[INTRO] X-ing over to a new land!

[WHERE: The entrance of Gilterrace Town.

X is taking a step forward only to stop. There's a dumbfounded look on his face as he's very obviously examining his surroundings. Slowly but surely his expression is becoming less and less expressive. While he doesn't say the question that's weighing his mind, he can be seen through out the town. His steps are on the quick side, as if looking for something or someone.]


[WHEN: Afternoon

X can be found on route 1--with a Pokedex in hand. There's an group of Ulternian Sunkerns frolicking about, minding their own business. X here just seemed absolutely baffled as his Pokedex not only recognize the Pokemon before him--but they were registering as a normal Sunkern.

Why was that...?

He seemed to be engrossed with his Pokedex, even with a Kangaskhan sitting directly behind him.]

[WHY: was he here?

Stubbornly refusing to return to town, X is setting up camp over at the Shrouded Woods. By setting camp it's more like he's found a hollow tree trunk and sitting there, not moving. He's tired, and he's given up on walking. Surely no one would come to look for him inside a tree trunk. No one suspicious, anyway.]


(ooc: come pester X from PokeSpe! He's a little bit before the epilogue but he shouldn't be as anti-social as he was near the start of his journey--)

[Alexa was the reason or at least one of the reason Ash went to Kalos? He wanted to ask more about his experience. If he saw people in red suits but... no. It's best he didn't.

It did sound like he was in it to just take on the Pokemon League anyway. He hasn't done that personally...

He listens to Ash and made a face at Sycamore's name. A clear look of disdain. Instead of thinking more of the man than necessary he moved his focus on the Rotom Phone.]

I've never seen this before. So a Rotom Phone... that's a Pokemon isn't it? I've never seen one before. They're not common in Kalos.

[Ash does pick up on X's disdain for a moment, and he isn't sure why he reacted as such so he doesn't comment on it.]

That's true, though they're pretty rare to find even outside of Kalos... I used to have a Rotom that's living inside a Pokedex who's always by my side, and it's really dependable!

[As he eyes on X's Pokedex once again, then to the other's appearance -- seeing how his clothes look somewhat worn, probably from a long travel -- it's clear to Ash what kind of person X is.]

But the fact you have one, that means you're a Pokemon Trainer too!

...is that Rotom inside your phone now?

[Given how Ash mentioned returning his previous Pokedex to Sycamore, he couldn't help wonder about the Rotom Pokedex Ash brought up. If he was just using a phone now, did that mean the Rotom simply moved into the phone?

X will noticed Ash looking over his general appearance. He frowned to himself wondering what went through Ash's mind--until the younger boy spoke up again. A Pokemon Trainer...? Yeah, yeah he was one now, wasn't he?]

Rotom? Oh no, it wanted to stay in Alola to make its dream as the universe's best Pokedex come true. This little guy's a different Rotom that I got from Professor Cerise back in Vermillion City.

[The phone on his hand buzzes, as if Rotom is introducing itself to X. And while his current Rotom isn't as talkative as the other one, it's still just as reliable in giving him details and information like any other Pokedex would.]

I knew it! [He beams.] Hey if you'd like, I can show you to this town's Pokemon Center!

[Just from Pikachu alone, X could tell Ash was a caring trainer. It seemed that also extended to other Pokemon which tugged a smile to his lips. Things must be different from where he's from--

wait, what was that?]

The Pokemon Center?

[Instinctively X placed his hand against his Pokeballs. Was it safe there...? But the nurses there had never done things to hurt any of their Pokemon, but what if? What if Team Flare somehow lurked here too?

No, this wasn't Kalos. It wasn't Kalos or someone like Ash wouldn't be here to talk to him.]

Sure, it's a good idea to know where one is nearby.

[Ash is a little surprised when X suddenly became on edge for a short moment. Which is a little worrisome.]

...Are you okay?

Piika-chu?

I'm fine.

