[Intro] A Kalosian Professor Appears!

[Drifted into Route 1]

[Being drifted into the Ultern Region seems to be a confusing phenomenon. One moment, Professor Sycamore was in his lab. Then the next thing he knew, he was at the beach standing in front of the sea just as he left to get some coffee at a nearby café. And that's after he noticed that he still has his lab coat on. Well, this isn't the weirdest thing he ever encounters in his life. If anything, finding out where he was transported is the least of his worries.]

[Turnbloom City]

[For some dumb luck reason, Professor Sycamore manages to find his way in Turnbloom City. While he was still wandering around to check out the sites of the city, it doesn't mean he doesn't have time to introduce himself to the locals and other Drifters.]

Why hello! I mean, Ulsai! I was hoping you might recommend me some cafes available here in Turnbloom.

[Otherwise, if you like, you can approach him while he looks around the city.]

[Hang on. Did that Eevee...talk?! That can't be right. Eevee can't talk. Can they? Is he starting to hallucinate from being drifted here?]

Huh? Oh, ulsai.

[It's Attila, in a very conspicious disguise of kimono, straw hat, and geta sandals. It's not even a look that'd be common among Ulternian natives, but he's not trying to pass for one either, his dialect's too different. He's not wearing his usual sunglasses, using just the straw hat to hide his eyes, and his blonde hair's concealed.]

There's a pretty good one in the cafe in the Pokemon Center in Glitterace Town. Haven't got a good look at the cafes here in the city... there's some nice Kalosian and Ulternian fusion cuisine restaurants around, though.

Glad to hear you and Chespie are doing great. How's Alain, by the way? I hope he's doing well with you.

Speaking of which, my name is Augustine Sycamore. I'm a Pokemon Professor researching Mega Evolution.

[You may be forgiven for thinking it's some sort of Pokemon Marching Band with how an assortment of Pokemon are lined up and following behind a young boy. But upon closer inspection, it's just Ash on his usual jog but he's brought some friends (Dragonite, Sceptile, Snivy, Greninja and Quilava) along too!]

[While he's never met Sycamore in person he's heard of the man. Beaming he'll then gesture for Sycamore to follow him.]

They have a nice cafe over in the Pokemon Center here! The barista Larson is nice! Plus it never hurts to know where the Pokemon Center is too!

[At that question, Mairin's smile faded and her eyes gained a troubled look.]

I'm... not so sure anymore, but I hope he's doing okay.

[Oh, that's odd. It's not like Mairin to be in the dumps after the chaos Team Flare left was done. Not to mention her tone of voice when Alain comes up seems a bit grim.]

[Greninja croaks in acknowledgement, though he sounds more reserved than usual. It definitely has been a while, but Ultern isn't exactly one of the places Ash hoped and expected to meet Sycamore again, or anyone for that matter.

While it's nice to see Sycamore's doing well, Ash look less happy and more concerned.]

Professor, how long have you been here? Has anyone told you where you are yet?

[Sycamore hums. That's a good question considering he just found himself on the beach so suddenly.]

You can say I just arrived here. I just left through the door of my lab to take a break at a nearby cafe back in Lumiose City. But when I did, I just found myself right here.

I actually helped do some field research myself. Not a professor or anythin’ fancy like that, I’m more like an overglorified mechanic, but I helped out.

[Not to mention helping him on his Mega Evolution research with the mechanic's Blaziken, but there is no way he will break a promise to keep that a secret.

As for him being suspicious, a bit doubtful considering he didn't hesitate to accept the handshake.]
