Those from the four regions of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh will be very familiar with the sight of bamboo stalks that are left outside decorated with colorful and sparkly paper decorations. There are people gathering around, helping one another put up paper amulet of varying colors to tie around the bamboo branches. On each amulet is a single wish that’s been handwritten by someone.

One can only hope that their wish will be heard…

At night, there’s a surprise to be found: an alternate colored Jirachi is out dressed in what’s clearly a handmade costume. Around its neck, is a colorful paper chain made of sparkly origami paper.

Not only has Jirachi come to grant wishes, Miniors are out and about bright and colorful. They’ll be dancing around seemingly trying to invite people to come join them in the festivities.

((OOC: Happy Tanabata! In the morning is a general mingle post. But as the evening sets in and Jirachi appears, it will start granting the wish written on your amulet whether big or small -- wealth, a long life, or maybe a way to return home. You're free to catch Miniors too, and there's a slightly better chance of encountering a shiny one as well. Just be careful of the ones still in their shell or you might just get a rather explosive surprise...

This event can take place at any town, so feel free to specify a location!))

[Marik's explained... everything to him but. You know. Chen can't quite comprehend how important or significant things are as he isn't from the teen's homeworld.

The Yamask eats a bit of his curry while poor Trip has to deal with all of that. He thinks nothing of it. His trainer just has a certain unfiltered way of talking around him.

Without missing a beat though, he chimes in with a quick --] Pharaoh. [-- before continuing to eat a small forkful of his meal. (Marik made sure to use that word when describing his first Cyclizar.) He doesn't make a big show of it like he does when someone outright compliments him but Chenzira can't hide how big his smile gets upon being called Trip's friend. It's really cool to have friends he made on his own.

Trip's assessment seems accurate enough as Chen nods in response, still smiling.]

Me too. And tha's how he eggsplain.

[Completely oblivious to any distress he may have caused his friend, he looks at his drink for a moment.]

Mn! Is very good. ApriJuice. Dunno whaddit is but good.

A... Pharaoh, I see.

Is your trainer Egyptian, then?

[This has been a unique day (~~Trip, it's hardly noon~~)... oh, but if he really thought about it, he supposed the Yamask line would be very fitting for someone like that...]

Oh, it's made from Apricorns! They're used to make pokeballs in the Johto region. They're too tough to eat, as they are, because of their shells, but they can be blended to make juice... I've never tried it.

[It was more of a drink suited to Pokemon, but Trip felt curious about it too.] I'll have one too! And maybe a mille-feuille.

[Chen nods happily. The choice of him being his starter was rather on the nose. Arceus works in mysterious ways.]

Mm! His family important. Sister gollects and... takes care of relics!

[He holds up his drink to look at it. He's heard of Apricorns but doesn't know a lot about them.]

They make pokeballs...?

[The Yamask peers into the straw.]

Tastes like... tart. But sweet? Whaddis mille-feuille?

Tart, but sweet? I might like it. I'll try it. [He'll order both, then!]

Mille-feuille. It means thousand-leaves or thousand-sheets.

You know, like the bugs? Millipedes... or like in the word millimeter. Mille means a thousand, but it doesn't have to really mean a thousand, it could just mean a lot of something. Feuille means leaves. It's a Kalosian dessert, made of layers of puff pastry and pastry cream.

I hope you like. If not... I can drink?

[As not to waste it! Chen's eyes widen at the description of the dessert. His trainer has a bit of a sweet tooth and due to his own Timid nature, it seems he has one too.]

Oooh... Like... cream puff? But layers... Sounds good. Like... baklava?

A little bit like that, I suppose, but softer and creamier. No nuts.

[Chenzira’s reaction is cute! When his order arrives, Trip will be sure to knock his cake sideways (to make it easier to cut without falling apart as messily, even if some messiness is inevitable with mille-feuille), and divide it in two, pushing one half closer to Chenzira.]

Here, this half’s for you.

[He’ll sip at his drink too.]

Oohhh...

[He likes puff pastries best. They're like eating little clouds! Chen watches as Trip splits the cake and offers him half, looking up at him still wide-eyed.]

Oh... You sure...? You don'... need to give me half...

[It does look very good though...]

Take it, I don’t need that much food. [Trip’s amused and continued to drink the juice.]

… it’s good. I suppose I should thank you for telling me what it tastes like. I doubt I would’ve tried it on my own. [He was a bit more inclined to eat and drink the same sort of thing, rather than the adventurous sort, but Chenzira describing it first felt less like going in blind.]

See? We’re even this way.

[The Yamask bows his head.]

[Chen offers a little smile, glad to see Trip enjoys the drink. It's a little unusual but still good. As for the mille-feuille, he attempts to cut a smaller piece for himself and tries a forkful.

Chew a couple of times.

Then stares up at the trainer. Then the desert. Then Trip.]

Oh... is really good...!

[He very daintily but quickly eats the rest of it, looking as happy as can be. He'll need to tell Marik about this when he returns home!

[What an absolute sweetheart! So cute... he reminds him of Vanillite, but much, much quieter, more shy. If Chenzira didn't have a trainer already, Trip would offer to catch him.]

I'm happy too... thank you for inviting me to sit with you.

I usually eat alone, but sitting with someone else is nice, from time to time... I think I'd like to do this more often.

[Maybe he'll get to meet Marik someday and he can suggest letting Chen stay with him for periods of time. He does it with his Gengar. Not that Marik has much choice in that matter on that one but still.

Chenzira looks up as he takes a sip of his drink and nods.]

Mmn...! When you see me... please sit with me. Or adventure with me! You are friend. Is nice to have friends...
