[If you're listening to the radio today, there's a special announcement in the middle of the afternoon, after Ken's usual program has ended.]

-We interrupt this program for some special news! In Ohritori Island, a large swarm of Cutiefly have appeared in Route 2, near the Berry Farm! It seems they've drifted in from Alola. We ask any trainers to help with managing the swarm. A Cutiefly's natural habitat is in the Wildflower Cape, in Route 4, so we'd appreciate the help in relocating them there! So if you catch a lot of Cutiefly, please release them in Route 4 instead of anywhere else! I'd love to be there and do that myself, but I'm all the way at Chura Islands...

[Ken goes on to describe Cutiefly, it's habits and habitats. But maybe you're not listening to the radio, and doing something else instead?]

[When Kam chooses the name, Gold frowns. From looking at the faces he's been making, he's starting to feel like Kam doesn't actually like the names he picked.]

If you don't like it, then you suggest names too. I dunno what kinda name you want, but I don't wanna make you go with a name you don't like. That's no fun.

[He's fine with calling himself Straw, though. As far as he's concerned, all the names he picked are good ones!]

[Why was Gold looking at him like that-oh. Was it obvious he wasn't exactly onboard with those names?

Kam wasn't like Chris. Not that he didn't have a sense of humor, or fun but it wasn't something he was allowed so often. So at Gold's suggestion of coming up with names, Kam could come up with suggestions froze.

Oh heck, oh no.]

[He's scrambling to think of something.]

Bronze. What about Bronze? There's also Steel, Nickel... Nugget?

[Internally he just wanted to curl up in a hole. This was the grave he's digging for himself.]

[Gold waits patiently for the names! He's only a little bit annoyed that his names weren't good enough. But Kam's suggestions are pretty good too!]

Bronze... [That name rings a bell for him. He swears he heard it somewhere... Oh, right.] I think another world's you has a sister named Bronze. Anyway, I like Nugget! But with Nickel you could go by Nick as a nickname!

[He grins at his own pun.]

[wym his dad had more than one child that's horrible actually. Even Kam's expression says as much at the reveal of having a sister. In other universes Silvers with a sister sneezes.]

So do you have a strong preference for any of the names we've come up with? .......

I'm fine with any. Even any of the ones you came up with.

[Gold, who doesn't know Silver's dad is Giovanni, and also doesn't know the Silver with a sister he's heard about is from a world where his dad isn't Giovanni, has nothing he could say to ease Kam's worries. Instead, he looks at Kam's expression of horror and decides he'd better not say anything about his family anymore. Keeping his smile up, Gold pretends he didn't notice anything was off.]

I like Scrumbo and Nugget the most! But I guess you hated Scrumbo, so let's be Nugget!

[He holds out a hand for a high five. He even decides not to respond to the "even" comment. What's wrong with the names he came up with!]

[Of course Gold's choices would be Scrumbo or Nugget. If he wasn't a perpetual frowning already he would be frowning. In any case, Kam gave a nod.]

Alright, Nugget it is then.

[boy if Silver was around, Kam was sure he'd cheer for him. Way to go! You talked things out with someone!

Kam mentally shoved that thought away.]

Better to use a fake name than your real one anyway. It's easier to get people off your tracks.

[Gold repeats it cheerfully for no real reason.]

Yeah, I'm starting to think a fake name would be good! A guy already figured out where I live once, and that lead to a whole mess... Anyway, even though a lot of people already know my name, I'm gonna start introducing myself as Nugget! That'll confuse them.

What guy followed you? Is he still around?

[Sorry Gold, Kam here is focused on the fact some guy sniffed out wherever Gold was living. That is concerning! He should kill him??? Kam nooo this game is SFW]

Don't worry about it, I got it under control!

[Gold waves it off cheerfully. He's kind of happy about the protective reaction though! also that guy's player may already be planning on temporarily killing him]

[Nope, you can't deflect this one.]

