Suddenly in the midst of a Summer Festival--

There's a distinct sound of waves, and bustling of people nearby.
In the coastal city of Turnbloom the sun is bright and warm, and the scent of the sea wafts through with the cool gentle breeze that makes the glittering pinwheels spin, and the leaves on the palm tree dance.
Today the streets are extra decorated with these cute, colorful and floral shaped pinwheels. It seemed the people who were out in the streets were dressed in colorful summer attire--either casual, or the more traditional yukata. It seemed like with the booths were set out for both food and games for festival of some kind that was currently underway.
Just how did you get here, and why? A mystery, and it seemed the people in the streets didn't seem to notice anything out of the ordinary as they go about enjoying their time out on this bright sunny day.

"I'm Lucas." He then glanced at the bobblehead. "Um, I think he's some kind of musician? Though I think I heard he's a really strong Pokemon Trainer too."
Before continuing, he pulled out a pamphlet and a photo of Tobi for Gold to see. On the pamphlet, the text was written mostly in the undecipherable Ulternian script, but luckily the other side of the pamphlet had translated text. It describes about Tobi's concert tour starting in the next few days, the first one will be held in a concert hall which also happens to be Tobi's Pokemon Gym, while the next one will take place in another island away from this one.
"There was some kind of event going on earlier, and there were so many fans. I've never seen so many of them gathered in one place."
Their screams still echoed in his mind.

"I can't read that," he says blankly before Lucas flips the pamphlet over. "Oh, nevermind. Gym Leader?" Gold perks up, he knows what a Gym Leader is- but continuing to read has his face falling again. "A Gym Leader who's gonna go on a tour? Good for his fans, but how's anyone supposed to challenge the Gym then?"
How many fans can a Gym Leader-slash-musician have, anyway? Like thirty? Probably like thirty, Gold decides. That sounds like a big crowd to him, having never been to a concert in his life.

At least that's what he understood after watching a short documentary about the day in the life of an idol on TV back then. Seeing how much stuff they had to do in one day, living the life of a celebrity was hard and stressful.
"Though..." a thought occurred to him, "If there's a Pokemon Gym in this city, then there must be other Gyms around the region."
no subject
"Oh yeah! Good point!" he responds to Lucas' other point, brightening up. "There's gotta be other cities and Gyms!" He honestly hadn't thought of other cities in the region even existing until now.
If only all the maps of the region didn't have clouds mysteriously covering up most of the landmass."What was this city called, anyway? Turn... Turn-something City?"

And unfortunately for Lucas, he could never escape the thought of Crasher Wake belting out his own theme song. As slightly off-tune as it is.
"It's Turnbloom City." he answered, but a thought just occurred to him after having this conversation, "...I guess you're also like me, drifted."
no subject
"Drifted?" Gold asks, blinking. He feels like he's heard the term before in passing, but never before with such weight. "What does that mean?"
sorry for the delay!
"From what the locals told me, it's what they call someone who's suddenly taken from their world and dropped into this one." He paused, and wondered if Gold was aware of the fact he hopped into another world. "...It does sound crazy, but that's what they told me."
However to Lucas, this was nothing new to him.
no worries!
"Oh, so that's what that means," Gold says, nodding in understanding. Nami's mention of drifting earlier makes more sense now. "I guess it happens a lot around here then. That's good. Then there's gotta be some way to get back too!"
If it works one way, it's got to work the other way too, right?

He remembered how much they tried to set up different ways in capturing even a small clip of the Pokemon itself just swimming by like some sort of cryptid. It was pretty fascinating.
"Um, about that." Lucas fidgets his hands, "I really hate to break it to you, but earlier today, I tried to leave Turnbloom through the help of my Pokemon. But..."
He sighed.
"...The moment we flew off and went towards the horizon, something kept us from leaving and we ended up returning to this place instead."
Yeah uh, it's a problem.
no subject
"What? Seriously?" Gold frowns in annoyance, shoulders slumping. "Uuughhh, that's so unfairrr..." he groans. There goes the last of his hope of being able to go back and help Silver out.
no subject
Though Gold's reaction was expected, he couldn't help but feel bad about it and his expression softened.
"...I'm sure we'll find a way back." Lucas reassured, "It just might take some time before we figure it out how."
no subject
"You're right, I bet we'll get home somehow, if there's a whole lot of people who drifted here. One of them's gotta figure something out." Gold sighs, looking up at the slowly darkening sky. "I just dunno what I'm gonna do while waiting for that. Back in Johto I was just travelling and getting badges, but if the Gym Leader here is gonna be gone for a while, I can't even do that." Stupid Gym Leader, leaving his post. And for what? His adoring fans?
A sudden yawn makes its way out of Gold's mouth, surprising him a little. He blinks. "...And we gotta find some place to sleep tonight, too." Were there even Pokemon Centers in this town?
