New Arrivals

Turnbloom City

A pink-haired young man is walking around with an Eevee riding on his shoulder. They admire the wares at the Marketplace, examining clothes, souvenirs, and food. They find the latter especially delightful. If you happen to see them and catch the man's eye, he will greet you with,

"Hello! This is a charming place, isn't it? We like it very much, but would you happen to know the way back to Alola? Or Kalos?"

The Eevee chirps in greeting.

The land remains, the land endures

Arrival, Part 1

Anyone walking out on Stardust Beach might be surprised to see someone new, a young man with brown hair lying facedown in the sand, groaning. A Carnivine hovers over him worriedly, drifting back and forth in what looks like the equivalent of pacing. Finally, he turns over, looking up at her.

"Ugh, Macy...where are we?"

"Vine..." She sounds just as confused as he is.

Arrival, Part 2

Meanwhile, Turnbloom Gym now has a young teen hanging around outside, face pressed against the glass as they observe the gym interior. They're holding a carved walking stick that seems way too tall for them. After a bit, they try to wave down a passerby.

"Hey! Do you know where we are? And have you seen my dad?"

Flotsam

A. A VOYAGER INTO THE ETHER (Stardust Beach)

[There's a new face wandering up and down the beach just as the sun breaks over the horizon. Calla has her shoes kicked off, tucked carefully into the bag at her side, and has her bare toes buried in the sand. There's a female Nidoran next to her making warning chittering noises every now and then as her Trainer walks.]

Nicer temperature. Sunrise is prettier, too. -Hey, Medea, d'you think this is just like on TV? An adventure? [The Nidoran huffs.] A second one, maybe.

[She kneels down to let a handful of sand trickle through her fingers.] Lookit the stars. I wonder if Mom would like a letter home with some sand in it.

[She turns her head to look at someone passing by.]

D'you think that'd be a good gift?

B. DREAM OF A WILD RAGING OCEAN (Turnbloom City/wildcard)

[Calla's shed her jacket, tying it around her waist to keep it safe. Already there's sweat beading on her forehead; someone, it seems, doesn't agree with the warmer climate of Ultern. Right now, she's staring intently at a small kiosk selling sweets like she expects it to evaporate the moment she turns her gaze away.]

Zenzai's not cold, mister, it's supposed 'ta be warm! [The man selling behind the counter is gentle about correcting her mistake, at least?] How does that even work, anyway, wouldn't the shaved ice just make the beans all mushy?

[Calla looks at the loose change in her hands, sighs, then looks up at a sudden interruption.]

Do you have a couple more coins? 'M hot and I don't have enough for anything.

Intro post

A. RADIO: Anywhere in Ohritori or Chura

[If you've tuned in to the radio before noon, you may have heard this handsome, soothing voice before, talking about local Pokemon, notifying listeners of Pokemon swarms. Today, too, if you happen to be listening to the favorite radio channel of Chura Islands, you can hear him.]

-You're listening to Chura Radio, and this is Ken, coming to you live with Ken's Pokemon Talk. How's everyone doing today? It's a pretty steamy day, so I bet you're all holed up inside with the AC turned on, or gone out to swim. Make sure you're all drinking water!

Today, we're not just talking about Pokemon, we're talking about your Pokemon. The theme is... [drumroll] ...a destined encounter with a Pokemon! A Pokemon that ended up being your best friend, a meeting that felt like destiny, or a meeting that you couldn't have known would end up that important! Call in now and tell us a story about your fateful Pokemon encounter, whether it's a Pokemon you caught or not!

-And we've got our next caller! Hi there, what's your name?

B. IN PERSON: Port Opportune

[In the afternoon, after the radio show's long over, you can see a young man in Ulternian-style clothes sitting at the pier, fanning himself with a paper fan, looking like he's about melting.]

It's too hoooot.... I want to eat shaved ice... But I don't wanna moooove...

[Then he notices somebody's looking at him, and straightens his back and gives a bright smile.]

Hi there! Hot day, huh?

