By which we mean, she drops into Ultern, narrowly avoiding crashing into the sea by hanging off her overall suspenders from the bowsprit of a boat in Gateway Port.]

[Did that Eevee just talk? It's hard for Mairin to tell, since she'd have to lean forward a bit more and try to see between her legs and she definitely, definitely didn't want to move so much, her suspenders snap or slide right off the bowsprit.]

[Evie scampers off and soon returns with a couple of dockworkers to try to help.]

[Chespie kept supporting her with his vines, waiting for help. Both Mairin and Chespie looked enthralled by the speaking Eevee!]

[The dockworkers soon have her down. Evie has remained.]

Are you okay?

Ouf! [A sigh of relief. After she thanks the dockworkers, she crouches down to properly meet and thank her little saviour.]

Thank you, little Eevee.

[Chespie also rushes over to meet her, extending a paw.]

[She sits up and extends a paw too.]

Awww, hehe, you're so cute! [Shaking an Eevee's paw is so fun! What a cute, squishy and soft paw-pad...]

Oh, so Eevee, right?

[It's a little harder for Mairin to tell the names apart!]

Yeah! Radley told me it means Life! I love life, so it fits!

[Her Chespin also agrees. He also asks if Radley's her trainer.]

[But she would have loved anything Radley chose for her.]

Yeah, he is! Team Rocket took me away from him and I'm trying to get back to him!

[Frowning at just the idea of being separated, Mairin and Chespie exchange sad looks, then she hugs her Pokemon tighter. She reaches out again to Eevee, as does Chespie, in case she wants a hug too.]

We hope you'll find him again someday... can you describe what he looks like?

[Evie joins the hugs, happy for comfort.]

He has black hair and green eyes! I haven't seen him since he was 11, though.... I think he's grown-up now....

Black hair, huh? Hmm... [But she hasn't met a black-haired boy with green eyes, only blue or blue-grey...]

Oh, it's been years? [That's even sadder...]

[Mairin couldn't help but tear up, just thinking about being separated from Chespie for years... it was unbearable!]

Is there anything we can do to help? Do you need someone to look after you until you find him again?

Oh, you're so nice! Thank you! I'm already traveling with Ash right now! Maybe you can keep looking for someone with black hair and green eyes named Radley!

[Chespin happily agreed, too, promising to keep an eye out. Both shared happy smiles, then, Mairin reached out to hold Evie.]

Yeah, me too! It's much nicer being with someone!

[Evie beams and wags her tail.]

[Mairin gives Evie a little kiss on both cheeks, before setting her down.]
