Suddenly in the midst of a Summer Festival--

There's a distinct sound of waves, and bustling of people nearby.
In the coastal city of Turnbloom the sun is bright and warm, and the scent of the sea wafts through with the cool gentle breeze that makes the glittering pinwheels spin, and the leaves on the palm tree dance.
Today the streets are extra decorated with these cute, colorful and floral shaped pinwheels. It seemed the people who were out in the streets were dressed in colorful summer attire--either casual, or the more traditional yukata. It seemed like with the booths were set out for both food and games for festival of some kind that was currently underway.
Just how did you get here, and why? A mystery, and it seemed the people in the streets didn't seem to notice anything out of the ordinary as they go about enjoying their time out on this bright sunny day.

Was that supposed to be a compliment? He wasn't the best at them, but he was trying. At Lillie's mention of him not introducing himself he wanted to slap himself. Of course! She didn't know who he was, even if he knew her.
Placing his gloved hand upon his chest, he stood proudly.
"I am Lear, the creator of Pasio, and in charge of the PML!" His Hoopa floated back up to his side followed by a twirl.
"Hoopa!"
"Together, Hoopa and I will become the very best sync pair that ever was!"
no subject
Snowy liked that compliment, waving its fluffy tails and barking in agreement.
"How very nice to meet you, Mr. Lear," Lillie said with a sweet curtsey. "Oh, that sounds very impressive! But... what is the PML?"
no subject
He glanced over to his Hoopa who was enthusiastically bouncing about. Hoopa seemed delighted about the PML.
"In a sense it's a little like the Pokemon League, but with a set of different rules in place."
no subject
She exchanged wondering looks with Snowy. Could they take part in such a thing...?
no subject
She knew about Ash? Yet he hadn't heard of the two meeting...unless? Could it be...? He's trying to put the pieces together quietly, until Lillie's next question gave him further pause.
"No, any trainer who are willing to participate can join. After all, I'd imagine being a true Pokemon Master would be a long and difficult task. That would mean not everyone would be able to join the PML. It wouldn't make for a fun tournament."
Crossing his arms he's frowning as his mind is back to Ash again.
"Tell me...how do you know about Ash?"
Could she have met him through Scottie? He had been the one to find Ash collapsed out on the beach in Pasio, after all.
no subject
"That's true, I imagined it'd be something like the Masters 8 then, very exclusive..."
At the questions about Ash, she beamed.
"He's my friend and classmate! We went to school in Alola together. He was a good friend who always made me smile and gave me courage. He taught us all so much... he's also our first ever Champion!"
no subject
Classmates? First Alola Champion? That was different from what he knew about the Alolan Champion. Then there had been the curious case of both Selene and Elio. The gears in his mind are rolling once again as he sorted through his thoughts.
"I think, there's been a misunderstanding between the two of us." He's crossing his arms frowning. "You see, this friend of yours, Ash--he ended up in Pasio out of the blue while training for what did you call it? The Masters 8. As far as I know however, he hasn't met you, or rather the Lillie I'm familiar with."
Was that too grand of an explanation? No, if she was anything like the Lillie he knew, she had a bright mind. She knew what he was implying here.
no subject
“Another Lillie… another Ash… there might be more than one Alolan Champion in the future, who might also be in the Masters 8… it might have been another Ash, but if the Lillie you met resembled me so closely you confused us… if the boy named Ash also had spiky, black hair and a Pikachu on his shoulder, then…”
She stopped and turned on her heel then to face him.
“It would be logical to conclude… barring any transformed Pokemon or Ultra Beasts taking on our identities… again… that we may, in fact, be dealing with alternate realities across both time and space.”
no subject
"As far as we know, that Ash from Pallet Town isn't any Pokemon in disguise." He'll state in a matter of fact voice while pointing up (a habit, really). "The difference between you and her...she had been dressed differently, and the Pokemon she had been with was a Clefairy, and sometimes either a Ribombee or Lunala." He hadn't seen her with an Alolan Vulpix unless...
She was just waiting for an opportunity to use her Vulpix. That was entirely possible.
no subject
Maybe they diverged then…
no subject
Also there was Selene who was also Alola Champion but...it was best not to think about her right now. Unless she showed up in the future, or near future even.
