Another day

[gold_drum]

A - Route 1

It's an ordinary day like any other, and if you pass by Professor Banyan's lab, you'll see Gold practicing kendama tricks out in the yard, too absorbed to notice you. He's not very good, but not disastrously bad either. Say hi to him?

B - Professor Banyan's house, backdated to the day after the summer festival

This morning, almost as soon as he wakes up, Gold sets out to look for Professor Banyan, hoping he's turned back to normal by now.

"Professor?" he calls out as he wanders around the house.

C - backdated to the day after the summer festival, closed to golddream

Once that's done, Gold's retreating to his room and calling Kam's number on his Pokegear.

"Hey Kam, I met another me," is how he greets him.

[chloeandeevee]

Chloe is walking along with Eevee and spots Gold. Smiling, she goes over. "Hi there."

Eevee exclaims in glee. "Vee! Vee-vee-vee!" She thinks it looks fun!

[gold_drum]

Gold looks up from bouncing the ball on the cup and gives a smile when he sees them.

"Oh hey, it's you! Uh..." He blanks out on the name. Did he ever even hear her name? "Ash's friend!"

Smiling at Eevee's enthusiasm, Gold shows off the most impressive trick he's mastered so far! It's nothing advanced, but it should look pretty cool.

[chloeandeevee]

"Yeah. I'm Chloe," she smiles.

Excited, Eevee jumps on two legs and tries to catch the ball herself.

Chloe tries to grab her. "No, Eevee! That's not how it works!"

[gold_drum]

"I'm Nugget! But you can call me Ed for short," Gold says, having gotten into fake names since the last time they met.

"Whoa!" He pulls the kendama back in surprise when Eevee tries to go for the ball, and ends up bonking himself on the head. "Ow!"

[chloeandeevee]

"Nugget?" Chloe blinks in surprise.

She's quickly distracted. "Oh no! Are you alright?!"

Eevee stops and looks up in concern. "Eevee?"

B

[ulternprofessor]

Beni, ever the early riser (or maybe he was up late researching as usual-) will be found with a cup of coffee in hand out in the living room. When he noticed Gold, the older man will smile over to him.

Nearby Tipper's curled up a sleep on the couch with Chikorita who's by the window sill eagerly absorbing the sunlight.

"G'morning Gold! What's up?"

[gold_drum]

"You're back!" Gold's smile brightens as he sees the Professor, and he practically prances over to sit near him, then gives him a searching stare. "Do you remember yesterday?"

[ulternprofessor]

"Huh?" Banyan's puzzled at Gold's question. Yesterday...was there something that happened the day before, that Gold wanted to ask about? His eyes narrow with his brows furrowing in thought. It's a good thing they've been living together for a while or he'd look like he's glaring at Gold for no apparent reason despite just trying to recall whatever Gold might be referencing to.

Eventually, he shook his head in defeat.

"Sorry Gold, but looks like I'm drawing a blank. I'm guessing I straight up clonked out in the middle of working on a report...? Sorry, that means I missed out making dinner for ya guys, didn't I?"

[gold_drum]

Yeah, Gold's used to that kind of an expression and just waits as Banyan tries to remember it. He sighs when Banyan doesn't.

"You don't, huh? Then you might be missing a whole day. You turned into a kid outta nowhere yesterday. It was a thing going around, I guess? I turned into a tiny brat for like a few hours too. So yeah..." Gold shrugs, leaning against the wall, looking at Banyan to see his reaction.

[ulternprofessor]

"Huh!?" Banyan's eyes are wide from shock at the news of not having memories for a whole day. "I turned teeny tiny? That's..."

Actually not that weird considering everything that goes on in Ultern, Banyan realized. He's rubbing the back of his neck frowning.

"I hope I didn't cause ya any trouble as a kiddo." He'll then stop before looking thoughtful. "...I wonder what could've caused all that and why I can't even remember what happen. I barely even remember getting outta bed the day before."

C for I C--

Kam was--doing Kam things(?) obviously. He was somewhere outside, when his Pokegear rang. What he didn't expect first thing was Gold's casualness in meeting a double.

