EVENT: Winter Wonders

All over Ultern both the Pokemon and People have yet again set out decorations around the island. It seems they're all buzzing with excitement over the winter festivities this time.

In fact the keen eye just might notice there’s many unique designs, and decorations aligned together. It seemed not just the Ulternians but the drifters who live here have pitched in to put up the festive decor. Everyone was sure getting into the holiday spirit it seems.

Now, what's going on around the rest of the island...?

1. Everywhere, Anywhere...
Whatever you're doing, whoever you're with it's hard not to notice the sense of being watched. Whether you're a Pokemon or a regular person, something, or someone is clearly watching. There just might be sounds of shuffling nearby.

What could it be? Is it time to go snooping, or time to lock all the doors and enjoy some hot chocolate with whoever you're with?


2. Glitterace Town, Pokemon Center
Dr. Unoya, a Pokemon Doctor, is looking like his usual pale, tired self. His eyes however, are sharper than normal with his brows furrowed together. Not a word is uttered by the man as he seems to be glaring at the festive winter decorations that surrounded the Pokemon Center.

He was clearly not in the mood for any holidays with how he stood with his arms crossed. At least it seemed he wasn't sending any visitors away.

[monologing]

[Ooh? What's this? Nosy as ever, Red's approaching at first to observe the strange new Pokemon. It takes him a second to register who was at the table next to said Pokemon.

While Red would have loved nothing more than to touch and pet the Pokemon nonstop play with the Pokemon, he couldn't ignore his other curiosity. Walking up in front of Ash, he'll stop and wave.

If that doesn't manage to grab Ash's attention, he does the next best thing by placing a hand a top Ash's head for a light pat.]

[That pat on his head did the trick, as that was enough to break Ash's concentration and turn to see who it is.]

Oh, Red! You surprised me there!

[monologing]

[He's grinning wide while removing his hand from Ash.]

What are you working on, Ash?

[goingallout]

Oh this? It's a Sun Charm!

[He lifts one up for Red to see. Although a little worn and crumpled, the Sun Charm he's holding has some cute Pikachu patterns on it.]

An old lady taught me how to make one. She said these things can protect you from evil spirits, like a good luck charm!

[And when he finishes, he offers the charm to Red and grins at him.]

And it's a good thing you're here too by the way! Because I want you to have this!

[monologing]

[Red's peering down, squinting at the Sun Charm. From the intensity of how he stared at it he was rather intrigued. It was obviously his first time seeing one, but something about it made him smile.]

A good luck charm...sounds nice.

[He returned his gaze over to Ash when he held out the newly charm made for him. Red took the offered charm. There's a look of surprise on his face, as he peered down at it.]

...... ......

[In an instant, Red began digging into his bag seemingly searching for something. Despite how stuffed it looked he was somehow not dropping any contents from it.]

[Ash watches Red wordlessly rummage through his bag and wonders what made the other react this way.]

Um, are you looking for something?

[monologing]

[He doesn't stop nor seem to acknowledge Ash, as Red seemed far more caught up in digging through his bag. It takes him a good minute to finally dig out something shiny--a Beach Glass. A piece of glass that's eroded to the point of being smooth, and shiny, sparkling in the light.

Satisfied, Red will hold it out for Ash to take.]

......here, take it. [He's beaming at Ash.] ....found this out on the beach while exploring.

[Seeing it sparkle, Ash takes the Beach Glass off of Red's hands and starts to admire its sheen.]

Wow... it's so pretty! Thanks, Red!

[The light reflecting from the Beach Glass catches Pikachu to the curious object on his partner's hand and starts moving towards the table to get a close look.]

Pika pika!

Yeah, it really sparkles!

[monologing]

[Red was relieved to see Ash enjoying the gift. He felt bad that it hadn't been wrapped, but it was the thought that counts right? ...right!]

......thanks for your gift, Ash. I'll take good care of it.

[He also made a note to wrap his gift to Ash next time around, whenever that would be. Putting that thought away he glanced down to the Sun Charms Ash has made so far. Wow, that was a lot!]