"Of course I don't know all the details of her life. We aren't exactly close."
no subject
She wondered if this place drew in Fallers or had some other criteria...
no subject
He'll glance over to Hoopa who looked back at him. While Hoopa may be strong, Lear was certain he couldn't have sent them to a whole new world.
"But I shouldn't be too surprised. Pasio is full of many interesting Pokemon, and trainers after all." Was he preening? Being proud? Why yes of course he was, thank you very much! All those trainers were here thanks to his hardworking team, and himself.
no subject
Lillie's train of thought is quickly derailed by Lear's preening and she laughed a bit awkwardly. "... well, you sound very proud of it. You must love Pasio a lot. Is that your home?"
no subject
He put those thoughts aside for later as he set his focus back to Lillie. A smirk formed as he held his hand up, pointing upward with his gloved hand (a habit, really).
"No, but I am Pasio's creator."
no subject
Oh, he is dramatic, isn’t he? Lillie blinked in surprise at his theatrics, then again at his statement.
“Creator, really?!”
no subject
Soon a sigh left him as the reality of their current situation hung over his head once more.
"So being stuck here doesn't bode well for me, exactly..." He trusted both of his retainers, Sawyer and Rachel to take care of things in his absence but he couldn't be away for Pasio for that long. What if something happened while he was missing? The thought alone made him antsy.
[... I never sent this reply, apparently?]
"Y-yes, I'm sure... this is very new to you."
Please don't be power-hungry...
no worries!
He glanced over to Lillie noting the look she had on her face. Odd, was there something that made her react like that? Or maybe this entire situation was catching up to her. He should say something to cheer her up a little, shouldn't he?
"In any case, I'm sure there's bound to be clues on how to return home around here." As he's saying so his Hoopa's expression lit up. Without warning he's playfully opening up a portal as a number of peculiar, round, fried doughnuts with a smiley like crack fell onto Lear's head. Lear stood in shocked silence for a second before glaring at his Hoopa. "Hoopa, how many times must I tell you if you're hungry, just tell me?!"
"Hehehe!" Hoopa giggled in response before dropping a few more Sugar Doughtnuts, that all playfully pelted Lear in the process.
"Why do you never listen to me!?"
no subject
Being abducted isn’t new?!Well, that eased Lillie’s fears, at least for the time being, and she couldn’t help a small laugh at Hoopa’s antics.
“I’m sorry… but you really shouldn’t throw things on your trainer!” she tried to make it a lecturing tone, even wagging her finger at Hoopa, but it lacked any authoritative power.
no subject
Sometimes people just wanna abduct you, and put a stop to the tournament you kickstarted for Reasons! Don't worry about it.Hoopa's still giggling, now with the doughnuts in his hands. Lear all the while sighed, and made a bit of a face while being referred to as Hoopa's trainer. He couldn't help but stare at his partner Pokemon.
Hoopa sensing Lear's gaze looked over to him.
"Hoooopa!" Hoopa bounced about while waving his arms happily. In response Lear chuckled while placing his hands onto his hips.
"It's the first time anyone has referred to me as your trainer, isn't it Hoopa?"
"Papapapapa!" Hoopa cheered. Lear's lips twitch into a smirk in response. Of course Hoopa would know what was on his mind.
"Hmm, but that's not exactly correct."
no subject
That is a bit TOO concerning to just leave it at that…!“Oh, was I wrong?” Lillie said, surprised. “I’m sorry… are you only friends, then?”
no subject
"Hoopa!!"
[the internet connection is still really weak, but here goes! o/]
"Then, like Nebby..."
Or even Poipole! Befriended, but never caught.
"By coming here, you might have a chance to become even stronger, right?" Lillie asked.
heck yeah!!!
At Lillie's next question, Hoopa lifted up his arms letting out a happy cheer. Clearly he was delighted at the thought of becoming stronger in Ultern. Lear glanced over to Hoopa and back to Lillie.
"Of course, there will be plenty of fascinating trainers and Pokemon out there, even if they haven't formed a sync pair like those back in Pasio. It would be a valuable experience for the two of us."
