Stardust Beach - Traveller
[A rather confused Trip might be found wandering the beach today! It seems he's drifted back in for the first time in a while (not counting his younger self who's been staying at the Professor's place)... well, at least he's already dressed for the beach, with a sun hat, (oversized, hiding nearly half his face) shades, capris, and a breezy (very orange) shirt! But, there's just one little problem...]

Pokemon Center - Takeover
[Nurse Emi was supposed to be off today, wasn't she? Yet, it seems she's come to work anyway! Quite the workaholic, isn't she? ... or is it her? She seems to be acting, well, strange...
She's lazily flung herself, ragdoll-like, as if she isn't quite sure what to do with her limbs, into a seat behind the desk and is rudely bossing around the Pokemon Nurses like a little despot! She didn't have to be here today, why is she being so mean?! Maybe she's not feeling well? It seems like nothing's good enough for her!
She isn't even really doing any work, she's mostly just... drinking jasmine tea. She's been drinking cup after cup of jasmine tea with no end in sight.]

Wait, who ate those treats you were saving? Are your Pokemon partners or other room mates mad at you and you have no idea why?]

Gold keeps eating while Trip reads his message! Huh, that's some face. When he hears what happened, Gold's chewing slows down, and he swallows properly before speaking.
"...Huh. That sucks." Losing a place that's like another home... Even if they fix it, it might not be the same as it was. Well, as long as it's a roof over your head, it should be fine, but... The idea of the same happening to Banyan's house or something bothers Gold even if he could find another place to stay in.
"Sounds like you gotta stay over here a while longer then."

It definitely sucks.
Fortunately, Professor Banyan's place is sturdier! And went through many renovations to fit it with the laboratory and such... not to mention, it's occupied, unlike Trip's nearly-abandoned little home... but it's also a very understandable fear for Gold to have!
"I guess so... sorry," Trip apologized, still a little averse to relying on others.
But, Gold's his friend and he offered to let him stay, so...
"You're not a light sleeper or anything, are you?" he asked, hoping his tone passed for light.

"Nah, I sleep like a log. You gotta flip my bed over if you wanna wake me up," Gold says with a grin. "Hey, if you're staying over, then you get to taste the burgers I'm making tomorrow! How much spice can you handle?"
His usual preference are Cinnabar Volcano burgers or something with a similar fiery spice level, but he'll tone it down for Trip's sake if needed! Regular old burgers aren't bad either, after all.

"I won't do anything like that... not asleep, anyway." At most, he might talk a little in his sleep, very quietly.
Don't worry, he won't do it awake, either! Well. Unless they really needed to wake Gold up—
Trip was just smiling appreciatively at the idea of Gold making burgers tomorrow, until the question. He might have gone pale.
"N-not much. Can I have it with, like, the least spices possible...?"

He figured! Well, he's fine with making non-spicy burgers, buuuut... Trip's reaction is pretty funny so he can't help but mess with him a little.
"Sure! I'll make you a spiceless burger without even a single grain of salt!" he says with a wide smile.

Do you want to try to convince him you can, Gold?"Not even salt?!" Trip blinked in surprise, then shook his head, smiling in amusement. "Are you some kind of genie like Hoopa? Don't make it too spicy, I don't mind other spices."

He huffed and turned away (well, in as much as he could while seated), arms crossed... he'll probably stop sulking soon enough to continue eating, he's hungry!
This was far from the only time he's gotten that kind of comment. He should probably not tell Gold his favourite chip flavour. ... well, he'll probably see eventually anyway... if it's a sleep-over, there's got to be snacks, right?
(It was salt and vinegar and Shamus called it "basic," like him.)

As expected, calling him things like plain or basic is the most effective way to tease Trip, even if Gold is calling himself the same thing!
"Yeah? How about sweet burgers for sweet boys then?" Gold keeps his face neutral even though he absolutely doesn't want sweet burgers or to call himself a 'sweet boy.' He's starting to catch stray shots from his own teasing...
(Gold would not call salt and vinegar chips "basic." Gold would call salt and vinegar chips "his least favorite." This bodes problems for the snack talk.)

He likes this even less! He likes this in negative values! Sweets are for little kids, is he being called a little kid;wait!
He's pretty sure he can turn this around again and tease Gold!
[That's twice in one day...]
(Fortunately[?], those are not the only snacks Trip has on hand! There's plenty of trail mix [mixed with chocolates] and other savoury and sweet snacks... how about Goldeen Crackers? Or questionably saccharine, supposedly peanut butter-flavoured candies? Unsupervised ten year old purchases...)

"Y-you win, you win, I give up," he manages between giggles and then keeps laughing. (<-Since when was this a contest, Gold?)
(Gold won't say no to snacks, even if they're salt and vinegar chips! But he'll gladly leave those to Trip and eat other stuff.)

"So, what's up? Done anything fun recently?" he asks to break the silence while working. He hasn't met Trip in a while, so there's gotta be a lot to catch up on.

"They only recently established a league... Ash is their first Champion. Anyway, Alola's a little like Ultern! The people are pretty warm and the community's tight-knit. It's sunny and warm, the beaches are beautiful. I took lots of pictures too, of course. That's basic stuff."
Oh, yeah, now that he thinks about it..
"Did you get a chance to do anything other than deal with Team Rocket and help your friend?"
Working together, they're finished in no time! Dishes washed, dried, and returned.

Another place that might be neat to visit... but if it's that similar to Ultern, maybe not right away after he's gotten home.
"Nah, I was only in my world for a short time. It was kinda weird, now that I think about it. It's not like I forgot about Ultern totally, but when I returned it felt like I'd never been gone at all. Like everything here was at the back of my mind as something that happened long time ago or... something. I dunno. Whatever." Gold shrugs and washes his hands.

All clean! He'll step out and, seeing Pignite done eating, picked her up with a smile.
She quickly curled up again his chest and he carried her the rest of the way.
"No one's heard of it back home, either, right? ... especially since we go back right to the time we came from, it doesn't feel real..."

Like a dream... That's a pretty accurate description. Sounds like his experience is normal, then.
He'll follow wherever Trip's going with Marldia.
"Didn't really think to ask anybody if they'd heard about it though. I do know a guy who's world has an Ultern, but with a different name and less, y'know, Ultern-y." Gold waves his hand vaguely. "Don't remember what it's called, but anyway, it could exist in another world too."
[Marldia is still a Tepig, sausages and beans on rice are not Rare Candy good]
That's actually interesting! Trip glanced back at Gold, as he made his way up the stairs.
Truthfully, Trip was tired after all of Frillish's shenanigans, after having a meal, he really did just want to rest...
"Wait. If the name is different and it's not as... Ultern-y, how is it Ultern?"

"I dunno, I think it was like, it was similar in other ways?" Gold shrugs. Not very descriptive, Gold... "You could ask him. It's Ken from the radio, so you can just call his show if you wanna."
Trip did leave Ultern before Gold met Ken, but he probably would've heard him on the radio if he ever listens to it!

"... oh, yeah, I remember that guy. I heard his voice a few times."
Mostly when the radio was on in public places or someone else was listening... he's not really into the idea of calling into a radio shows—he vaguely felt like he might freeze and fail to speak when they put him on, which was more humiliation than he really needed. They read letters on those things sometimes, right? ... or social media posts. Maybe he could mention him on Pippi or something...

He goes to grab a futon from wherever they're kept and bring it to his floor, but he doesn't do much more than dump it on the floor before he climbs into his bed and burrows under the covers.
"G'night... don' burn house down..." he mumbles before he's asleep.
