Suddenly in the midst of a Summer Festival--

There's a distinct sound of waves, and bustling of people nearby.
In the coastal city of Turnbloom the sun is bright and warm, and the scent of the sea wafts through with the cool gentle breeze that makes the glittering pinwheels spin, and the leaves on the palm tree dance.
Today the streets are extra decorated with these cute, colorful and floral shaped pinwheels. It seemed the people who were out in the streets were dressed in colorful summer attire--either casual, or the more traditional yukata. It seemed like with the booths were set out for both food and games for festival of some kind that was currently underway.
Just how did you get here, and why? A mystery, and it seemed the people in the streets didn't seem to notice anything out of the ordinary as they go about enjoying their time out on this bright sunny day.

He immediately recognized her, but she was in clothes he didn't normally see her in. Puzzled, he made his way closer to Lillie with Hoopa not too far behind. He'll then hold Lillie's hat out to her.
"What are you doing in a place like this? Where are your friends?" Like Elio or whatever, he wanted to add dismissively but waited for her to catch her breath first. He wasn't that heartless.
no subject
She gratefully accepted her hat with the tips of her fingers and smiled happily, even giggling a little, although she was still a bit tired.
"I... you know, I really don't remember! I was home, in Alola... that's the last place I remember being... could Nebby have teleported me again?"
But, he was asking about her friends? That surprised her!
"Have we met...?"
Was this an old friend of her mother's or perhaps her father's that she wouldn't remember...?
no subject
"Hm?" Glancing over to Lillie a frown formed. She didn't recognize him? That was odd. How could she so easily forget who he was? Unless...? "Have you perhaps hit your head somewhere?"
Lear spoke, not realizing how rude his question may come across. Hoopa was giggling once again while doing a little twirl in the air.
no subject
But before she could think to ask more questions about Hoopa, his question, rather than offending Lillie, impressed on her a look of genuine fear.
Snowy made a concerned, fox-like bark at her side, looking sadly up at her, as Lillie half-stumbled as she stepped back.
"... h-...have I lost my memories... again...?"
But what could have possibly led to her repressing memories this time?!
no subject
While he was considering such thoughts Lear took notice of her odd behavior. A frown formed as he stepped closer. What did she mean by having her memories wiped?
Oh no, oh heck. He looked around trying to find any signs of her friends, or really any familiar faces to help console her but unfortunate for him it was just them and their Pokemon.
"Calm down! You wouldn't be the only one with memory problems here! I don't exactly recall how I came here-" even if he had a sneaking suspicion it was because of his Hoopa, but he'll keep that information to himself. Speaking of Hoopa the little mischievous Pokemon made it's way over to Lillie before playfully nudging at her.
There's a sigh from Lear, deciding that fine. He'll relent to Hoopa's shenanigans for the time being.
"...and it seems Hoopa here doesn't want you to be too concerned either."
[layers of misunderstanding!]
Hoopa also made her feel braver and she gave it a gentle, reassuring smile, nodding at it in grateful acknowledgment, before turning sympathetic, but determined eyes to Lear.
"I'll help you remember, if you want to... if you're ready to. No matter how terrible a memory, I want to live knowing what happened to me."
oh nooooooo
"Ah...well trying to retrace my steps in how I come to arrive here shouldn't be that daunting of a task, I imagine." He hoped, anyway. Hoopa upon seeing Lillie's change in mood giggled as he did a little flip in the air.
"Hoopapapa!" He chimed in happily.

