[Intro] A Kalosian Professor Appears!

[Drifted into Route 1]

[Being drifted into the Ultern Region seems to be a confusing phenomenon. One moment, Professor Sycamore was in his lab. Then the next thing he knew, he was at the beach standing in front of the sea just as he left to get some coffee at a nearby café. And that's after he noticed that he still has his lab coat on. Well, this isn't the weirdest thing he ever encounters in his life. If anything, finding out where he was transported is the least of his worries.]

[Turnbloom City]

[For some dumb luck reason, Professor Sycamore manages to find his way in Turnbloom City. While he was still wandering around to check out the sites of the city, it doesn't mean he doesn't have time to introduce himself to the locals and other Drifters.]

Why hello! I mean, Ulsai! I was hoping you might recommend me some cafes available here in Turnbloom.

[Otherwise, if you like, you can approach him while he looks around the city.]

Great, I'm sure you'll enjoy it! The cafe reminds me of the one back home in Alola.

[Elio laughed to himself, while thinking of the friendly man back in Alola's cafe.

In any case, the Pokemon Center isn't hard to miss as it's in the center of Turnbloom. The building had a red roof styled after what a traditional Ulternian home would have. At the entrance there was two notable Pokemon Statues placed by either side: one of Ho-Oh, and one of a lion looking Pokemon. It would have resembled Arcanine a little if it weren't for the noticeable lack of stripes, and flowing mane on the statue.

Once there Elio will step right inside, before turning and smiling to Sycamore.]

Right, there's more places you can visit around here! They have a Pokemart on the right hand side--and the cafe is to the left! What else...

[He looked thoughtful until an important question popped up.]

Professor Sycamore...is it okay if I join you for a cup of tea? I'd like to talk to you more especially if you just arrived here.

[Being a cafe enthusiast himself, Sycamore is awed at the sight of the cafe that is conveniently located inside the Pokemon Center. He even wants to try out what they have available there until Elio asks him a question.]

Oh, of course! I'm happy to have some company with me. The more, the better!

Wow, thanks Professor Sycamore!

[Elio beamed while heading straight for the cafe. The cafe space is nice and calming--with plenty of seats for any visitors to sit down and relax for awhile.]

What kind of drink do you like? Their Hibiscus Tea is good...but I prefer their hot Skittolate myself!

[He also sits down once they found a table for two.]

I'm interested to try their Granbulu Mountain coffee, but I wouldn't mind a Hibiscus Tea as well.

Hmm...well leave it to me Professor! If you're interested in their coffee, I'll order you one right now. I haven't had it myself but I'm sure if it's Larson that's making it, it'll be delicious!

[He was about to head to the counter before stopping and turning right back to Sycamore.]

Please, go ahead and take a look at their menu! Something else might catch your eye! I'll be right back, Professor Sycamore!

That would be very nice. It's been a while since I had some coffee.

[Then again, he was trying to get one from the cafe in Lumiose before he was abruptly transported to Ultren.]

Alright, be careful, Elio.

[As he watches the young Alolan boy run to the counter, it didn't take long for him to check out the menu. He does have his eyes on Sugar Doughnuts to match the coffee...]

[It's not long until Elio returns with the drinks on top of a tray, in hand. He'll set it down onto the table before choosing to sit across from Sycamore.]

So, I'm sure you were expecting this question but...did you just recently arrive here in Ultern?

[He takes a brief sip and true to Elio's words, the taste is even better than he expected.]

Yes. I was about to take a break from work in my lab and when I tried to leave, I found myself at the beach outside of the city.

I'm guessing the same thing happened to you, too, huh?

[Elio's taking a moment to take a sip of his Skittolate. Any excuse he can get for a cup of hot chocolate, he's taking it! Setting down his drink, he'll nod.]

Back in Alola, I was on my way to the Battle Tree but just as I was stepping inside I found myself out on the beach of Ultern. Quite a shock, really.

[There's a sheepish laugh.]

But everyone's been nice here! It reminds me a lot about Alola, even.

I'm guessing we have our strange ways of entering Ultren and I'm a bit excited to discover the mysteries surrounding this region.

[Sycamore nods.]

Yeah. It's been a while since I went to a tropical region like Alola and Hoenn. It feels kind of relaxing, away from the bustling city, I mean.

That's what I've gathered while traveling Ultern.

[Elio laughed.]

Ah, that's right. It doesn't have to be now, but over in Route 1, the Pokemon Professor of Ultern lives there. His name's Professor Banyan! He's really friendly and helpful too! If you want to know anything about the Pokemon here, he's your guy!

So I've heard. My friend, Ash told me about him.

I'm planning to meet Professor Banyan as soon as I settled in. We might discuss a lot regarding Ultren, so I might prepare myself for it.

Oh! You've met Ash?

[Elio beamed, clearly happy Sycamore knew about him.]

That's a great idea! Professor Banyan's been really kind and helpful when I first ended up in Ultern. I'm sure the two of you have a lot you can discuss together!

Yes. He visited my lab several times during his journey around the Kalos region. I gave him Froakie who would become his loyal Greninja.

[Sycamore nods.]

That is great to hear. I hope we might discover the mysteries surrounding the Ultren region together.

[Elio perked up at the mention of Froakie.]

That's the pre-evolved form of Greninja, right? I've never seen one in person but I know a lot about Greninja!

[In fact, the very same Greninja was with him. That's so cool he was talking to the very professor, Ash got Greninja from. He'll have to tell Ash all about it next time they meet up.]

Ultern sure is full of mysteries. I'm trying my best to help out how I can, which is collecting data for the Pokedex. It can be tough, but it's fun!

Oh? Do you have a Greninja with you?

[Collecting data for the Pokedex? Sycamore is surprised to hear it for Elio.]

Yes! Maybe you'll recognize him Professor Sycamore. He actually belongs to Ash--but I'm not sure if he's the same Ash you knew or not.

[He'll dig into his bag to pull out Greninja's Pokeball. He'll set it down on to the table.]

[Augustine is surprised. He never expects Ash to give him his Greninja to Elio. Now that he thinks about it, did he even give him his Greninja at all?]

Oh... Well, this is a bit surprising. Are you saying that a different version of Ash gave you Greninja? This might be a big discovery regarding our predicament.
