[MINI EVENT] ☆T A N A B A T A☆

Those from the four regions of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh will be very familiar with the sight of bamboo stalks that are left outside decorated with colorful and sparkly paper decorations. There are people gathering around, helping one another put up paper amulet of varying colors to tie around the bamboo branches. On each amulet is a single wish that’s been handwritten by someone.
One can only hope that their wish will be heard…

At night, there’s a surprise to be found: an alternate colored Jirachi is out dressed in what’s clearly a handmade costume. Around its neck, is a colorful paper chain made of sparkly origami paper.

Not only has Jirachi come to grant wishes, Miniors are out and about bright and colorful. They’ll be dancing around seemingly trying to invite people to come join them in the festivities.
((OOC: Happy Tanabata! In the morning is a general mingle post. But as the evening sets in and Jirachi appears, it will start granting the wish written on your amulet whether big or small -- wealth, a long life, or maybe a way to return home. You're free to catch Miniors too, and there's a slightly better chance of encountering a shiny one as well. Just be careful of the ones still in their shell or you might just get a rather explosive surprise...
This event can take place at any town, so feel free to specify a location!))

Ohritori Island, Various Locations
[Chenzira actually took part in this festival last year! So he's very excited to be celebrating it this year although he's a little sad he doesn't get to spend it with Marik. He knows his trainer wouldn't want him to dwell on it. He told him to have fun and make new friends so that's what he's going to do.
While he's capable of human speech, is able to read a little, he can't write very well. More like trying to get a three year old to write something. It's chicken scratch.
Blame his trainer. He looks down at his amulet, furrows his brow with his tongue sticking out of his mouth, and a pen in his hand.He requires some assistance.]
[B. Miniors]
[The Yamask watches the glowing pokémon curiously from afar. He's never seen them before...! But he knows approaching wild pokémon can be startling for them so he'll keep his distance.
It'll at least give him a neat story to tell Marik!]
[C. Bistro Le Yago]
[You should always try the local cuisine when celebrating holidays to better experience the culture!... is what Marik would say. Chenzira sits at one of the countertops, sipping an ApriJuice and a plate of Curry. The stools on either side of him are open if anyone cares to join him.]
[OOC: Default to brackets but I can do prose if preferred!]
A
Ulsai, friend! Are you writing down your wish?
[He'll walk closer with a bright smile on his face.]
Would you like me to hang it up when you're done?
no subject
Oool-sigh.
[Chen still hasn't gotten the hang of saying that particular phrase. He looks down at his amulet then the pen. He's going to need help tying it to a branch for sure too.]
Yes please. Mmnn... How to write "wish" an' "always?"
no subject
Let me show you!
[He'll write out "wish" but it looked more like he wrote ys!m, and always looked more like 2hbmlb. Yet he didn't seem to see anything wrong with his handwriting as he happily shows it to Chen.]
Here, this is how you write it! Now, you give it a try!
no subject
Then he slowly floats to turn himself upside down.
Chen begins to carefully write while still upside down, his little tongue sticking out as he concentrates.
"I wish to always be with Marik."
It's written like a child but hey, at least he got it! He rights himself and looks at his handiwork then looks up at Larson and smiles.]
Thingid'd good. Is okay to share wishes? So I know... I write it right.
no subject
[Larson's encouraging still! No matter how Chen's writing turned out, what mattered to him was the effort put into it.]
Of course it's okay! Everyone's sharing their wishes up here, so you should too. The more the merrier!
no subject
Thangyuu for help. I hope... everyone wishes come true... Do they usually come true?
no subject
I hope everyone's wish comes true too! Don't you worry--I'm sure that it will! Even if it doesn't happen tonight, it will surely come true someday. Tonight I think what's important is that we don't forget our own dreams and hopes.
no subject
He claps his hands excitedly but softly at Larson's words.]
Thas good... That makes me happy...
What did you wish for? If... is okay to ask.
no subject
I hope that yours come true too, friend.
[At Chenzira's question he nodded indicating he didn't mind as he gestured to his own wish. Although much like the way he had written our wish and always... his was hard to decipher for anyone not used to Ulternian handwriting.]
My wish... I wished that I can make people happy with the food I make!
no subject
Thangyuu.
[Chen looks at the amulet and squints. He might have been able to piece together two lone words but reading a full sentence in Ulternian is more than he can handle. So he gives up on that, instead listening to Larson say what he wished for.]
You make food?