((ooc: intro post, but IC he's drifted to Ultern and has been living in Chura Islands for a while! This is Ken, the protagonist's brother from the early demo version of Gold/Silver, who became a DJ in a romhack based on that demo! Long story short, he's a locally famous DJ in Ultern now! Call in to his radio show or meet him in person!))

Through space AND time... [Volo has arrived!]

A. STARDUST BEACH

Volo gets woken up by the sensation of water lapping at his outstretched fingertips.

The cave where he often sleeps lies beneath a waterfall. Did he somehow roll out of the cave in his sleep, all the way down onto the banks of the river? No, that's ridiculous! Then it could only be...the cave is flooding and he needs to get out right now!

When he opens his eyes and sits up, rather than staring into the darkness of a cave, he's greeted by bright early morning sun. It's warmer than any sunlight he's ever felt before. Instead of cold stone beneath his bedroll, there are grains of star-shaped sand...and his bedroll is steadily getting soaked, as a tide rolls in.

Volo jumps to his feet and yanks his bedroll away from the water's edge. His large backpack is still safe, but when he looks in the other direction, he sees his smaller satchel - with his Pokémon! - slowly being dragged down the shore by the waves, a short distance away.

"No...! No, no, no!" He starts running, but will he get to it in time?

B. OUTSIDE THE POKéMON CENTRE, TURNBLOOM CITY

Volo has been sitting on a bench opposite the Pokémon Centre for a long time now. He's not quite sure how he got there; he just started walking aimlessly, shaken up by what had happened on the beach. His trousers are soaked up to the knees, and he clutches his satchel tightly to his stomach. At least his Pokémon are all safe!

As the shock wears off, he becomes fascinated by the motion of the Pokémon Centre doors, which seem to open and close as if by magic, whenever somebody approaches. Are people controlling them with their minds? It's clear that he's not in Hisui anymore, and he has so many questions...but who can he ask?

Volo begins to stare keenly at any passers-by, taking in their strange clothes and strange habits, eager to get their attention but unsure what might be culturally acceptable, here and now. If he manages to make eye contact with anyone, he'll smile and start up some generic small talk, hoping that someone will stick around.

"Hello. Nice day, isn't it? Might I trouble you for just a moment...?"

C. TURNTERRACE ROAD (ON THE WAY TO GILTERRACE TOWN)

Volo got too tired and overheated to walk any further, so now he's riding on the back of a Pokémon that looks like an Arcanine, but slightly bigger, and with darker, thicker fur. She must be hot, too, in this weather. She's walking slowly, pausing for a rest every so often.

Volo has taken off his outer layers of clothing and his boots, but he's still not dressed for this weather. And poor Miss Arcanine still has to carry them upon her back, and him, and his heavy backpack, and his bedroll that now stinks of seawater...!

In trying to make some sense of his surroundings, Volo thinks he recognises this area as some kind of farmland. But he can't figure out the huge metal contraptions in the distance. They are so tall, and they seem to have rapidly spinning blades, which is quite a disturbing thought. What are they for?

If a shadow falls across their path, Volo will wearily lift his head just to ask: "Excuse me...? We really need to find fresh water, and a place to camp. Do you know if there's a river or a lake nearby?"

(( OOC: This is a post-canon Volo who's basically been living banished in the wilds of Hisui, after the events of Pokémon Legends: Arceus. So, besides being from a different century, he hasn't been around other human beings or civilisation for quite a while either... ))

arrival

i. turnbloom city

[Between one moment and the next, a man appears on the side of the street. Crystals glisten in the light as he moves - encrusted along the edges and sleeves of his lab coat, and seemingly even embedded in the skin of one of his hands. Despite that, he doesn't seem distressed - just surprised, maybe.]

...where is this...?

[When would seem to be the more pertinent question, except that this...very much does not look like a future iteration of Area Zero. The amount of time that it would take for the crater to wear away, or for the ocean to rise and reach so close...it's possible, of course. Their calculations determined that the future the machine reached into was extremely distant! But, still - those are very regular Pokemon flying overhead.

For a moment, something unfamiliar lances through him, bright as the sun. He's outside. He's free. He can go anywhere he wants, speak with anybody he wants - !

At least. For a little while.

