Enter: Ultern's Pokemon Professor!

EARLY MORNING - THE BANYAN RESIDENCE
[There's a welcoming scent of coffee wafting through the air. It seems to be coming from the lone home in the middle of the route as the windows are left open. The sun was only starting to rise, painting the surrounding scenery with reds and oranges, as the waves create a gentle splashing sound.

The person within the home seemed to not be big on security, as the front door at the front deck of the home was propped wide open with a rocking chair. Unsurprisingly there's a Pokemon perched on top of it--a yellow skinned Chikorita that could be easily mistaken for a shiny one, if it weren't for the fact its leaf was green. Perhaps it was there to soak up the light from the rising sun.

Not soon after, a man--barefoot, and not quite yet dressed for the day will step out onto the deck with a mug of coffee in hand.]

Ah, another wonderful morning. Don't ya think, Chikorita?

[The professor grinned wide while taking in the seaside view.]

MORNING - OUT IN THE YARD
[You know what's the best thing to do in the mornings? GARDENING!

The Pokemon Professor of this region--Professor Banyan is seen with his signature sunglasses, and straw hat already on along with a pair of gardening gloves. His iconic white lab coat is nowhere to be seen on his person so it wouldn't be a surprise if anyone mistook him as some ordinary gardener.

He's watering the flowers, and other plants in the yard (that wasn't fenced off) before turning his attention to the grass type Pokemon who congregated around him. He has a Sprinklotad in hand as he smiled wide.]

Now don't push! I've got plenty of water for everyone!

AFTERNOON - SEASIDE TRAIL
[Professor Banyan, the Pokemon Professor of this region will be out and about on the beach. He could be find doing the following:

►Sitting on the beach, seemingly relaxing. Who wouldn't want to take a moment to kick back and soak up the sun when the weather is nice and sunny? For whatever reason there's a Staryu that's laying right next to him, no doubt also sunbathing.

►Taking notes of the surrounding Pokemon! He has a notepad in hand, with his gaze set on a pair of Tentacool happily swaying along with the waves, to a nearby Sandygast that sat on the sand where a curious little Pikachu with brown paws, and a light colored belly sniffed at it.

In fact he might even approach any nearby Trainer who had their Pokemon out of their Pokeball with his eyes lighting up with intrigue and interest despite being hidden behind his sunglasses.

►Out training or really, playing with his Pokemon as Professor Banyan, still out on the sandy beach is now seen with a trio of Pokemon - a yellow skinned Chikorita, the brown pawed, light colored belly Pikachu, and Staryu. There’s a confident smirk on his face.]

Alright, are you three ready?

[He’s holding what’s clearly a sparkly ball in his hand.]

The one to get this the fastest wins! Here goes!

[He’ll be seen winding up his left arm before throwing the ball as far as he could across the beach. In an instant Pikachu and Chikorita dashed through the sand leaving Banyan alone with Staryu. Noticing this, he chuckled before kneeling next to Staryu to place a hand upon it.]

They’re getting faster, aren’t they?

[Unfortunately for Banyan, his early morning coffee time is interrupted by the sounds of yelling. Maybe he might mistake it for the cries of Fearow or Dodrio, but nope. These are the sounds of a young boy falling down from a giant hole in the sky. Just another Tuesday I'd say-

Following after everything that happened earlier in Turnbloom, Ash and Snorlax ungraciously crash lands onto Banyan's front yard. His Pikachu soon follows after, dropping onto Ash as his makeshift cushion, to which Ash reacted with a grunt.]

Ugh...

[Once he recovers, Ash gets himself to sit up and look around.]

...Where are we?

[Lear on the other hand had a far more graceful landing, as he appeared behind them with Hoopa not too far behind. He's taking in their surroundings before approaching Ash and his team.]

Seems we were sent outside of the city, thanks to Hoopa.

Hoopa!

[Hoopa chiming in caused Lear to turn his gaze away to really take in his surrounding. It seemed they were out in a well maintained yard near someone's home. Just as he looked over the foundation of the home, and up to the deck his eyes locked onto a man who was out enjoying a cup of coffee.

Realizing they were in someone's yard, Lear immediately turned his attention to Hoopa.]

Hoopa, what did I tell you!? I said in to take us to a field! Not a yard!

[These nice quiet moments in the mornings were so nice. Time for another sip of his coffee-!?

Professor Banyan is taken out of the moment when Ash came crashing into his yard with his Pokemon. He choked, and began coughing with his coffee splattering out from his cup. That grabs his Chikorita's attention as he's sitting up now alert.]

Chikooo!

[He's huffing while rushing to see what the commotion was, while the Professor continued to cough a few more times. Setting his cup down, and instead of rushing down the steps to the yard the Professor immediately hopped over his front deck's railing and out into the yard still barefoot. Once he's caught up to his Chikorita, and made it to the group he couldn't help but express his surprise and alarm.]

Who the heck are ya guys? What's going on here?