"Let's try," Lillie said in a resolute tone, then added gently. "Together, okay?"
no subject
Snowy nuzzled Lillie, then tried to stand on its back legs to get a better look at Hoopa, even leaping around.
no subject
Boy did that make Lear feel awkward, and was glad the subject changed to Hoopa. Hoopa, who was currently lowering down, closer to the ground to lean closer to Vulpix.
"This here is Hoopa." Lear glanced down over to his partner. "We've known one another for years now."
His gaze trailed over to Snowy looking over the Alolan Vulpix.
"So this is an Alolan Vulpix, is it not? Is this your partner Pokemon?" He hadn't seen Lillie with one before. He was far too used to seeing her with a Clefairy, not that it had been the only Pokemon she had been seen with back in Pasio.
no subject
"It's very nice to meet you, Hoopa," Lillie said, with a polite bow, before recalling as she blinked up at Lear. "Oh, sorry, and your friend...? I'm sorry I haven't remembered your name yet."
no subject
Was that supposed to be a compliment? He wasn't the best at them, but he was trying. At Lillie's mention of him not introducing himself he wanted to slap himself. Of course! She didn't know who he was, even if he knew her.
Placing his gloved hand upon his chest, he stood proudly.
"I am Lear, the creator of Pasio, and in charge of the PML!" His Hoopa floated back up to his side followed by a twirl.
"Hoopa!"
"Together, Hoopa and I will become the very best sync pair that ever was!"
no subject
Snowy liked that compliment, waving its fluffy tails and barking in agreement.
"How very nice to meet you, Mr. Lear," Lillie said with a sweet curtsey. "Oh, that sounds very impressive! But... what is the PML?"
no subject
He glanced over to his Hoopa who was enthusiastically bouncing about. Hoopa seemed delighted about the PML.
"In a sense it's a little like the Pokemon League, but with a set of different rules in place."
no subject
She exchanged wondering looks with Snowy. Could they take part in such a thing...?
no subject
She knew about Ash? Yet he hadn't heard of the two meeting...unless? Could it be...? He's trying to put the pieces together quietly, until Lillie's next question gave him further pause.
"No, any trainer who are willing to participate can join. After all, I'd imagine being a true Pokemon Master would be a long and difficult task. That would mean not everyone would be able to join the PML. It wouldn't make for a fun tournament."
Crossing his arms he's frowning as his mind is back to Ash again.
"Tell me...how do you know about Ash?"
Could she have met him through Scottie? He had been the one to find Ash collapsed out on the beach in Pasio, after all.
no subject
"That's true, I imagined it'd be something like the Masters 8 then, very exclusive..."
At the questions about Ash, she beamed.
"He's my friend and classmate! We went to school in Alola together. He was a good friend who always made me smile and gave me courage. He taught us all so much... he's also our first ever Champion!"
no subject
Classmates? First Alola Champion? That was different from what he knew about the Alolan Champion. Then there had been the curious case of both Selene and Elio. The gears in his mind are rolling once again as he sorted through his thoughts.
"I think, there's been a misunderstanding between the two of us." He's crossing his arms frowning. "You see, this friend of yours, Ash--he ended up in Pasio out of the blue while training for what did you call it? The Masters 8. As far as I know however, he hasn't met you, or rather the Lillie I'm familiar with."
Was that too grand of an explanation? No, if she was anything like the Lillie he knew, she had a bright mind. She knew what he was implying here.
no subject
“Another Lillie… another Ash… there might be more than one Alolan Champion in the future, who might also be in the Masters 8… it might have been another Ash, but if the Lillie you met resembled me so closely you confused us… if the boy named Ash also had spiky, black hair and a Pikachu on his shoulder, then…”
She stopped and turned on her heel then to face him.
“It would be logical to conclude… barring any transformed Pokemon or Ultra Beasts taking on our identities… again… that we may, in fact, be dealing with alternate realities across both time and space.”
no subject
"As far as we know, that Ash from Pallet Town isn't any Pokemon in disguise." He'll state in a matter of fact voice while pointing up (a habit, really). "The difference between you and her...she had been dressed differently, and the Pokemon she had been with was a Clefairy, and sometimes either a Ribombee or Lunala." He hadn't seen her with an Alolan Vulpix unless...
She was just waiting for an opportunity to use her Vulpix. That was entirely possible.
no subject
Maybe they diverged then…
no subject
Also there was Selene who was also Alola Champion but...it was best not to think about her right now. Unless she showed up in the future, or near future even.
"Of course I don't know all the details of her life. We aren't exactly close."
no subject
She wondered if this place drew in Fallers or had some other criteria...
no subject
He'll glance over to Hoopa who looked back at him. While Hoopa may be strong, Lear was certain he couldn't have sent them to a whole new world.
"But I shouldn't be too surprised. Pasio is full of many interesting Pokemon, and trainers after all." Was he preening? Being proud? Why yes of course he was, thank you very much! All those trainers were here thanks to his hardworking team, and himself.
no subject
Lillie's train of thought is quickly derailed by Lear's preening and she laughed a bit awkwardly. "... well, you sound very proud of it. You must love Pasio a lot. Is that your home?"
