Stardust Beach - Traveller
[A rather confused Trip might be found wandering the beach today! It seems he's drifted back in for the first time in a while (not counting his younger self who's been staying at the Professor's place)... well, at least he's already dressed for the beach, with a sun hat, (oversized, hiding nearly half his face) shades, capris, and a breezy (very orange) shirt! But, there's just one little problem...]
... have you seen my Frillish?
Pokemon Center - Takeover
[Nurse Emi was supposed to be off today, wasn't she? Yet, it seems she's come to work anyway! Quite the workaholic, isn't she? ... or is it her? She seems to be acting, well, strange...
She's lazily flung herself, ragdoll-like, as if she isn't quite sure what to do with her limbs, into a seat behind the desk and is rudely bossing around the Pokemon Nurses like a little despot! She didn't have to be here today, why is she being so mean?! Maybe she's not feeling well? It seems like nothing's good enough for her!
She isn't even really doing any work, she's mostly just... drinking jasmine tea. She's been drinking cup after cup of jasmine tea with no end in sight.]
Home - Trick
[Not at the beach or the Pokemon Center today? That's alright, a bored and mischievous Ghost type Pokemon could bring chaos and confusion to your home, too! Is that where you left that thing? Wait, who ate those treats you were saving? Are your Pokemon partners or other room mates mad at you and you have no idea why?]

"You - haha - you think I don't know that?! Me?!"
As if he hasn't learned the effects of spoiled food from personal experience! As if he wasn't more wary than anyone of food going past expiration date in the past! Ah, man... Gold almost forgot what a prissy kid Trip was. He appreciates Trip looking out for him, but how ironic to get warned about that of all things.
no subject
"I—" his voice jumped higher for added embarrassment. "Okay! Okay, fine, that was stupid. You know better, but..."
no subject
"Heh heh. Thanks for the totally unnecessary worrying, Trip! But I know better than anybody what spoiled food does," he says, still grinning widely.
He pats Trip on the shoulder briefly for reassurance if Trip allows it. Really, he appreciates it!
no subject
He then puts his hands on his hips, huffing a little.
... followed by an elbow to Gold's side—no force to it, it's a pretty harmless nudge!
"It wasn't that funny. Besides, we're almost there."
no subject
"It totally was!"
But seeing Banyan's lab, his smile shrinks a little as he marvels at the house, a little nervous. But that eases when some of the Pokemon living around the house recognize him and come running, including Trip's Tepig.
"Ah, hey there!" he says, kneeling to greet them, then lifts his shopping bag above his head out of reach for little Pokemon. "Nope, not for you- Hey now, whatcha doing greeting me, your trainer's right there!"
He points Tepig in Trip's direction. Sure, Gold's been taking care of Tepig, so maybe it recognized his scent first, but it's gotta remember its actual trainer too!
no subject
"Long time no see," he said, rather casually, before crouching low to give Tepig a few pats on the head as she sniffed. "... maybe you could have some of the food after."
no subject
Tepig is basically an honorary Johto starter nowadays! He pats all the other Pokemon greeting him on the head, each just once, and carefully navigates his way around to the door without tripping, stepping anyone's tail, or letting any of them to his food bag. The door's probably open as usual... Yep, just as expected, Professor Banyan's got no security.
[Oops, a long one!]
Ah, life in Ultern... it was very shocking and worrying to Trip when he first encountered it and... he still preferred locking his own door, to be honest, but he could understand why so many leave their front doors open.
He'll wash up! It'll be easy to cut the sausages after they'd thawed out along the journey, but he's even happier to find there's warm rice in the rice cooker.
"Looks like we'll have rice with it after all!"
Lucky...
He'll slice and cook the sausages in oil until they're browned, Gold's sausages first, then clean, cook his the same way, then put each of them aside... and a smaller bowl for Tepig to eat, who'll be very curiously sniffing around. "It's a little dangerous down there, so, why don't you go wait at the table?"
Tepig's a little disappointed, sad-eyed...
He relented and gave the smaller bowl of sausages to Tepig, but ushered her outside, for easier cooking.
[Yay, a long one!]
Caught up in unexpected emotions, Gold keeps his face an even mask and turns away.
"She's gonna need a nickname if she's coming home with me," Gold says as he keeps his voice carefully casual, and puts his purchases away in the fridge and the pantry.
(He may have a nickname he's been mentally calling Tepig already.)
"Anyway, I'm gonna go check up on my room!" Gold calls out before running off and up the stairs, half to escape before he accidentally starts crying or something, and half because he did want to check if his room is still his room.
[Glad you appreciate it! ;3;/]
Trip focused on the cooking, but as he was making a slurry of mashed-up red beans, while leaving the other half whole, he recalled Gold's earliest attempts to give him a nickname with a mild panic, and thought he should go after Gold...! Oh, but he didn't want the food to burn...
Fine, he'll see Gold after he's done checking out his room. He has to save Tepig from a nickname like Tiptip or Pigpig!
Adding the appropriate spices (because he now keeps some in his backpack) and chopped green onion (only because Professor Banyan actually has some.. otherwise, he would've just tossed in only whatever frozen vegetables or canned vegetables he could find.)
The food will be ready soon! It already smelled great. He might leave his bottle of spices for Gold to add more, if he liked food spicy... He'll add more spices to Tepig's (second) bowl, too...