[Aw shoot, they're in someone's yard instead? But before he could think about moving Snorlax aside, he takes notice of Banyan's presence. Ash begins looking sheepish at the older man as he rubs the back of his head.]

Sorry... We're just trying to find a good place for my Snorlax to rest in. But Hoopa dropped us off here instead.

[That was sure a man not yet ready for the day just rushing over to them in some shorts and t-shirt. He must be angry suddenly having uninvited guests on his yard. Might as well make it clear he meant no ill intent.]

I apologize. It wasn't any of our intentions to land on your yard like this. We won't take much of your time, I'll have Hoopa relocate us immediately.

Hoopa!

[His Hoopa chimed while twirling around without a care in the world. Lear's crossing his arms showing his disdain to Hoopa. You cheeky little-]

...uh...huh...

[It was honestly a lot to take in, in a matter of moments. He's glancing between Ash and Lear taking in the difference between the two trainers. He's unable to hide the surprise not just from them suddenly dropping into their yard, but the fact a mythical Pokemon being with them.]

I... ...

[Trailing off his attention moved back to Ash, who seemed clearly distressed, and Snorlax equally unhappy. Immediately his mind moves on to prioritize over Snorlax first as he looked between both Ash and Lear.]

Are any of you hurt? Tell me what happened, and we can worry about the rest later.

No, I'm okay. [He shakes his head.] Y'see...

[Ash then begins to explain the events that occurred before arriving in Banyan's yard, even giving Lear some time to explain as well. While doing so, he often pauses to try to comfort his still agitated Snorlax, groggy and unhappy about its interrupted nap time.]

...And that's pretty much how it happened. We really didn't mean to crash onto your yard like that, mister.

[After explaining their situation to Banyan, Lear noticed another thing: the sky wasn't that color when Hoopa had sent them through the portal. He knew Hoopa wasn't capable of controlling time either, but it didn't feel like they were gone for hours...unless, he had somehow lost track of time?

No, that wasn't possible. Was it?]

In any case, we can move off your premises. We weren't planning on staying.

[He waved his hand casually. Meanwhile his Hoopa was investigating the Chikorita who came rushing over as well. Hi there new friend!]

[The professor listened to the explanation both Ash and Lear had to share. Crossing his arms he glanced over to Snorlax who was still rather grumpy from the looks of it. Before making any other move, he smiled to the two trainers.

Meanwhile his Chikorita was happily greeting Hoopa back. A heartwarming sight really, for the professor.]

Hey now, I'm not here to kick either of you off the lawn. You're more than welcomed to stay here. Plus looks like Snorlax isn't ready to move quite yet. Wait right here, I'll get something that will calm Snorlax down.

[Immediately he's heading back up to his front door, and rushing back with a bag full of Poffins. He'll hold the bag out to Ash.]

Here! Usually some food should calm down a grumpy Snorlax.

[At first, Ash did what he was told to do and stood in place watching Banyan enter into his home, though looking both curious and confused at the same time. He'd even glance at Lear to wonder the other plans to do. But once the older man returned with some poffins on hand, his expression shifts and grins, feeling grateful for the man's generosity.]

Wow! Thanks, mister!!

[But before Ash could even take the bag off of Banyan's hands, Snorlax seemed to have picked up the scent of poffins and quickly grabbed it, immediately consumed everything in it, and then patted its own belly out of satsifaction.]

Snor! Snor!

[Ash just laughs, seeing how easy it is to please the Sleeping Pokemon. And soon enough Snorlax starts yawning before moving itself towards a large shady tree to rest.]

...Oh! Looks like he's finally gonna lay down.

[Both Ash and his Pikachu out a sigh of relief.]

That takes care of Snorlax.

[Lear comments as he watched the grumpy Pokemon settle back to a peaceful sleep. However there was still the linger question of just how much time had passed since they slipped through Hoopa's vortex. It never took this long of a time before...

and the fact they had no way to transport Snorlax without his Pokeball. Shaking his head he'll turn his attention to Banyan.]

Again I will have to extend our sincerest of apologies to you, Mister...

[Trailing off it dawns on Lear that he didn't exactly know who they were speaking to. Aside from the fact this man lived in this house, seemingly. He's glancing over to Ash, and then to Banyan.]

I realize we haven't even exchanged introductions, have we?

I knew that'd take care of yer Snorlax!

[There's a wide grin on Banyan's face as he placed both hands onto his hips.]

Ya probably know already, but when Snorlax wake up the first thing they do is eat so no doubt it was partially grumpy from not having something to eat, and also being woken up from its nap too early!

[He turned to Lear and nodded his head over to him and to Ash.]

Glad the two of ya are doing alright now. I'm Banyan! The Pokemon Professor around these parts. The two of ya don't need to be so apologetic. I don't mind getting any guests. My Chikorita and I were just surprised by how sudden the two of ya appeared, that's all.

[It's then Ash blinks when he hears the professor's name.]

Oh! You're Professor Banyan!?

