookies?" he says directly to 'Nurse Emi.' Not one for subtlety!
("Other way around! That's a ghost!") Drasiel tries to warn him, before running over to stand between Gold and the illusion. ("A blue guy with red eyes, are you? That sounds like... a Totodile!") she says, pointing a finger accusingly. Wait, what? She looks confused and falters for a second, before shaking her head, then glaring at the illusion again. ("But you're no Totodile, are you?!")
("Nice save!") shouts Carn the Meganium from one of Gold's pokeballs, too tinny to be heard by anyone further away from Gold than Drasiel, but Drasiel's eye twitches in annoyance as she hears it. Shut up, peanut gallery...
Gold looks mostly confused about all this, but since Drasiel seems to be taking this pretty seriously, he's a little apprehensive.
[Frillish, too, has not travelled far enough to meet one, but wants to look cool!!!]
"L-lish, lish, fril-lish Frillish!"
("I-I am not a Totodile or whatever, I'm Frillish!")
Oops, exposed! "Nurse Emi" sure was speaking Pokemon language...
Frustrated and embarrassed, Frillish ended the illusion! Nurse Emi was gone and the jellyfish with the ruffed collar and fluttering, veil-like tentacles crossed two of them against his chest, harrumphing and pouting.
This isn't fun anymore!
Noctowl nodded. Well, there you go... he flew back to his bed for a little more rest, as it's still light out, and the nurses, who were silent from shock, became very, very mad...
((I'm guessing Gold has prooobably met Frillish before, if not in a thread, then sometime off-screen!))
no subject
"Oh, it's one of those frilly things. Trip's got one," he says. Huh, what if it really is Trip's Frillish and they're going to have one of those magical fairy tale meetings? Nah, it's not Tanabata... or is it? He hasn't set his Pokegear's clock or calendar since returning to Ultern, so could it be... Nah, what are the chances of that happening again?
("So you were just bossing others around and scaring them for fun, huh?") Drasiel says, crossing her arms. ("Hope you're ready to face the consequences.")
But she's more than happy to stand back and let the Pokemon Center workers decide how to deal with this. They're the ones that were more affected, after all.
[This brat....... but, hey, Gold gets another [more chaotic youkai Nurarihyon] fairy tale meeting]
("I-it was all a misunderstanding, I just felt SO lonely, I wanted to feel big and important, ahaha, and some tea—eep!")
But, he heard Gold mention Trip, he couldn't ignore that! Before he could say anything, Frillish got hit with a Double Slap, although Chansey only managed to slap him once before glowing with an ominous dark energy and becoming unable to lay a hand (or perhaps paw?) on him.
Frillish went from cowering to clapping in amusement and dodging other strikes from the other Pokemon.
("You can't touch my Cursed Body, haha!")
The Chansey and Blissey are quite confused by Frillish's ability, but Blissey steps aside, quietly tells one Chansey to stand in the doorway of the Pokemon Center (to keep it open...?), and starts collecting energy for a... Hyper Beam?! Aimed out the Pokemon Center's open, to avoid damaging any infrastructure, while also hitting Frillish!
Frillish nearly dodged it by darting away, but one of his tentacles got caught it in it and the beam blasted him into the side of the glass doorway. SPLAT. ... at least, he has no bones to break, and suffered primarily a bruised ego.
He slipped miserably down onto the floor with another wet SPLAT and cried, indignantly, before making his way to Gold to cling pitifully.
("Goooold! They're all so MEAN!")
Did this little one seem to recognize him? He certainly knew his name and decided he was the safest person to cling to and act pitiful! He gave him cookies! Please be grateful!
[Not the kind of fairy-tale meeting he was hoping for...!]
("Is this the power of Pokemon Center's workers...?") she mutters to herself as she watches, gaining a new level of respect, mixed with a side of some fear.
(Anime type advantages, of course, aren't as simple as game mechanics...)
But then the Hyper Beam comes out, and Gold, who's been watching pretty casually and eating cookies, flinches and drops the cookie. That, uh... that's pretty scary, actually. (He picks up the cookie and stuffs it in his mouth though. No wasting food!)
When Frillish clings to him, Gold inches back on instinct because the tentacles are kind of gross and slippery. He does feel sorry for the little guy, but...!
"Don't come over here, what if they shoot another beam my way?!" he yelps, but then turns to the Chanseys and Blissey. "Hey, chill! You're gonna break the whole Center down if you keep that up!"
That might be an overexaggeration, but he doesn't want to get beamed, here...!
(He hasn't realized it's Trip's Frillish yet, but if he did, he might be friendlier.)
[Poor Gold!]