It's possible that he was putting a good face on things for the children. The truth is, he couldn't have been sure what he'd find on the other side of the portal. Now that he's here...there's no crystals. Exactly the reason he was never able to leave Area Zero in the first place.

.....

That's alright. He'll do what he can. He looks around, apparently chooses a direction, and turns to walk down the street, still shedding tiny shards of crystal with every movement.]

ii. overlook hill

[On top of Overlook Hill, Turo sits on the edge of the viewing platform, looking out over the landscape spread out below. It's beautiful. He's never seen anything like it before. The Professor had, but not for years now - not a priority.

The internal diagnostic he was running completes. No significant damage, and no sign of an imminent shutdown yet...but it must be coming, right? He's only crashed for lack of Tera crystals once before, and he hadn't known it would happen then until it did.

He wishes he could speak with...

Well. He can't. Anyone at all might be nice, but there's little point. It'd be alarming for someone to watch him suddenly topple over, apparently and effectively dead, and that doesn't seem very fair. So he'll just wait, here outside in a brand new place.]

Oh? [Though, if someone else comes up here - he can't help that, now can he?] Good afternoon.

Arrival

Two newcomers have just arrived in Turnbloom City. A human girl with red-violet hair looks around in confused fascination.

"This isn't where we just were," she says, concerned. "It's beautiful, but what is this place?"

An adorable female Eevee isn't concerned at all. "Eevee-Eevee-Eevee!" she squeals, scampering ahead to look at everything.

"Eevee, wait!" the girl exclaims. "We should be careful until we know more!"

But Eevee bounces along. This place doesn't look dangerous at all!

Seeing it's hopeless, the girl gives chase.

In the turning, flowing wind, I sing alone

There’s a little girl, dressed in a light, summery dress, with matching white sandals, arriving on Stardust Beach, blinking at the sunlight and feeling the coastal wind on her face and tasting the salty sea-scent of the air.
For a time, she’s absolutely stunned, daring not to move (has her imagination ever been this strong?!), then, without really meaning to, she’s forced to take a few steps (the wind is so strong!), that she steps into wet sand and realizes she couldn’t just be imagining this. It’s a little too soggy and gross. She decides, then, maybe it was the last few years that were a very bad, very long, and very strange dream (although she liked the Pokemon…), and this was reality! She giggles and takes off her sandals, putting them higher up on dry sand (hot, hot!), before rushing back to the wet sand to play.

She twirls and spins and laughs, but when she turns back around, searching the beach, she cannot find her mama or her papa.

“… didn’t we go together? We’re at the beach now…”

Wasn’t the car crash and everything else a dream? She couldn’t have gotten here on her own! It’s true it’s not the same beach she knew and even the people looked a bit different, but maybe they just went on a very, very long trip!

Question 1: Vacation?
Ai decided to ask around on the beach, gently tapping shoulders and tugging on sleeves.
“Excuse me, have you seen my papa or my mama? Um, papa’s hair is much more wavy than mine, but grey, and he has a nose this long…”

Question 2: Heaven?
She had to find her parents! They had to be here, right? Because if they weren’t… then the car crash and these past years weren’t all a dream… then, maybe she’s just gone on ahead to Heaven? So she decided, in between asking about her parents, she’ll also ask some people if this place were Heaven!
“Excuse me, is this Heaven?”
Ai thought this was a very clever way to find out more quickly, than if she had only asked everyone one question, then started all over with the next one. She should find her answer quicker this way!

Sand

Ai had never seen sand that looked like this before! It was so pretty and mysterious. Almost like konpeito! But she knew better than to try and taste it… although she really did feel tempted to. It looked so pretty… she sat down and held grains up to the sunlight and wondered if the stars fell down and turned to sand or if the entire island was one very big star broken up into many little stars… oh, but it wasn’t hot or shining, like the sun, were they stars that went out, like switched-off lights or snuffed-out candles? Ai kept wondering, while rolling the little grain between her fingertips.

Whatever they were, they were pretty, so Ai wanted to collect some sand, along with seashells and bits of seaweed and anything else.

Intro post!