"...what was that? When? Where?"

[gold_drum]

"Yesterday, at the festival," Gold says, still casual. "A lot happened after that, so I couldn't call, but I'm pretty sure he was from your world. He said his name was Ethan, but that was probably a lie."

[golddream]

Maybe it was a good thing they weren't talking about this in person. Kam didn't want Gold to see the hopeful look that formed on his face. Bringing a hand up to his face to try and calm himself he'll respond.

"...yeah? What makes you think he's from my world? There's plenty of others here, from different worlds, and regions even."

[gold_drum]

"Good question!" Gold grins as he sits cross-legged on his bed. "There's a bunch of stuff he said that made me kinda suspicious, but the biggest one is, when I asked for his phone number, he gave me yours. I feel like that kinda gives him away."

[golddream]

Kam listened once more. What had Gold's double said that were suspicious? He waits on Gold to elaborate until he dropped the bomb about the phone number. He grows quiet, as his grip on the Pokegear tightened.

"...that's him. It's Silver. I don't think he was trying to throw you off by giving out that number." Kam's gaze moved upward, gazing at how the leaves swayed from the wind. "Because this Pokegear used to be his."

A

[buson]

The sound of the old toy is familiar to Buson, nostalgic even, and he can't help but stop and look in its direction... oh, boy, it's the Hero Boy-look-alike Gold.

He's booking it!

[gold_drum]

The sound of someone running gets Gold's attention. Oh, it's Attila, whatever. Wait, it's Attila! The guy Gold needs to talk to!

"Heeeey! Attila!" he calls out as he takes of running after him, tossing the kendama aside. "I gotta talk to you!"

[buson]

"Aw, come on!!"

Buson didn't even want to see this kid, why'd he have to run into him?!

Why's he chasing him?!

"I was just passing through!!"

[gold_drum]

"Yeah, good timing!" Gold yells, still chasing. "Stop running already, I just wanna talk!"

But running after him is a pain, so Gold pushes the SELECT button pulls out his bike from his backbag, gets on it faster than should be humanly possible and rides the bike after Attila. Game protagonist powers!

[oh my God]

[buson]

"What the hell?!"

Buson has to stop at that, because it's just so shocking and bizarre... and it's a good thing, too, he couldn't help staring and he was this close to slamming face-first into a utility pole.

"I ain't followin' nobody, alright?! The sound caught my attention, that's all. Had somethin' like it when I was a brat..."

Buson's watching Gold warily, not really trusting it to just be a talk.

"Hey, what is that?" Georgia asks, looking curious. "Looks kinda tricky."

[gold_drum]

"This?" Gold asks, bouncing the ball up and down in the cup. "It's a kendama. Trip got it for me, so I've been practicing with it."

[dragonbuster]

Georgia watches, curiously. "You're pretty good! Trip did? Huh, that's funny, doesn't really seem his style... he's always going on about being an adult, too cool for any of this kid stuff, apparently. Like he'd up and die if you pushed him into a toy shop or tried to get him to play with something."

She smiles in amusement, eyes gleaming, as she watches Gold. "It looks fun! Can I give it a whirl?"

[gold_drum]

"Huh, really? I guess that sounds like him," Gold shrugs. But he frowns thoughtfully as he looks at the kendama. If that's how it is, then Trip must've really gone out of his comfort zone to buy it for Gold. Not to mention the plushie, too... Gold's not sure why Trip went to so much effort, but he feels a new warmth towards him. (Also now he kind of wishes he'd seen Trip go to that toy store, it must've been funny.)

"Yeah, sure! Here you go," he says with a smile, handling Georgia the kendama.

[dragonbuster]

"Must've really liked you," Georgia muses.

She takes it happily. "Thanks! Haha, almost thought you'd tell me not to steal it."

Georgia has no intention of stealing it, of course, she's just cracking a joke.

She tries, but despite going at it with full confidence, only succeeds in hitting the ball off the side of the little cup.

Another attempt, even more aggressive this time! She bops herself in the nose.
