[INTRO] X-ing over to a new land!
[WHERE: The entrance of Gilterrace Town.
X is taking a step forward only to stop. There's a dumbfounded look on his face as he's very obviously examining his surroundings. Slowly but surely his expression is becoming less and less expressive. While he doesn't say the question that's weighing his mind, he can be seen through out the town. His steps are on the quick side, as if looking for something or someone.]
[WHEN: Afternoon
X can be found on route 1--with a Pokedex in hand. There's an group of Ulternian Sunkerns frolicking about, minding their own business. X here just seemed absolutely baffled as his Pokedex not only recognize the Pokemon before him--but they were registering as a normal Sunkern.
Why was that...?
He seemed to be engrossed with his Pokedex, even with a Kangaskhan sitting directly behind him.]
[WHY: was he here?
Stubbornly refusing to return to town, X is setting up camp over at the Shrouded Woods. By setting camp it's more like he's found a hollow tree trunk and sitting there, not moving. He's tired, and he's given up on walking. Surely no one would come to look for him inside a tree trunk. No one suspicious, anyway.]
(ooc: come pester X from PokeSpe! He's a little bit before the epilogue but he shouldn't be as anti-social as he was near the start of his journey--)

[......]
Sorry.....
[He's notably relaxing in Ash's hold. All the while X averts his gaze from the younger trainer, ashamed of his own actions.]
no subject
After X apologizes, Ash wears a soft smile in response.]
It's fine. You're just worried about your friends, aren't you?
[He then lets go of X's arm.]
no subject
You could say that. We were all heading home, but I was suddenly here in this place. Ultern did you say? How do you even know we're in another world? It'd make more sense if you told me we ended up in another region entirely.
no subject
That's because... This place can get really weird.
[It's the best he could describe Ultern.]
You'll find people you've met before but find out they're not the same one you know. And it turns out they're from a different world. Or that they're from a different point in time too.
[But then his frown deepens as he realizes it might sound complicated for X. But he wasn't sure how to make it sound so simple for X to understand.
Ash rubbed his temples as he felt his head throbbing from overthinking.]
But anyway, what we both know is that we're away from home. That's for sure!
no subject
It's still hard to believe, but I can tell that I'm not dreaming at the very least. What I do know is that my friends aren't here. Or at least not close by.
[Well, what was he going to do now? He can't exactly go home or contact them.]

Calem...
no subject
You'll see them again for sure! Maybe not today, maybe tomorrow! I have hope you'll find your way back home soon!
Pika-chuu!
[1/2] ME TOO
You're really not good at this pep talk thing, are you?
[2/2]
.....but it's not such a bad thing.
no subject
At least I'm trying!
[And at least X has his spirits lifted out of this, so this counts as a success and lets out a small laugh afterwards.]
I'm Ash by the way, and this is my buddy Pikachu.
[His Pikachu on his shoulder cheerfully greets X.]
We've been here in Ultern for a long while now, so if you need a hand with something, we're your guys to help you around!
no subject
He looks at Ash's Pikachu, noting the fuzzy little electric mouse. He could tell just how well taken care of Pikachu is from the look of his fur, and the happy expression on his face. Despite that a part of him still held back, whispering doubts inside. If he gave out his name--what then? Would Ash mention his name to others?
But this isn't Kalos, X was quick to remind himself. He wasn't who he used to be, he could take that small step forward.]
My friends call me X. How long have the two of you been here in Ultern?
no subject
[Oops, hopefully it wasn't awkward. He rubs the back of his head sheepishly.]
My bad. It's nice to meet you X!
[And then Ash's expression softens before making a straightforward answer.]
...Seven months.
no subject
[Look, he's giving Ash an out from any awkwardness--and to cover his bases just in case. He was alone, and didn't have to worry about his friend's safety. Yet Ash here...he seemed harmless enough. What if something were to happen just because he associated with him?
At Ash's response X clearly shows his surprise. Seven months without heading home? Or seeing anyone from back where he's from? That's...]
That's a long time...
no subject
[He points to the entrance way to Gilterrace Town.]
And he looks a lot like you too. I think I'll just call you X just to make it easier!
[After hearing X's comment, he wears a small smile but his gaze is averted elsewhere. His Pikachu however looks at his partner with concern. Already knowing how painful it was to think about.]
It is. And our timing wasn't the best either. The day I got drifted here, is also the day I get to battle Steven.
[He shoves his hands into his pockets before he continues to explain.]
Me and my buddy and the rest of my team have been training long and hard to get to that tournament we were in. It's been my goal to beat the Monarch Leon, who's the world's strongest Trainer. And we were so close... But our chance slipped away, and here we are.
[A deep sigh escapes his lips. But after a long pause, he finally looks at X again but with renewed determination.]
But I'm not giving up! When I get back home, I'll make sure to fulfill that promise I made to Leon and go at him at full-power!
Pika!
no subject
X simply opted to nod in understanding, when Ash decided to stick with his name. That was fine, it wasn't like he gave out his full name to Ash anyway.