[X looked away. He must have been too obvious just now. He had to be more aware of his surroundings. It was just himself here.]

I'm just tired. It was a long way to get back home.

[Oh he's just tired! Well, he has only drifted into this place after all.]

Then that's all the more reason to visit the Pokemon Center! C'mon, it's this way!

[Ash gestures X to come along and leads the way to the Center. And once there, Nurse Joy greets the two boys upon entering with the usual friendly Ulternian hospitality.]

Ulsai, Nurse Joy!

[Being in town, and at the Pokemon Center X found himself a bit more at ease than earlier. The people there weren't like those back in Lumiose. He found himself realizing that more so upon entering the Pokemon Center.

There was a cozy atmosphere about it, and the nurse--Joy, Ash said seemed friendly enough. He glanced down to his team within their Pokeballs idly wondering whether to hand them over to her. They weren't exactly tired, and they had been a step away from entering Vaniville their home.

A frown formed as X thought of his hometown, and his friends. Kanga noticing X's expression wiggled within her Pokeball. He gave a small nod to her, before turning to Ash.]

.....hey, what does "ulsai" mean?

"Ulsai" is just how everyone greets each other here in Ultern. Kind of like how everyone in the Alola region just says "Alola!" to each other!

[Though much of Ultern reminds him a lot about his second home. And maybe that's why he's gotten very comfortable with the place too.]

Anyway, you can ask Nurse Joy if you wanna check-in for the night here. Or if you'd like, I can get you something at the cafe!

Their own greeting... ah. I'll remember that then.

[Much like how they would use "bonjour" in Kalos. If he stuck with using the greeting maybe he won't stick out like a sore thumb despite his Kalosian accent.

He glanced over to the counter contemplating staying the night but... X shook his head.]

I just wanted to know where it was for my Pokemon. That's all.

[Now what else should he tell X... Ash crosses his arms in thought.]

What else... there's a lot of other places you can check out, like further south of this town is Turnbloom City. Oh! And there's plenty of Pokemon here that you don't see from Kalos if you wanna check them out!

[With Pokemon mentioned, nothing else came to mind after that.]

Hmmm, I dunno what else to tell you. But if you need any help with things, just give me a call! Actually...

[He raises his Rotom Phone once more.]

We should exchange numbers! That way, you can reach out to me anytime!

[Plenty of Pokemon he hasn't seen before... of course. He wasn't in Kalos anymore so he shouldn't be surprised. He'll just keep note of that for later. He had no need to catch any new Pokemon like he had in Kalos, but maybe... maybe Trevor might appreciate it.]

I don't have any way that I can repay you at the moment...

[X began only to fall silent at the mention of exchanging numbers. He didn't have a Holocaster on him. He had no reason to keep one, nor the desire to use it given what he had experienced. X lightly shook his head.]

I don't have a phone on me. So there's no number I could give you.

[At the offer of being repaid for his kindness, Ash shakes his head.]

Nah, you don't have to! I'm just more than happy to help ya out!

[...No phone? Welp. Ash puts his away with that revelation.]

Is that so? Ehehe, that's fine. We'll work something out somehow.

[It wasn't exactly a lie when his friends were right next to him. That and it was to less the danger of being tracked.

X will pause trying to think of a solution.]

How about we just make a plan to meet again?

[Ash too didn't need of it initially but that's because it was the 90s and mobile phones were just bricks- until his work as a Research Fellow. Even then, he wasn't exactly easy to reach out to anyway. Not that Ash would remember to mention it.

At X's suggestion, he nods in agreement.]

I'm down with that! Then how about we meet up again here in this town's Pokemon Center? Does that sound good?

The Pokemon Center here...?

[Under normal circumstances X would have been against it. It would be too risky. As he took a look around everyone paid no mind to them, enjoying their day. So far...things have been peaceful. It felt surreal, like a dream almost.]

[Pikachu happily cheers at X, also looking forward to meeting their new friend again.]