[His expression shifts, now clearly excited to meet the man he was planning to go visit. His Pikachu, hearing his trainer's excitement got his curiosity piqued and starts climbing onto Ash's shoulder.]

The guy at the Pokemon Center told me you'd tell me more about the Pokemon here! [He then glances as his Pikachu.] Hey buddy, we got to meet the Professor!

Pika!

[...Oh that's right, he should introduce himself too.]

Oh yeah, I'm Ash from Pallet Town! And this is my buddy Pikachu!

Pokemon Professor!?

[Lear was unable to mask his surprise from Banyan's introduction. He's turning to Ash who was excited to meet the man, before turning back to the man who stood before them. Catching him offguard felt like an understatement given the professor's state of dress. Deciding not to draw attention to draw attention to Banyan's state of dress, Lear decided to give his own introduction.]

I am Lear, the King of Pasio! You best remember this!

Hoopa!

[His Hoopa chimed in right after him while twirling and striking a pose next to Lear's side.]

Heh heh, it's nice ta meet all of ya.

[Banyan grinned after hearing the group's introduction.]

Wait a sec, where did you two just say yer from? Pallet Town and Pasio?

[He's looking between the two trainers thoughtfully with a frown on his face. It's then when he glanced at Snorlax once more did he notice the sign that hung around his neck. It was in a language he didn't recognize--or rather, he did recognize it, but he wasn't able to read it.

It wasn't something he took active note of by the also spoke in an accent that was far more common between the drifters, and not fellow Ulternians. There's a small frown on his face as he eyed the two carefully.]

Yer both drifters, ain't cha?

Uh-huh.

[Familiar with the term, Ash nods as he watches Banyan eyeing on him.]

I don't know how we got here either. I was just training my Pokemon for my next match when we were all suddenly brought to Ultern.

[...Not the first time it happened to him though.]

[.... "Drifter". Was that what they called those who were in similar situations as themselves, and many others? He glanced over to Ash, and back to Banyan.]

I myself had thought it was one of Hoopa's pranks when I first arrived here. Yet to my surprise even Hoopa wasn't aware of where we were which is unheard of.

[Banyan gave the two a sympathetic look, before smiling.]

Well then, ulsai! Welcome to Ultern! I hope things haven't been too difficult for the two of ya.

[He then paused to take a look over to Snorlax, and back to the two.]

Y'know, are ya hungry? I was just making some breakfast...if yer both fine with joining me that is!

[Oh wow!!! The professor is inviting them for... breakfast?]

I'd say I'd be down for breakfast, but uh... I just ate earlier this morning. Sorry.

[Even his stomach has its limits.]

[Breakfast did sound nice but like Ash, he too ate earlier. Or at least... he glanced at the sun that's risen higher than it had earlier but still not as high as he was certain it had been when he first saw Ash's Snorlax. Just how much time had past between then?

He crossed his arms frowning to himself. He didn't want to unnecessarily raise concern... that wasn't about to solve anything but only cause more problems that he wasn't quite sure how to handle. With a shake of his head he casually flicked his wrist.]

I will have to decline as well. It would be unhealthy to eat more than necessary.

What, are ya sure?

[Banyan's making a bit of a pout seemingly disappointed at decline. With a sigh he quickly perked up.]

Well, if ya say so. I'm not abouta push it....oh! Before I forget, Ash ya just said ya wanted to know more about the Pokemon here? Then you've come ta the right place! If ya got a Pokedex I can upgrade it for ya in a flash!

[Oh those are the words he's been wanting to hear. That Larson dude was right, Professor Banyan is awesome!]

Yes please!

[Ash then eagerly fishes out his Rotom Phone out of his pocket and offers it to Banyan.]

Here you go, Professor! My Rotom Phone's got a Pokedex function in it. I think Rotom would be happy to get an upgrade too, don't you Rotom?

[His phone immediately makes a cheerful jingle in response.]

Alright, why don't ya two come with me to the lab!

[He'll take Ash's offered Rotom Phone before leading his way over to his front deck. Banyan will pause before turning back around to face Ash.]

Don't ya worry about Snorlax. He can just keep resting in the yard, the others won't bother him there.

[After having said that, he'll continue his way into his home, and straight into his lab with his Chikorita not too far behind him.]

[An enthusiastic Ash nods, accepting the invite as he follows behind Banyan, and expecting Lear to follow along.]

Oh yeah, Lear! [He turns to Lear.] How are things in Pasio after I left? I bet there's more strong trainers visiting there!

[Lear of course wasn't too far behind. While he didn't have a Pokedex, he was curious about the Pokemon professor of this region having worked closely with one in Pasio.

At Ash's question there's a pause, followed by a smirk.]

Of course, things are going smoothly in Pasio thanks to all of the effort that we've been making! There has been some trouble here and there, but nothing that couldn't be settled with a Pokemon Battle or two.

[He won't however mention about Team Rocket stirring up trouble, or anything of the sort. Ash didn't need to worry himself over that trifling detail.]