[ Even if he didn't have an impeccable sense of direction, the sudden change in climate and scenery would have told Bashou that he didn't just wander off course during his hike. First, the trees seemed to disappear from view. When his compass and map offered no help, Bashou felt he had little choice but to continue. And now there's a town ahead, where none should have existed.

Bashou's thermal running clothes, which had been perfect for a sheltered forest in Kanto, were fast becoming sweltering hot. Overheating affects a person's mental faculties. He would need new clothes. And so he continues on to the town, where the signs and sound of the local dialect confirms to him that he's truly not in Kanto anymore.
]

A : TURNBLOOM MARKET

[ Perhaps not surprisingly, given the weather, it's difficult to find anything that isn't shorts. Bashou hates shopping for clothes, and so he's irritable by the time he steps out of the marketplace, dressed in a pair of lightweight wide-legged trousers (well, they look wide-legged on him) and an oversized shirt.

He's forgotten to remove the tags from his new clothes, because he has a more pressing concern: his stomach has been rumbling for a few hours now. Lack of proper food, too, can affect a person's ability to think clearly. Fortunately, Bashou was prepared for this; it was only his ghastly but necessary shopping trip that got in the way.

He flops down onto the nearest bench with a heavy sigh, takes a large bento box and chopsticks out of his rucksack, and digs in like a ravenous animal. After a minute or so, he releases his Absol next to him, and gives her the odd scrap now and again. Whatever they're eating, it must be good. ]

B : THE GATEWAY PORT

[ You might sense that this man's not the type who would usually start a conversation, but he's been driven to it by despair. Though his voice remains quiet and his expression blank, there's an undertone of frustration as Bashou checks out the schedule and list of destinations. ]

This makes no sense. Why don't I recognise any of these place names? If I could just get to Alola, that would be something...

C : THE POKéMON CENTER

[ As a Rocket, Bashou has hardly ever set foot in one of these places. Even though he's not wearing a uniform to give him away, he feels like all eyes are on him as he walks through the door and hesitates. Most trainers would probably know their way around any Pokémon Center, since they're all largely the same (so he's heard). It must look odd that he doesn't seem to know what he's doing here.

When he senses someone hovering close by, Bashou wonders if he's standing in an inconvenient place. He flinches and steps aside, trying to look casual. ]

Oh, no, I'm not here for the...healing. Or the storage system. I'm just...I thought they might have maps in here. I need a map. That's all. I apologise if I was in your way.

// Hope this is ok for a first post! Always fun trying to come up with interaction openings for a guy who isn't fond of interacting lmao

[Intro] ¡Hola, Ultren!

[Route 1]

[If you're passing through Route 1 right now, you may notice it's a bit noisy right now. Just as you are on your way, you hear a young girl's shout.]

¡Ey! Out of the way!

[Before you know it, a purple dragon resembling a motorcycle suddenly passes through you before stopping Akira-style right in front of you. The dragon Pokemon seems a bit...mechanized compared to the ones you saw with its LED blue eyes with silver antennas attached to its eyelids and its throat and curled tail resembling glowing blue and yellow wheels before they turned back into silver.

The rider got off the dragon's back and rushes to you, which turns out to be an 11-years-old girl with her hair braided with a red and white hairclip and wore some sort of a school uniform consisting of light purple shirt with purple necktie, brown leather backpack with a grape emblem hanging on the side, purple shorts, black long socks, and brown loafers.]

¡Lo siento mucho! I didn't see you there. Are you okay?

[Turnbloom City]

[If you're in the area, you might see a young girl in a purple school uniform wandering around the city. Looks normal.

Until you noticed a purple cyborg dragon walking around by her side while happily carrying a subway sandwich in its mouth.

Do you want to interact with both of them or just a sandwich-loving dragon?]

[Intro] A Kalosian Professor Appears!

[Drifted into Route 1]

[Being drifted into the Ultern Region seems to be a confusing phenomenon. One moment, Professor Sycamore was in his lab. Then the next thing he knew, he was at the beach standing in front of the sea just as he left to get some coffee at a nearby café. And that's after he noticed that he still has his lab coat on. Well, this isn't the weirdest thing he ever encounters in his life. If anything, finding out where he was transported is the least of his worries.]

