Suddenly in the midst of a Summer Festival--

There's a distinct sound of waves, and bustling of people nearby.

In the coastal city of Turnbloom the sun is bright and warm, and the scent of the sea wafts through with the cool gentle breeze that makes the glittering pinwheels spin, and the leaves on the palm tree dance.

Today the streets are extra decorated with these cute, colorful and floral shaped pinwheels. It seemed the people who were out in the streets were dressed in colorful summer attire--either casual, or the more traditional yukata. It seemed like with the booths were set out for both food and games for festival of some kind that was currently underway.

Just how did you get here, and why? A mystery, and it seemed the people in the streets didn't seem to notice anything out of the ordinary as they go about enjoying their time out on this bright sunny day.

[He smiles back, mostly on autopilot, fleeting but warm; he can be friendly when he wants, which happens more often now than it used to in his life, anyway. But he's still caught up taking all of this in. It feels like some other shoe still needs to drop. But maybe it's just that he's primed to expect that moment, and—he doesn't know what to think if it doesn't come.]

Thank you for the warm welcome. When you say neighbors . . . it sounds as though this has been happening for a long time. Is that right? And people simply settle here when they find themselves here? These people living ordinary lives are people like me?

[He waves a hand at no one in particular—just the overall assortment of people passing by, close and at a distance, enjoying the sights and events of the day. They seem content here. And some of them are from Sinnoh . . . ?]

[Again he nods, packing all of this away to obsess over later. Boy, will he ever. For something like this to be such an ordinary part of life here . . . ]

I'm sorry to interrogate you, but—well. I imagine you're used to hearing endless questions like this, if this is common. I have one more for you. Has anybody ever witnessed it happening? This "drifting"?

No—strange portals opening, or anything like that? Or people arriving in their dreams? Interesting . . . well. I know better than to think I'm going to be the one to solve a mystery like this while I'm standing here barely getting my bearings, so the rest can wait.

[As much as he hates it. A part of him does want to interrogate her, and plot out everything he can possibly find out now, and obsess over it all night, but . . . he has to temper those unreasonable feelings.]

Is it a holiday today? What a time to intrude.

Ah, you're right. How rude of me. My name is Saturn. I'm grateful for your hospitality, Lacy. I'm just a bit caught up right now, but . . . I'll have to come see the fireworks tonight.

[He is so not dressed for a summer festival, or for any kind of normal life here at all, but one thing at a time. There's so much to take in about this situation right now. Some part of him expects to just wake up within the next few minutes anyway, making any effort he puts into getting the lay of the land here pointless, but it's probably not going to be that easy, is it?]

Ah—I wouldn't want to trouble you.

[One of those Nos so soft it could turn into a Yes at a moment's notice. Would he like it? He's not sure. Saturn feels a compulsion to go off on his own and . . . what? That's the thing. He doesn't actually have anything better to do than explore and get the lay of the land, and that's better with a local hand guiding him. Everything still feels so urgent—figure out what's going on, figure out what he can do about it, and so on—but it isn't. He is not actually going to have any success doing those things if he excuses himself.

This is going to take a while.

So his expression falters instantly, considering:]

Are you certain . . . ?

Icharibachoude . . .

[He sounds it out slowly to commit it to memory, even though he himself is far from that type of person. Well, usually. He's not above getting attached quickly when the situation is right. Family, though . . .

He nods anyway.]

All right. I'll take you up on that, then. There's an awful lot to see. I'm the type of person who hates being new and not knowing things, unfortunately.

[With that, Saturn gives her a little smile. He can be self-aware.]

Oh—yes, please. I'm sure I'll be needing that before too long if the people here like to battle the way they do in Sinnoh.

[And everywhere else. The whole world is battle-crazy, or so it feels like sometimes, and even a mysterious island nation Saturn's mysteriously drifted to is no exception. He follows along, taking in the sights as they walk.]

Is there a hotel, or anything along those lines . . . ? For the drifted?

[It's so easygoing and charming, and that begins to itch at him in the back of his head, but he has to hold that off for now. It's very, very early to start feeling stircrazy! Focus! He nods, but it turns quickly into a shake of his head when she offers that last:]

Oh, I couldn't do that. I don't want to impose on a stranger. Though I don't know anything about your currency. But that's a simpler matter to fix than finding someone who'd take me in.