Are you going to be delivering all of these to your friends?

[Ash nods.]

Yep! I didn't know what to get them at first, but I figured they might like these instead!

[He's putting all his effort and appreciation into it anyway!!]

[monologing]

...yeah, I think they'll like this too.

[Red nodded in response before turning his attention over to the new Pokemon that was hanging around with Pikachu. He'll tilt his head and look to Ash.]

Is that your Pokemon?

[goingallout]

Hehe, you think so?

[That's good to hear! Ash really hopes they do!

Upon mentioning Nebby, Ash follows Red's gaze.]

Solgaleo's my friend. And I've raised him since he was little!

[Nebby however lets out a snort.]

[monologing]

[Red smiled, and nodded in response. He was sure Ash's friends would see all the effort he put into his gift and love it. He sure did if anything.

Back to Nebby, Red was intrigued.]

....it evolved? What did he look like before?

[He was nosy okay!!! He had to know! Solgaleo was completely new territory for him.]

[From the look in Red's face, he can tell he's curious.]

Well... he was this small and purple and really fluffy, like a cloud!

[He starts making gestures to describe how Nebby looked like before it became Solgaleo.]

Solgaleo back then was even small enough to fit in my bag!

[Hopefully that's descriptive enough!]

[monologing]

Like Cotton Candy...?

[He stared at Solgaleo before a smile formed on his lips.]

Sounds nice. Solgaleo must really like you to find you here.

Kind of like Cotton Candy, yeah!

[Nebby responds to Red with a trill. Unbeknownst to Ash, Nebby's only met him today but his impression of him has been positive.]

I'm surprised he's managed to find me here too! Y'see Solgaleo's got this amazing power to open Ultra Wormholes and travel to different worlds, so I think he used his power to get here!

[monologing]

[Whoa, Solgaleo traveled all the way from a different world to find Ash? Then he must really care about Ash to come all this way--wherever Ultern was located exactly.

Red turned to Ash, nodding.]

I'm glad he found you, Ash. He really cares about you to come all this way here.

Of course! Solgaleo's my precious friend after all! I'd probably do the same too if he starts getting lost!

[He says this, but realistically Ash wouldn't have any idea how to find him. It's not like he has that sort of power or anything, he's just a little kid at the end of the day.

That wouldn't stop him from trying however.

And something came to mind as he looks at Red.]

...So, what brings you here Red?

[monologing]

[Red smiled at that. He wasn't about to damper Ash's mood by bring up the fact he couldn't do the same as Solgaleo. It was the thought that counts, and both trainer and Pokemon cared for each other.

At Ash's question Red wordlessly turned his gaze over to the Pokemart. He had business over there. Important Business.]

...gonna buy some Escape Ropes.

[goingallout]

[...A what now???]

Escape ropes? What's that?

[monologing]

[...? ?? ? ?? ? ? ? ? ?? ?? ? ?? ?? ? ? ????]

You never bought one before...?

[goingallout]

Nope, not at all.

[Were they in stores???????]

[monologing]

[That is so...odd. Escape Ropes were a must for travelers! Without it he would be stuck in a cave for three years!

Which he was but that's besides the point. Instead he's looking at Ash with all the concern of a single mother with her only child.]

......wait here.

[With that, Red will walk straight up to the counter at the Pokemart. Only a few minutes pass with Red returning to place [1] Escape Rope in front of Ash. Unfortunately it looks exactly the same as an ordinary rope.]

It's yours.

[goingallout]

[Though confused, Ash remained in his seat and waited for Red to do whatever he's going to do. It's only when Red returns and being given an Escape Rope in his hands that Ash takes a moment to blink at what he's holding.]

So this is an Escape Rope...?

[Ash scrunches his eyebrows. It appears... like any other rope the more he looks at it.]

[monologing]

[Red is now placing his hands over Ash's and the escape rope. He's leaning in staring right at Ash.]

Keep it in your bag.

[He can't have Ash going out in the wilds, getting stuck in a cave!!!]
