Those from the four regions of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh will be very familiar with the sight of bamboo stalks that are left outside decorated with colorful and sparkly paper decorations. There are people gathering around, helping one another put up paper amulet of varying colors to tie around the bamboo branches. On each amulet is a single wish that’s been handwritten by someone.

One can only hope that their wish will be heard…

At night, there’s a surprise to be found: an alternate colored Jirachi is out dressed in what’s clearly a handmade costume. Around its neck, is a colorful paper chain made of sparkly origami paper.

Not only has Jirachi come to grant wishes, Miniors are out and about bright and colorful. They’ll be dancing around seemingly trying to invite people to come join them in the festivities.

((OOC: Happy Tanabata! In the morning is a general mingle post. But as the evening sets in and Jirachi appears, it will start granting the wish written on your amulet whether big or small -- wealth, a long life, or maybe a way to return home. You're free to catch Miniors too, and there's a slightly better chance of encountering a shiny one as well. Just be careful of the ones still in their shell or you might just get a rather explosive surprise...

This event can take place at any town, so feel free to specify a location!))

[What do you know? Larson was out and about to go hang up his own wish too! Noticing Chenzira with a paper amulet his eyes lit up in delight.]

Ulsai, friend! Are you writing down your wish?

[He'll walk closer with a bright smile on his face.]

Would you like me to hang it up when you're done?

[He looks up at the new voice.]

Oool-sigh.

[Chen still hasn't gotten the hang of saying that particular phrase. He looks down at his amulet then the pen. He's going to need help tying it to a branch for sure too.]

Yes please. Mmnn... How to write "wish" an' "always?"

[Oh so sweet! Larson wasn't expecting a response like that. He's nodding while smiling encouragingly to Chen.]

Let me show you!

[He'll write out "wish" but it looked more like he wrote ys!m, and always looked more like 2hbmlb. Yet he didn't seem to see anything wrong with his handwriting as he happily shows it to Chen.]

Here, this is how you write it! Now, you give it a try!

[The Yamask looks at the writing, furrowing his brow as he looks over it. Tilt his head one way. Then another. That doesn't look quite right... What's wrong though?

Then he slowly floats to turn himself upside down.

Chen begins to carefully write while still upside down, his little tongue sticking out as he concentrates.

"I wish to always be with Marik."

It's written like a child but hey, at least he got it! He rights himself and looks at his handiwork then looks up at Larson and smiles.]

Thingid'd good. Is okay to share wishes? So I know... I write it right.

You did such a great job!

[Larson's encouraging still! No matter how Chen's writing turned out, what mattered to him was the effort put into it.]

Of course it's okay! Everyone's sharing their wishes up here, so you should too. The more the merrier!

[He did a great job...! Chenzira smiles shyly and swishes his tail back and forth. He tucks his pen into his backpack and presents the amulet to Larson to help him tie it up since he isn't quite sure how to do so.]

Thangyuu for help. I hope... everyone wishes come true... Do they usually come true?

[Larson will take the paper amulet and will gingerly tie it up onto the bamboo branch. He'll be sure to put it up as high as he can for Chenzira. Once he's done he'll look over with a smile.]

I hope everyone's wish comes true too! Don't you worry--I'm sure that it will! Even if it doesn't happen tonight, it will surely come true someday. Tonight I think what's important is that we don't forget our own dreams and hopes.

[Chen is very happy with the placement. He'd be happy with it anywhere though. It's just nice to see his work on display...!

He claps his hands excitedly but softly at Larson's words.]

Thas good... That makes me happy...

What did you wish for? If... is okay to ask.

[Larson is all sunny and smiles. He was delighted to see Chenzira happy.]

I hope that yours come true too, friend.

[At Chenzira's question he nodded indicating he didn't mind as he gestured to his own wish. Although much like the way he had written our wish and always... his was hard to decipher for anyone not used to Ulternian handwriting.]

My wish... I wished that I can make people happy with the food I make!

[Thankfully it doesn't take much for him to be happy these days. Perhaps when he was first brought into the waking world but he's done a lot of growing up over the past year.]

[Chen looks at the amulet and squints. He might have been able to piece together two lone words but reading a full sentence in Ulternian is more than he can handle. So he gives up on that, instead listening to Larson say what he wished for.]

You make food?

[Marik's best friend was a good cook too. Maybe Larson is similar!]

Whad kind?

That's right! I love to cook for others!

[He laughed before thinking on Chenzira's question.]

Hmmm I make a lot of thinks! I work at the cafe in the Pokemon Center you see. In fact...

[He'll dig into his pockets to pull out a small pouch of colorful cookies shaped like stars.]

I just made these for today! They're sugar cookies. Would you like some?

Ah...!

[Chenzira's eyes light up at the sight of the cookies. Marik has absolutely given him have a sweet tooth along with his Timid Nature.]

Yes, please...! Sweets are... my favorite!