Yeah, he's around. Seriously, it's fine.

[Gold sighs, he can see he can't just roll this off without an explanation. He starts explaining with an almost bored "yadda yadda yadda"-like tone to his voice.]

He's friends with Ken, who's brothers with another me, so he's not gonna hurt me because it'd make Ken sad and the guy's real overprotective about Ken. So yeah, to sum it up... it's under control.

[There's a sigh, and Kam looking off to his side. At least he's not contemplating murder Buson's already suffering.]

At least tell me the guy's name so I can just avoid him.

[Because ugh gross, people caring??? No thank you.]

[Well, it looks like Kam's finally convinced! Him asking about the name has Gold mildly suspicious, but eh, Attila's probably not the guy's real name anyway.]

It's Attila, or Buson, or maybe something else too. Dude loves fake names as much as you do! He's a big, buff, blonde guy who wears shades.

[Gold's tone turns more serious, smile fading.]

...But just to make it clear, you're gonna avoid him, not go find him and break his fingers or anything, right? If Attila gets hurt because I told you about him, that's just gonna be a big mess and I don't wanna be part of that.

[Caring about other people is such a pain, but Gold's started having to do that more often these days. It'd be so much easier to go back to the old days when he only cared about himself... But this is the kind of person Gold is now, and he feels like he prefers himself this way.]

[Kam's making mental note of Gold's descriptions and possible names both being real but they'll never know--. At Gold's question however, Kam considered his options. Either be a reckless moron like a certain someones he knew or play it smart.

There's a light shrug from his shoulders, as he turned to look at Gold.]

My aim isn't to cause any loud mess or trouble. I don't want to stand out, for one.

[And if there's potential of Gold getting wrapped up in it, all the more reasons to avoid it. He's definitely not Silver, but his appearance reminded Kam too much about it.]

["Even more so if it involves you." Somehow that makes Gold feel warm, and he smiles, more natural than most of his smiles.]

[Gold is totally up to causing loud mess and trouble, as long as it doesn't cause problems for people he cares about. But he'll keep that to himself!]

[That wasn't what he meant but gosh dang, Gold looked so accomplished. He wasn't going to rain on that parade. Instead, there's a chuckle as he stuffed his hands into his pockets.]

Well, not everyone can go around and do that. Sounds like you're set to me.

[He got a chuckle! Gold grins, proud of himself, and stuffs his hands into his pockets too.]

Yep, I'm pretty great! Anyway, it was great meeting you, but I gotta get going soon. Wanna trade numbers?

[Gold brings out his Pokegear and shows it off.]

You got one of these? I got this modded at a shop in town recently so I can save a whole bunch of numbers now!

[Gold had been living with room for only ten numbers for so long, and meeting so many people in Ultern really put a strain on that storage space. He's assuming Kam's from a world with a similar level of technology as his, too.]

[At Gold's suggestion, Kam seemed to be considering it. Digging into his pocket he'll pull out a Pokegear--one that's identical to Gold's but that's probably the least surprising thing all things considered.]

Alright, sure. It'll come in handy having you on dial anyway.

[He only has so much space for numbers too but that wasn't any concern as of yet.]

My number's this--

[Kam will proceed to give out his number to Gold.]

[Same model of Pokegear, makes sense. Gold's not actually sure if his Silver has a Pokegear, but if he does, that's exactly how he'd expect it to look. He inputs Kam's number and saves it under the name "Nugget".]

Okay, got it! And my number is-

[And Gold gives his number to Kam, as well.]

[Oh? Same hat, because Kam is most definitely inputting Gold's name as "Nugget" too. Can't be too safe even if Ultern is very safe.]

[Gold waves, and begins to walk away. He promised to be home at Professor Banyan's lab by dinner, after all. He would've told Kam where that is, and maybe even invited him to dinner, but after that stalker incident, he's resistant to tell anyone where he lives, even someone around his own age.]
