EVENT: Winter Wonders

All over Ultern both the Pokemon and People have yet again set out decorations around the island. It seems they're all buzzing with excitement over the winter festivities this time.

In fact the keen eye just might notice there’s many unique designs, and decorations aligned together. It seemed not just the Ulternians but the drifters who live here have pitched in to put up the festive decor. Everyone was sure getting into the holiday spirit it seems.

Now, what's going on around the rest of the island...?

1. Everywhere, Anywhere...
Whatever you're doing, whoever you're with it's hard not to notice the sense of being watched. Whether you're a Pokemon or a regular person, something, or someone is clearly watching. There just might be sounds of shuffling nearby.

What could it be? Is it time to go snooping, or time to lock all the doors and enjoy some hot chocolate with whoever you're with?


2. Glitterace Town, Pokemon Center
Dr. Unoya, a Pokemon Doctor, is looking like his usual pale, tired self. His eyes however, are sharper than normal with his brows furrowed together. Not a word is uttered by the man as he seems to be glaring at the festive winter decorations that surrounded the Pokemon Center.

He was clearly not in the mood for any holidays with how he stood with his arms crossed. At least it seemed he wasn't sending any visitors away.

[But he can't just look dejected towards Red's generosity! That'd be rude! And so he takes the rope and nods.]

[monologing]

[Great! Ash will now be safe if he's ever stuck in a cave! A job well done.

Red's smiling and nodding to himself satisfied.]

...mm!

[As he's straightening back up he paused and stared at Ash.]

....use it when you're stuck in a cave.

[He puts away the Escape Rope into his bag as he's told.]

Oh that sounds like it'll come in handy along the way. I've only had my Pokémon help me out whenever I'm stuck.

[monologing]

[Pokemon helping you out--yeah, his team had done that for him plenty of times. HOWEVER--]

When they're tired.....or faint from battle.....

[He doesn't finish his sentence, figuring it was enough for Ash to get the picture. If only he used more of his words to fully explain how an Escape Rope worked! Boy was Ash in a for a surprise!!!]

[Ash blinks again, not quite getting it thanks to Red's lack of explanation.]

What d'you mean...?

[Red please you can't leave Ash hanging!!!!]

[Oh, Ash..........you sweet summer child....!]

[Red's pointing at Ash's bag where the Escape Rope is now stored.]

Use the Escape Rope then.

[You can't rely on your Pokemon if they're all hurt or tired!!!!!!! You gotta rush them to the Pokemon Center!!!!!!!]

Uh... huh?

[Slow nods. Okay, he gets it.

....That's a lie he has no clue what he's trying to say-]

Sorry, you're not making any sense here.

[monologing]

[Guess who's in your personal space again, Ash? That's right. It's not Blue Oak but none other than Red.]

You'll need it when you and your Pokemon are in a tight spot, like in a cave.

[Red please not even Gary would barge into his space!]

Oh, so that's what you mean! Why didn't you tell me so?

[monologing]

I did tell you...?

[Red, a master of words he is NOT.]

Well you weren't really clear about it anyway. Don't leave me hanging next time, okay?

[monologing]

[He stares at Ash. What did Ash mean that he left him hanging? Didn't he just explain to him extensively about the Escape Rope?

He's crossing his arms, clearly looking upon the younger trainer in extreme thought.]

[The longer Red stares, the more Ash shrinks into his seat, feeling judged and wondering what's in the other's mind... until he couldn't take it any further.]

W-What...?

[monologing]

[...oh!

Right, he had to use his words to communicate! He will continue to not do that, unfortunately. Instead Red is reaching out to pat Ash a top his head, smiling wide.]

[The head pat is a surprise. But seeing his smile got Ash thinking.

While his first impression of Red still sticks with him -- with how much of a friendly guy he is -- Ash has noticed he's a really quiet guy. And the more he spends time with him, the more he actually couldn't quite make of Red as a person he realizes.

...Well, there's a new discovery to be found every day, and this is just one of them.]

...Um, I guess talking really isn't your strong point isn't it huh, Red?

[monologing]

......

[Was he really that quiet? He didn't think he was at the very least. Smiling still, with his hand on top of Ash's head still Red spoke.]

.....like listening to you.

[...Now Ash feels a bit red from hearing that.]

Aw, shucks...

[Y'know what? Maybe this is fine. This is probably just how Red is overall, so he'll have to get used to it. That's what a good friend's gotta do.]

Well, I don't really mind about you not talking much anyway.

[And he beams.]

[monologing]

[There's a light laugh from Red. If Ash had said that to anyone else, they would certainly take it the wrong way. Red wasn't one of them.

Instead he'll lift his hand up, and off of Ash before adjusting his bag strap. He'll then point to the younger boy.]