[Turnbloom City]

[For some dumb luck reason, Professor Sycamore manages to find his way in Turnbloom City. While he was still wandering around to check out the sites of the city, it doesn't mean he doesn't have time to introduce himself to the locals and other Drifters.]

Why hello! I mean, Ulsai! I was hoping you might recommend me some cafes available here in Turnbloom.

[Otherwise, if you like, you can approach him while he looks around the city.]

[Intro] A Big Arrival

[... Listen, AZ is used to drifting places, but this? This is a new one. At least all of his pokemon are with him - including Floette. He lets her out of her ball immediately as soon as he wakes up.]

[His coat is... heavy, but he doesn't change his clothes. He doesn't fit in any of the clothes that he might buy here anyway.]

Turnbloom City

[A shadow might fall over you or your pokemon. Large, imposing... fluffy? Well, that definitely is long white hair poking out from his hat, and the giant man seems to be curious about what's around him. He looks down and takes a step back from whomever he was going to bump into, looking around.]

S... sorry...

[He tugs his hat down a little more to hide his eyes, nervously trying to figure out a route to escape to.]

Route 1

[There's someone by the lighthouse... you might be forgiven for mistaking him for a pokemon, but no - it's just a very large man. He does seem to have an unusual set of pokemon around him - a Torkoal, a Golurk, a Sigilyph, and a... small pokemon that's hard to see until you get close, but it's a strangely-colored Floette.]

[They're sitting at the edge of the cape and he's dangling his legs off the side of the cliffs. His hat is off, so his fluffy hair is on full display.]

Intro post - Winding up in Ultern

[STARDUST BEACH]

It's a windy day in Ohritori Island. Not stormy, but the waves are high. And on Stardust Beach, a man is standing alone, watching the waves. He's tall and thin as a beanpole, wearing an oversized plain white T-shirt that makes him look even thinner, like the wind could make him fall over any moment now. But he stands there without falling, motionless. It's a bit of an eerie sight.

If you approach him, he looks at you, hair blowing in his face and covering most of it.

"...Not Alola," is how he greets you.

[POKEMON CENTER]

Later, you can find Red sitting at the cafe in the Pokemon Center, hair still a complete mess from the wind, typing on his phone and ignoring a cooling cup of tea front of him. There's a slightly grumpy Pikachu, also with wind-frazzled fur, sitting on his table and nibbling on a rainbow Pokebean.

But if you're not at the Pokemon Center, you might instead see a post on Pippi, the Ulternian version of Twitter.

[INTRO] X-ing over to a new land!

[WHERE: The entrance of Gilterrace Town.

X is taking a step forward only to stop. There's a dumbfounded look on his face as he's very obviously examining his surroundings. Slowly but surely his expression is becoming less and less expressive. While he doesn't say the question that's weighing his mind, he can be seen through out the town. His steps are on the quick side, as if looking for something or someone.]

[WHEN: Afternoon

X can be found on route 1--with a Pokedex in hand. There's an group of Ulternian Sunkerns frolicking about, minding their own business. X here just seemed absolutely baffled as his Pokedex not only recognize the Pokemon before him--but they were registering as a normal Sunkern.

Why was that...?

He seemed to be engrossed with his Pokedex, even with a Kangaskhan sitting directly behind him.]

[WHY: was he here?

Stubbornly refusing to return to town, X is setting up camp over at the Shrouded Woods. By setting camp it's more like he's found a hollow tree trunk and sitting there, not moving. He's tired, and he's given up on walking. Surely no one would come to look for him inside a tree trunk. No one suspicious, anyway.]

(ooc: come pester X from PokeSpe! He's a little bit before the epilogue but he shouldn't be as anti-social as he was near the start of his journey--)

mysterious places, perfect harmony

[Someplace in Turnbloom City is a wandering Yamask equipped with a small leather backpack and gold bracers. His arms are curled, hands planted firmly in the straps of his backpack as he takes in the sights and sounds of this new place. He can be spotted at several different locations.]