[Marik's best friend was a good cook too. Maybe Larson is similar!]
Whad kind?
(no subject)
(no subject)
[C, long time no see! ^^]
... could you be the Yamask from the amusement park, that one time?
[There's more than one Yamask in the world, of course, but not really wild ones in Ultern, right? So, Trip couldn't help but notice Chenzira.]
[Hihi! <3]
Oh...! Yes. Hi.
[He's a bit better spoken than last time but still soft in volume.]
Thangyuu for taking pics! Marik very happy when I show him.
no subject
You've gotten better, your accent's improved. Your words are so clear.
[Oh, Marik, his trainer? Trip smiled.] So you got to go home too? That's great...
[Trip's a bit
too shy awkward timidreluctant to ask if Chenzira's waiting for someone or not, so he simply stood there, instead of taking a seat!]no subject
Ahh... y-you thing so...?
[He slowly lowers his hands, nodding in answer to Trip's question. At least that distracts him from his own shyness]
Mmn! Was very nice. We live in Lavender now. Marik open a Cyclizar dealer... dealership? Store... place.
[And Chen's too timid to tell him he can sit. There is a way around this though!]
... You want food? Is good here.
[them both being shy is adorable, though!]
Lavender as in… Lavender Town in the Kanto region, right? With all the Ghost types? Do you feel at home there?
It sounds interesting, although calling it a store feels a little strange, he’s not selling the Pokemon, is he? [That sounds a bit too Poacher or Hunter-esque.] It’s more like… renting ride Pokemon, right?
And yeah, I’d love to order something. Can I sit here?
[That worked! Trip sat down.]
[It is ;;]
Mn! I like it. Marik seems at home too. He a tombgheeper. So ghosts don' bother him.
[He's thinking of how to describe it and is about to make things sound really bad unintentionally.]
He breed Cyclizar. Chafu is very big and... ah... "has many wives?" Is what Marik says... Harem? I hear him say that word too.
[Chen doesn't understand.
Marik you really need to watch what you say around him.]But he hatch and raise them then find good owners or renters who wanna ride like mo... modorcycle! Everyone happy!
[As weird and shark tank like as it sounds, the teenager takes very good care of his stock. Not that anyone here knows that since Chenzira doesn't understand how people take his vague descriptions.]
Yes, please! Am by myself so... is nice to have friend!
[1/?; Chen, baby--it's perfectly appropriate for Marik's culture, but, unfortunately...!]
[Trip was about to simply assume he worked in a regular cemetary or even for a family tomb, like the ones here in Ultern, and that Chenzira was simply using a term from his first lifetime—]
[2/?]
H-... harem?
[3/?]
L-... like an Arabian prince or something?
[4/5]
... yes. I'm glad we're friends.
[5/5]
You'd breed the ones with the most desirable traits and... I suppose if the purpose is to be ridden, the bigger a Cyclizar, the better-suited it is for the job.
I-is the juice good? Spicy food isn't really my thing, although my friend loves them... I won't be trying the curry, but I'm considering the juice. [Topic change!!]
[dfgdsd i'm so sorry. i was like "should i have put a warning..."]
[Marik's explained... everything to him but. You know. Chen can't quite comprehend how important or significant things are as he isn't from the teen's homeworld.
The Yamask eats a bit of his curry while poor Trip has to deal with all of that. He thinks nothing of it. His trainer just has a certain unfiltered way of talking around him.
Without missing a beat though, he chimes in with a quick --] Pharaoh. [-- before continuing to eat a small forkful of his meal. (Marik made sure to use that word when describing his first Cyclizar.) He doesn't make a big show of it like he does when someone outright compliments him but Chenzira can't hide how big his smile gets upon being called Trip's friend. It's really cool to have friends he made on his own.
Trip's assessment seems accurate enough as Chen nods in response, still smiling.]
Me too. And tha's how he eggsplain.
[Completely oblivious to any distress he may have caused his friend, he looks at his drink for a moment.]
Mn! Is very good. ApriJuice. Dunno whaddit is but good.
[a warning is always a good idea for the future! o/ ... although, it was all misunderstanding!]
[Tombkeepers, Pharaohs, harems...]
Is your trainer Egyptian, then?
[This has been a unique day (
Trip, it's hardly noon)... oh, but if he really thought about it, he supposed the Yamask line would be very fitting for someone like that...]Oh, it's made from Apricorns! They're used to make pokeballs in the Johto region. They're too tough to eat, as they are, because of their shells, but they can be blended to make juice... I've never tried it.
[It was more of a drink suited to Pokemon, but Trip felt curious about it too.] I'll have one too! And maybe a mille-feuille.
[will do!]
Mm! His family important. Sister gollects and... takes care of relics!
[He holds up his drink to look at it. He's heard of Apricorns but doesn't know a lot about them.]
They make pokeballs...?
[The Yamask peers into the straw.]
Tastes like... tart. But sweet? Whaddis mille-feuille?
[good, good ^^]