Gold might not understand what she's saying, but she certainly has a lecturing tone and points to the floor and shakes her head and wags her paw at him... it's like a Poke-mom lecture. (Well... a more caring mom lecture...)
Frillish sniffles and, decided to lay it on even more thickly, swoons with a frilly tentacle fluttering over his face. Total drama
queenking!... fortunately, all the noise also attracted Trip's attention as he passed through the open doors, glancing around, expecting to find Frillish at the heart of the chaos, and... there he was! Along with Gold. His rather unamused expression, already meantlly rehearsing apologies, shifted to a look of surprise, then a warm nostalgic smile. He hasn't greeted him yet, but...
[Speaking of drama kings...]
(He hasn't learned anything and will continue to eat cookies off the floor in the future.)
Drasiel eyes Frillish, unimpressed, and rolls her eyes. Drama king indeed.
And then Trip enters, and Gold's eyes are immediately drawn to that shade of orange. He's found his eyes following that color sometimes, and was usually disappointed. But this time... it's Trip. And judging by the look on his face, it's the same Trip Gold knows, even.
Well, dang. Is it really Tanabata? Gold can't help but recall that time they met among the bamboo decorations. The situation is far less magical today, though. Should he say what he said that time? Or maybe... Gold grins, then takes what he thinks of as a theatrical posture, one hand delicately held to his chest, the other reaching towards Trip, as if offering a dance.
"And so we are reunited, my Weaver Prince," he says with grandeur, but with a twinkle of playfulness in his eye.
He went overly casual last time, so this time he's taking the opposite approach! How's this, Trip?
(Drasiel is staring with utter bafflement. Gold's Pokemon, in their Pokeballs, are already used to this kinda thing.)
[1/2; when they're all dramatic?! And the Pokemon nurses have front row seats, I guess]
Frillish opened an eye just to see Drasiel's eyeroll and flushed furiously, before wilting even more dramatically. You! Will! Buy! His! Performance!!
Trip's stunned, blinking fast, colouring pink at being addressed as a prince. He couldn't really remember if it was or wasn't Tanabata, he might've seen the date when he glanced at a screen, but it's hard to recall right now and he's a little tongue-tied, but, he accepted the offered hand, just as delicately, bowing almost instinctively. He's never learned to curtsey!
After that, he seemed to have found his voice, with a smirk and dramatic flourish, he'll turn their hands up to lace fingers and pull Gold closer by the arm, even if he still only leaned forward with his upper half, keeping the rest of him further back.
"As loyal as ever, Miltank-Herder! Now, how should I reward you?"
[2/2]
Frillish, quite annoyed that all his drama's been ignored, will swim up through the air, between them, to land on Trip's arms.
"There you are, Frillish." So flippantly?! The insult! "Now, I heard Blissey and your laugh, so I'm going to have to assume Blissey had a good reason for all that. Given your track record..."
Frillish pouted even more.
"Still, it's good to have you back, safe and sound," he concluded and Frillish felt more at ease.
no subject
He goes along and lets Trip lead, grinning.
"My prince, your presence is reward enough!" Gold says. "But fear not! As a fellow terrible dancer, I shall step on your toes even more so nobody will notice a thing!"
And then Frillish gets in between, so Gold steps back to make room for him, just slightly disappointed. Oh well, it was good while it lasted.
"Yeah, he was pretending to be the nurse. But he gave me tea and cookies, so it's all good. You want some? There's an extra cup nobody's touched, since Drasiel didn't want it I guess." He glances at the Typhlosion, who just nods as she stands there, baffled.
("What was that all about? Is this one of those... dating things?") Drasiel asks. All of Gold's Pokemon chime in with a ("No") or a ("Probably not?") from their Pokeballs. (If Nerica the Togetic were here she'd probably stir the pot with a "yes" but alas, she's back with Silver.)
no subject
Frillish smiled innocently up at them (suspicious...), but Trip rolled his eyes. "Did he? Alright, Frillish, thank you for being a good host at least."
"Lish!" Frillish puffed with pride.
Trip brought out Frillish's pokeball to gently recall him.
"Tea would be nice, yeah."
It's cool enough inside (and he's a little cold in those clothes here), that he can enjoy the tea.
They could sit together and catch up.
"New Pokemon? Would this be Drasiel...? Or is that someone else?"
no subject
"Thanks, Frillish!" he says before the Pokemon disappears into the Pokeball.
"Yay, tea time!" Gold cheers, even though he's already had some tea. But tea time with Trip is a whole different thing!
"Yeah, that's Drasiel," Gold says as he sits down at the table. Drasiel nods a greeting at Trip. "She's not mine, though. I'm just borrowing her from Silver for a while." That reminds him! Gold gives a bright smile. "By the way, I managed to go home for a bit!"