Steven--that's a name he recognized. The Champion of Hoenn, he was sure. It sounded like Ash had a lot going back in his home too, being part of a tournament. There's a clear frown on his face as he thinks how he too, had been pulled away at the worst possible moment.
Where his friends looking for him? Knowing them, they no doubt where.]
It sounds like you had a lot going on back home. It's not everyday you battle against strong trainers in a tournament.
[Still, X had noticed Ash's disappointment. Even if he was showing X his determination to move forward. He really didn't know how strong Ash was, as a trainer. What he could tell was, he cared deeply for his Pokemon. At least based on how well-taken care of Pikachu was.
In fact he takes a moment to lift his Pokedex to take a look at Pikachu's entry. He might seem distracted, like he wasn't listening to Ash--but his focus was still on what Ash was saying. Lifting his gaze up to meet Ash's, X nods once more.]
I can tell you and your Pikachu are great partners. Have you two been training all this time?
no subject
[Just the very thought of the tournament and battling Leon excites him. He had so much fun battling his way through the rankings looking back.
When X takes out his Pokedex, Ash immediately recognizes the model he's using. He was just about to point it out before X asks him a question.]
Yeah! [He nods, and then runs his hand over Pikachu's head. To which Pikachu lets out a soft "chaa!"] The two of us have been travelling together ever since we first left home. And over time we got to train and battle a lot of awesome trainers along the way! He's grown so much since then, now my buddy's Thunderbolt is really shocking!
no subject
X noted the way Ash spoke highly of Pikachu. Just from his voice, and his body gestures he could tell just how much Ash and Pikachu cared for one another. It made him think about his own Pokemon, and the love and care his friends had for theirs.]
You really like battling, don't you?
[He couldn't help but comment casually, like he was someone just looking in from the outside. As if he didn't have those same excitement and feelings like Ash had, at some point.]
I can see the strong bond between yourself and Pikachu.
no subject
[Both Ash and Pikachu smile at X at the same time, as if they were in sync. It's always nice to hear from someone else that he and his partner get along well. And it strives him to maintain that strong bond they've made.]
Oh yeah totally! Whenever I get to battle someone, I feel a "vwooosh!" and I get really excited! 'Cuz I know I'm gonna have so much fun out of it!
[If X is still holding onto that Pokedex, Ash then starts pointing at it.]
Say X, are you maybe from the Kalos region? Because I used to have that kind of Pokedex back when I had my journey around Kalos.
no subject
He didn't like to think about him, but it also made him think of Trevor. Maybe some day, he'd be holding a Pokedex made by his friend.
At the mention of Ash being in Kalos, and formerly owning the same kind of Pokedex had X give a curious look.]
Do you not have that Pokedex anymore? What were you doing in Kalos...? For that tournament you were talking about?
no subject
What am I doing there? Oh that's easy -- I wanted to see all the Pokemon there, that and I also wanted to take on the Pokemon League there too! It's all thanks to Alexa that talked me into checking Kalos out.
[A lot happened, but he can't forget all the fun times he had while he was travelling around the region with his friends. It's the good memories he gained from those times that really count.]
As for the Pokedex, Professor Sycamore gave me a newer model, so I returned the one I had back to him. Though...
[He takes out his Rotom Phone to show to X.]
...Nowadays I let Rotom help me identify every Pokemon I meet!
no subject
It did sound like he was in it to just take on the Pokemon League anyway. He hasn't done that personally...
He listens to Ash and made a face at Sycamore's name. A clear look of disdain. Instead of thinking more of the man than necessary he moved his focus on the Rotom Phone.]
I've never seen this before. So a Rotom Phone... that's a Pokemon isn't it? I've never seen one before. They're not common in Kalos.
no subject
That's true, though they're pretty rare to find even outside of Kalos... I used to have a Rotom that's living inside a Pokedex who's always by my side, and it's really dependable!
[As he eyes on X's Pokedex once again, then to the other's appearance -- seeing how his clothes look somewhat worn, probably from a long travel -- it's clear to Ash what kind of person X is.]
But the fact you have one, that means you're a Pokemon Trainer too!
no subject
[Given how Ash mentioned returning his previous Pokedex to Sycamore, he couldn't help wonder about the Rotom Pokedex Ash brought up. If he was just using a phone now, did that mean the Rotom simply moved into the phone?
X will noticed Ash looking over his general appearance. He frowned to himself wondering what went through Ash's mind--until the younger boy spoke up again. A Pokemon Trainer...? Yeah, yeah he was one now, wasn't he?]
Yeah, I am.
no subject
[The phone on his hand buzzes, as if Rotom is introducing itself to X. And while his current Rotom isn't as talkative as the other one, it's still just as reliable in giving him details and information like any other Pokedex would.]
I knew it! [He beams.] Hey if you'd like, I can show you to this town's Pokemon Center!
no subject
wait, what was that?]
The Pokemon Center?
[Instinctively X placed his hand against his Pokeballs. Was it safe there...? But the nurses there had never done things to hurt any of their Pokemon, but what if? What if Team Flare somehow lurked here too?
No, this wasn't Kalos. It wasn't Kalos or someone like Ash wouldn't be here to talk to him.]
Sure, it's a good idea to know where one is nearby.