[A] Stardust Beach

[Chenzira's closely inspecting the sand. He's experienced the sands of Goldenrod Bay and the Sevii Islands but never has he seen anything like this! He grabs a handful and holds it close to get a better look at it. He should bring some back for his trainer...!]

[B] Turnbloom Market

[With a tiny coin purse in hand, the Yamask mutters a "oou-sigh" to one of the shop owners and points to a peach. When the owner tells him the price, Chen looks down at his fingers, humming in thought. He should have enough but...

He looks up to the person next to him, waving a hand to get their attention.]

Suu... 'Guuse me...

[It appears he's forgotten how much his coin translates to and needs help counting.]

[C] Rainbow Plaza

[Chenzira's staring up at the Ferris Wheel, mouth agape. It's so big...! He's seen tall buildings before but never a moving one! And there's people inside. Wow! Plus there's so many different games to play. He wishes his trainer was here so he could experience this all with him...

Obviously pokémon by themselves probably aren't allowed to ride the ferris alone. Not that he'd want to anyways. So instead he just floats there awkwardly, hoping maybe someone will come to his aide and take him on the ferris wheel with them - or play some of the other games with him.]

[ooc: Chenzira here is capable of some human speech but it's rather limited. He has trouble with pronouncing hard consonant though. If your character is capable of understanding pokémon though he's perfectly understandable outside of being mumbly.]

to a wanderer, the unfamiliar is a comfort.

i.
( the sight from the highest vantage point certainly has a way of making a girl feel invincible.

to find a good spot to plot out her surroundings is a good way to orient herself in a new space. she'd be loathe to be caught completely unawares, no matter how friendly the denizens of this island may be. from here, the glittering sea, the canopy of forest, the din of the city and beyond offers her promises of secrets to be uncovered, and experiences to be had.

speaking of which, to whomever might find sharing the space and views with her:
)

Pick a direction for me?

( she doesn't care who answers. if she had a proper map, she would've thrown a dart at it to make her decision, but this ought to do too. )

ii.

( all work and no play makes for a very dull girl.

this time, the woman can be found wandering about the rainbow plaza. maybe she's encountered trying to cheat at a carnival game, or smooth talking her way into having another round because she totally doesn't think that last go should've counted.

or maybe, if you're the unlucky sap she's squeezed in onto the gondola with (patience isn't a virtue for this one, apparently. but why wait a few more minutes for the next ride when she can just join this one?)
)

Thanks for letting me hop in! ( not that she gave anyone much of an option. and now they're trapped in here with her! she winks. ) Chilly out there, huh?

Under the Ulternian Sun!

[Elio emerges riding on top of a very large lion Pokemon: Solgaleo. He's rushing on by while waving to people with one hand, and carrying what looked to be a present in another.]

Ulsai everybody!

[He's friendly! It seemed like he wasn't in too big of a hurry despite riding on top of Solgaleo. Although it seemed like he had a destination in mind as he'll eventually be seen over at Route 1. It's then he hops off of Solgaleo, patting the Sunne Pokemon and sighing.]

I thought I'd find Nebby around here somewhere... you think Nebby's gotten lost?

Liliooon?

[The Pokemon will grumble.]

You're right, Solgaleo! I'm sure Nebby's bound to show up somewhere!

[did someone say this place could use more villains...]

[There's a very imposing figure in a tell-tale red R-emblazoned silvery grey uniform, whistling in an impressed fashion as he took in his work. He might've gotten stranded here without his partner, but it's a good thing his chicken-walker's all in one piece and he even still had Professor Sebastian's crystal...
The crystal was working optimally, given that the force-field it generated attracted Electric types from all around, so he could easily snap them up with the pincer-arm of his mecha, tossing them into cages, while all their Electric type attacks failed to land their mark, as the crystal absorbed their electric shocks, taking that power for itself!]

Hah, it's no use... you can shock it all you want, you're just going to tire yourself out!

The Boss'll really be happy when he sees this! You might not be that one, but you're mysterious, unusual-looking Pokemon all the same! [Strolling leisurely along the shock-proof cages, Buson grinned and slammed a hand on top of one, frightening the terrified Ulternian Pichu contained within, which scurry to huddle together in the corner farthest from the grinning Rocket, all fluffing up even more from the sparks they let off in fear.]