He's definitely talked to Trip about how he wanted to go back to his world before, so he figures he owes him an update!
1/2
He'll bring out his camera to take Drasiel's picture, unless she or Gold object, of course.
"Oh? I'm really glad to hear that," Trip said with a smile, genuinely happy for his friend's sake.
Trip was pretty happy too, having gone home so many times too!
"Silver... your friend, right? I'm glad you got to see him."
2/2
He recalled that much from their first meeting, even if a lot of it was hazy from his hunger and exhaustion.
Maybe it's not the most polite thing to ask about, so early, but... Gold was always strangely easy to talk to, so it came naturally. Hopefully, given Gold's good mood, it was handled well.
no subject
"Me too!" Gold says. It was for a pretty short time, but he managed to reunite with Silver!
Gold doesn't look as serious as Trip about the attack on Goldenrod anymore, now that he's experienced it himself. So he just shrugs casually with a small smile.
"Pretty well," Gold says. "I mean, the Team Rocket grunts on the streets had their hands full trying to deal with the Gym Leader and her Miltank rolling all over them, so I mostly just wandered around looking for Silver, defeated some Rockets that tried to stop me, talked to people... And then I found him in the underground tunnel!"
Gold's smile drops then, and he gets a bit of a faraway look in his eyes. Silver... What went on between the two of them back there isn't something he wants to share with anyone. Not all of it, at least...
Gold sips some tea, thinking of what to say, before putting his smile back on and continuing.
"He was alright and all, but he wasn't, like, alright in a way where it'd be chill for him to walk out on his own, y'know? So I held his hand and lead him out of the city, and then told him to go to my dad's place while I went back and dealt with the rest of the Rockets. But since Silver didn't have any Pokemon that knew Fly, I let him borrow Nerica, and he let me borrow Drasiel in return. Then we split up, I called my dad, and headed back to Goldenrod City... But right when I stepped through the gate, bam! Ultern again." Gold sighs, long and drawn out. "Well, I did the most important thing I wanted to do, so I guess it's fine, but that's a weird moment to pick to send me back, right?"
no subject
It is weird timing, but when has this place ever cared about timing, really?
"Drifting is always weird, but... I'm glad you weren't taken before something else you'd have to worry about."
He can enjoy himself better like this, right?
Trip enjoyed the scent of the jasmine tea and sipped appreciatively, relaxing. It wasn't even too hot! (Probably because of the time spent dealing with Frillish... or the almost-dance...)
"I was just going down for a swim, taking a little time off, but ended up on the shores of Ultern instead."
Hence the beach wear.
no subject
"Yeah, he's in good hands," Gold says. His usual grin softens to something he hardly ever shows to anyone he's not close to. "After worrying about him for so long, it's a real relief to know just where he's gonna be the next time I go back. And it was great talking to my dad again, too..."
He takes a sip of his tea, still smiling. He only heard dad's voice on the phone, but it was enough. Dad still cared about him... It had been silly to think he wouldn't.
"Yeah, totally," Gold says, the usual grin back. "All I gotta do next time is storm the radio tower and fight the Rockets' temp boss or whatever, then drive them out. Can't be too hard!" It totally can, but he's not worried. He's got Umbar, after all.
"Oh, so that's why you were wearing that," Gold says. "Didn't really seem your style, I totally thought you were some other Trip." No he didn't, he's teasing. "Did your clothes get left behind in your world?"
[I decided to include the other suit jacket... Trip with orange jackets in different cuts]
Gold always did seem to like his father best. He's glad he has someone safe to return to...
"I'm sure you can do it!" Trip's pretty confident in Gold's skills too.
It's nice seeing these rarer expressions from Gold, too...
He laughed a little at Gold's joke, but with this place, he could have been... he tried to picture another him that was a total beach bum or surfer... maybe he'd be stronger and more athletic in that world!
"My clothes..."
His eyes widened, then, he frowned. "I did leave my usual suit jacket and pants there..."
Oh, but, at least...
He dug out another suit jacket, in the same shade of orange, that looked practically identical to the other one. "This one doesn't really suit me, but..."
He turned it over, pouting a little.
What's the difference? It's hard to tell just by looking! (It's an American suit jacket with a single vent, unlike the Italian cut he usually wears [that's more flattering on his smaller frame] that has no vent.)
no subject
"Sucks leaving stuff behind, but at least it was just clothes. Me, I left a whole Pokemon at home. How am I supposed to get to places without Nerica's flying? My Pokemon are gonna get all lonely without her, too!" Gold whines.
(Not like he'll get lonely, of course not. He just misses what she can do for him. If he focuses on that, he doesn't have to admit he misses having her around already.)