Meanwhile, Gold will find the room as he left it... carefully maintained, as Professor Banyan kept it clean and dusted, so it didn't even look abandoned!
no subject
It's a relief to see his room just the way he left it. There isn't even much dust... Not only had Professor Banyan left it the way it was, he was preparing for Gold to return. What the heck, that's sweet of him...
The still-boxed toy Gold had bought as a present for Silver is where Gold had left it on his desk, and he picks it up to look at it. He didn't get to give it to Silver since he'd left it here. Maybe he should start carrying it in his bag from now on instead?
Anyway, since everything's where Gold left it, he can feel at ease. Dropping his backbag off and placing the toy on top of it to remind himself later, he heads down again, stomping down the stairs.
"Hey! That smells great!" Gold says as he enters the kitchen. He does love spices, so he'll gladly add some more for himself!
"Anyway, how's Marldia for a nickname? That's what I've been calling your Tepig in my head." He just gets Marldia vibes from her, what can he say.
no subject
"... thanks!"
"Marldia?" Trip repeated as he sat down.
Tepig happily ran over, to rub at his ankles, then, bumped her nose against Gold's legs, too. She's happily wagging her round and springy tail.
It sounded like a name, but not a name Trip's ever heard before, at least, not combined that way. "It sounds nice. Elegant, even. I don't like giving silly nicknames to Pokemon, but you usually give Pokemon good names." She didn't need rescuing after all!
Marldia will happily munch at her spicy bowl of beans and veggies, after having finished her sausages earlier!
"Well, enjoy. I took some shortcuts, but it still tastes good. I've made it a couple of times now... always a hit!"
At least, with him and his Pokemon?
He set down some rice to add to the dish, too!
no subject
He'll kneel down to pet Marldia and let her sniff his fingers when she ran over. "Yup, Marldia. That's your name, huh?" he says to her before standing up again.
"Yeah? I just call them like I see them. She seems like she'd be named Marldia," Gold says simply with a shrug. Can't accept a compliment for something that doesn't feel like it was even his doing.
"Thanks!" Beans, veggies, sausages and rice! Gold sits down happily to chow down, but glances at Marldia's redder-looking food. That looks nice and spicy... But Gold will taste his own food before adding any extra spices! And judging from the look on his face and how fast he's chewing, it's a hit with Gold, too!
no subject
Trip's glad! He's a little surprised that Gold wants it that spicy, but, that's a similarity with Marldia too... he half-wondered if they rubbed off on each other. He laughed a little and enjoyed his meal (much less spicy than his two friends'.)
"It's been a long time since I've been here, I wonder if someone else lives where I did last time?"
no subject
"Hm? Nah, not last time I checked. I guess it's been a while here since then, though. But I guess you can crash here if that place is taken." It's an offer casually said, but not lightly given! But Trip already knows Gold doesn't let just anyone stay at his place.

Trip looked up, surprised, eyes wide, but then, once the initial shock wore off enough for him to react, he smiled warmly.
"I'd like that... thanks."
It could be fun! He already trusted Gold plenty and Professor Banyan clearly took good care of the Pokemon and the kids who stayed here, so....
2/2
"... looks like no one's moved in, but it needs some repairs. Part of the roof caved in the last storm," Trip said.
Sure is monsoon season...
no subject
Gold keeps eating while Trip reads his message! Huh, that's some face. When he hears what happened, Gold's chewing slows down, and he swallows properly before speaking.
"...Huh. That sucks." Losing a place that's like another home... Even if they fix it, it might not be the same as it was. Well, as long as it's a roof over your head, it should be fine, but... The idea of the same happening to Banyan's house or something bothers Gold even if he could find another place to stay in.
"Sounds like you gotta stay over here a while longer then."
no subject
It definitely sucks.
Fortunately, Professor Banyan's place is sturdier! And went through many renovations to fit it with the laboratory and such... not to mention, it's occupied, unlike Trip's nearly-abandoned little home... but it's also a very understandable fear for Gold to have!
"I guess so... sorry," Trip apologized, still a little averse to relying on others.
But, Gold's his friend and he offered to let him stay, so...
"You're not a light sleeper or anything, are you?" he asked, hoping his tone passed for light.
no subject
"Nah, I sleep like a log. You gotta flip my bed over if you wanna wake me up," Gold says with a grin. "Hey, if you're staying over, then you get to taste the burgers I'm making tomorrow! How much spice can you handle?"
His usual preference are Cinnabar Volcano burgers or something with a similar fiery spice level, but he'll tone it down for Trip's sake if needed! Regular old burgers aren't bad either, after all.
no subject
"I won't do anything like that... not asleep, anyway." At most, he might talk a little in his sleep, very quietly.
Don't worry, he won't do it awake, either! Well. Unless they really needed to wake Gold up—
Trip was just smiling appreciatively at the idea of Gold making burgers tomorrow, until the question. He might have gone pale.
"N-not much. Can I have it with, like, the least spices possible...?"
no subject
He figured! Well, he's fine with making non-spicy burgers, buuuut... Trip's reaction is pretty funny so he can't help but mess with him a little.
"Sure! I'll make you a spiceless burger without even a single grain of salt!" he says with a wide smile.
no subject
In that... you can't actually do that. He's pretty sure, anyway.
Do you want to try to convince him you can, Gold?"Not even salt?!" Trip blinked in surprise, then shook his head, smiling in amusement. "Are you some kind of genie like Hoopa? Don't make it too spicy, I don't mind other spices."
no subject
"Hey, shoulda been more specific," Gold says with a snicker, then pumps his fist. "Alright, plain burgers for plain boys it is!"
