By which we mean, she drops into Ultern, narrowly avoiding crashing into the sea by hanging off her overall suspenders from the bowsprit of a boat in Gateway Port.]

[X had been exploring what he could of the island--so hearing Mairin's scream caused alarm bells to go off his head. Immediately rushing to her direction he had sent out his Charizard--Salamè out.]

Help her, Salamè!

[Immediately his Charizard will swoop in and lift Mairin up, and plop her down with ease. X in the mean time will do a quick look around his surroundings trying to spot anyone suspicious or out of place. However, things were calm as the waters below. Nothing, or anyone seemed off.

Deeming things to be safe, X will make his way over to Mairin.]

[For a moment, Mairin's heart skipped a beat at being carried away by a Charizard. The powerful wing beats were familiar, but it wasn't the same one... its trainer is much younger, too, although X also bore some similarity to Alain.

Chespie, meanwhile, had swung out a vine to try and latch onto Mairin's leg, hanging onto her as Charizard carried her to safety.]

[Mairin picked up the rather frazzled Chespin with a smile half-apologetic, half-grateful.]

That was some entrance, huh, Chespie?

[That was Kalosian she spoke alright--which X immediately understood. He turned his gaze from her to his Charizard.]

His name is Salamè.

[He introduced as Salamè gave a snort in greeting. X looked over both Mairin and Chespie noting they weren't hurt anywhere as far as he could tell. Still he felt he should ask Mairin about the situation.]

How did the two of you end up way up there?

Salamè... [What a cool Pokemon! Mairin couldn't help but admire.

At the question, Mairin couldn't help but laugh awkwardly and shrug, Chespie also looking clueless.]

[Well, she was certainly casual about that. He stared before a small, faint smile tugged on his lips.]

At least you and your Pokemon are safe. ...I'm sure you noticed, but we're not in Kalos anymore.

[A-aww, she got him to smile! She blinked, then couldn't help but smile herself. He's cute like Alain can be too.]

Yup, I guess we're far from home, aren't we, Chespie?

[Chespie looked left and right, then nodded.]

Glad we ran into such a good-hearted guy, though! You know, you look like a friend of mine. Maybe you're distant relatives or something...

[She was certainly taking it easy...but maybe that was far better than how he had acted. Far too paranoid, and high strung. At the comment of being "good-hearted", X wasn't so sure about that.

He will however pause at the mention of looking like someone to her. As strange as an encounter it had been, he had met "Calem" but they were far identical to be labeled as distant relatives. So it couldn't have been about him.

X pondered how to respond while thinking of Y's strict rules but...this small information shouldn't hurt, right?]

I don't have any distant relatives that I know of... [Should he apologize-? No, that'd be weird.]

His name is Alain! And I'm Mairin.

[Stepping aside and gesturing to her Chespin with great flourish.]

And this here is Chespie! The most reliable Pokemon in Kalos.

[Definitely not a name he recognized, but it was good to keep it in mind. Just in case he came across anyone by that name, with a Kalosian accent to boot. At Mairin's introductions, he couldn't help but give a smile in return. Really, all of the friendliness he's experienced in Ultern was a breath of fresh air including hers.]

[He'll glance down to Chespie, being reminded of when his Chesnaught had been a Chespin.]

He does look like a reliable partner. It's nice to meet you, Chespie.

Evie the Eevee stares in alarm. "Oh no! I'll get help!" She's pretty sure she can't get the poor girl down by herself.

[Did that Eevee just talk? It's hard for Mairin to tell, since she'd have to lean forward a bit more and try to see between her legs and she definitely, definitely didn't want to move so much, her suspenders snap or slide right off the bowsprit.]

[Evie scampers off and soon returns with a couple of dockworkers to try to help.]

[Chespie kept supporting her with his vines, waiting for help. Both Mairin and Chespie looked enthralled by the speaking Eevee!]

[The dockworkers soon have her down. Evie has remained.]

Ouf! [A sigh of relief. After she thanks the dockworkers, she crouches down to properly meet and thank her little saviour.]

Thank you, little Eevee.

[Chespie also rushes over to meet her, extending a paw.]

[She sits up and extends a paw too.]

Awww, hehe, you're so cute! [Shaking an Eevee's paw is so fun! What a cute, squishy and soft paw-pad...]

[A flailing, yelling human hanging off from a boat is usually enough to get anyone's attention. Kebi stares for a moment in disbelief, then glances around to see if he'd be spotted boarding the ship.

It doesn't look like too many would notice, so he times it so that no one's looking when he does. He then slithers over to where the human was hanging and coils around the bowsprit and over to the human, trying to appear as non-threatening as possible.]

[A snake-like Pokemon? Mairin craned her neck to see and her Chespin flailed a bit and tried to help support Kebi with its Vine Whip... Mairin's hoisted to safety!]

Thank you! Um, you are...?

[Whew... That was... somewhat chaotic. Good thing that Chespin helped him or else it would've been a real struggle. Kebi politely thanks the Chespin for the help and oh look, the human's talking to him. He turns back to the Chespin.]

Er, may I ask what your trainer said? I'm afraid I can't understand humans.

['She's asking your name,' Chespie explained. 'We've never seen a Pokemon like you before!'

Mairin watched curiously as the two Pokemon communicated, trying to make out their words. Chespie's a little easier to understand, but Kebi... completely unfamiliar!]

Ah. I go by the name of Kebi. And I'm a Seviper and part of a guild that assists other Pokemon. May I ask what the name of you and your trainer are?

[Chespie hummed thouhgtfully. 'I've never heard of a guild... but that's really kind of you, Kebi! It's nice to meet you. Is a guild like a pack? Anyway, I'm Chespie! Her name is Mairin,' he said, while gesturing towards her, at which Mairin beamed happily, puffing with pride.]

I'm gonna learn how to Mega Evolve someday, just like Alain!

[Chespie blinked, then sighed in exasperation. 'Humans odn't Mega Evolve, though... only Pokemon do.']