You should be grateful, you're going to serve the biggest, strongest team around...

On second thought, don't shock it too much, we wanna get you to 'em alive.

((Note: Attila (AKA Buson) is one of the two primary antagonists of The Legend of Thunder and they're a more vicious than the usual Rocket trio... put bluntly, he beats up people (young trainers included!) to torture them (the anime cuts away while he's advancing and cracking his knuckles, while his partner just watches from the doorway...), so, er, hit the opt-out & permissions post if you'd rather not interact with this character ever. There'll be no surprise violence either way, I'll ask first, but just in case you want to completely opt-out of dealing with this guy!))

I: Turnbloom City
[ A flash of light, bands of shifting, variegated colours, and Porygon-2 suddenly materialises from the PC of the Pokémon Center. For a moment its large, unblinking eyes bore directly into yours, perhaps examining you, perhaps merely disoriented — but soon its large, plasticky head swivels atop its thin neck, facing Nurse Emi behind the counter. It then — speaks? — in a stilted, robotic voice, the source of which is revealed to be the collar it's wearing — as a matter of fact, the only thing it's wearing. ]

FIXED VIRUS. BUT.

[ It seems to be thinking — as much as a long pause and an unemotive face can communicate thinking, anyway. ]

NOT JUBILIFE. WHERE?

II: Gilterrace Town
[ What's that floating on the pond at the foot of the rice terraces? Why, a digital drinking bird, of course, its eyes lazily, contentedly closed as it bobs up and down on the waves. Around its neck, there rests an odd rectangular contraption with a small screen hanging from a metal collar, and when the Pokémon opens its eyes and catches you, sound crackles forth from the speaker. ]

ULSAI.

[ The small screen — now revealed to be an LED display — also lights up, displaying each word the box pronounces in all capital letters. It's clear that this is some kind of thought-to-speech programme for the Pokémon! ]

SUNNY. NEED SOMETHING?

III: Wild card! Make something up and Porygon-2 will roll with it.

That might be strange and alarming for most people, but Akari, lying flat on her back, couldn’t help but laugh about it.

“…So we’re doing this again, huh?” she asks the wide open sky with a wry sort of smile. After a moment, she sits up, fumbling around in the pocket of her Survey Corp gear and pulling out a strange-looking phone. No cryptic godly messages, huh? At least not yet. Hmm… curious.

Well, nothing to be gained by sitting around! She stands up and pats herself off, glancing around for the nearest landmarks. Do you happen to overhear her? Or maybe you just caught sight of her on the shore? Either way, the past and the present are once again about to collide and a new adventure is about to unfold…!

Kirby’s Dream Buffet || Gliterrace Town - Bistro Le Yago
The curiously-dressed girl in front of you in line at the restaurant has been waffling about what to order. Her travels had led her to the nearby town and the journey had made her quite hungry.

“Hey, do you have any potato mochi?”

It’s a decidedly Hokkaidoan Sinnohan snack, and a rather traditional one, at that. Maybe you’ve heard of it in an old cook book?

“No? Well, that’s okay. I’ll just take a dozen of whatever the specialty here is!” A…a dozen? Can she really eat that much?!

Art Academy || Pretty much anywhere!
Old habits die hard and Akari found herself instinctively compelled to start taking notes and recording information about the unfamiliar Pokémon she was encountering here in Ultern. Catch her crouching behind some bushes or a rock, carefully taking notes or sketching the shape of an Ulternian Pokémon. Maybe she’s sketching a rare Palssio along the shore, or maybe she’s hiding behind some bushes taking notes about a pack of Pichu! The possibilities are endless!

Breath of the Wild || Route 3
Or maybe, just maybe… she’s running. Running full tilt, being chased by a Pokémon. What Pokémon? It looks like an Ulternian Blissey and man, it’s hauling ass! Sort of surprising given what stumpy little legs they have. Akari is keeping ahead of it, but just barely. She could probably use some help.
