All over Ultern both the Pokemon and People have yet again set out decorations around the island. It seems they're all buzzing with excitement over the winter festivities this time.

In fact the keen eye just might notice there’s many unique designs, and decorations aligned together. It seemed not just the Ulternians but the drifters who live here have pitched in to put up the festive decor. Everyone was sure getting into the holiday spirit it seems.

Now, what's going on around the rest of the island...?

1. Everywhere, Anywhere...
Whatever you're doing, whoever you're with it's hard not to notice the sense of being watched. Whether you're a Pokemon or a regular person, something, or someone is clearly watching. There just might be sounds of shuffling nearby.

What could it be? Is it time to go snooping, or time to lock all the doors and enjoy some hot chocolate with whoever you're with?

2. Glitterace Town, Pokemon Center
Dr. Unoya, a Pokemon Doctor, is looking like his usual pale, tired self. His eyes however, are sharper than normal with his brows furrowed together. Not a word is uttered by the man as he seems to be glaring at the festive winter decorations that surrounded the Pokemon Center.

He was clearly not in the mood for any holidays with how he stood with his arms crossed. At least it seemed he wasn't sending any visitors away.

[Oh, she noticed that. She frowned a little, but sat down with him anyway, since Ash seemed to like distractions, but Lillie preferred to talk about problems. So, she will, after first indulging Ash.]

Alright, I'll do my best!

[Taking this very seriously, she even ties her hair up!]

[Once he sees that Lillie's ready to start, Ash pulls from the pile a piece of white origami paper with powder blue colored clouds patterned all over it.]

An old lady named Grandma Yui told me that Sun Charms are usually made with bamboo leaves, but she said that what it's made of doesn't matter as long as you put your feelings into it. So here's how it's done!

[Ash proceeds to show Lillie every step in making a Sun Charm, even pausing in between to check on her progress. First, he begins to fold the paper vertically until it becomes a thin strip. Next, he takes both ends of the paper strip and cross them so that it forms a small loop in the middle. Then, he folds one end of the strip and pulls it into the loop until it forms a knot. Finally, he tightens the knot, making sure that one end of the strip is shorter than the other.]

And there you go! You got a Sun Charm!

"So, kind of like tying a ribbon... but not pulled all the way through..."

Lillie watched carefully and tried, but accidentally pulled her knot from the bottom when she should've pulled from the top!

Lillie giggled a bit, holding hers up helplessly, before trying again, this time more successfully! Even if it's still a bit clumsy.

"Do you wear them or hang them up, like a lei?"

Hey it looks pretty good! A lot better than what I did the first time, in fact!

[He points to one of the Sun Charms nearby — it's bright blue yet noticably very, very crumpled.]

Uh... I'm not sure. Grandma Yui only told me to just carry it around with you.

[As Ash is about to continue, he pulls out a small drawstring bag from his backpack.]

Y'see it's like a good luck charm here in Ultern, kinda like the ones you find in those big temples in Kanto and Johto. She says it will ward off evil spirits coming after you.

[He inserts the Sun Charm into the bag, and pulls the strings to close it before tying it into a ribbon.]

By the way, did you know there's a gift-giving event going on? I wanted to give all of my friends something but I wasn't sure what you guys wanted, until I figured I'd make these instead! So...

[And then Ash offers the now wrapped up Sun Charm to Lillie as he slides it over the table towards her side. He's grinning from ear to ear.]

...Here you go! This one's for you!

[Lillie blinked in surprise at the gift, taking it very carefully in her hands.]

This is so... so kind of you!

Then, just you wait, I'll cherish this gift forever...

[She carefully pocketed it, Snowy coming close to sniff at it as she did.]

And I'll be sure to make you a gift too!

[He lets out a sheepish laugh at Lillie's reaction.]

Hehe, I'm just happy to see that you like it!

[At the promise of Lillie getting him a gift, he smiles. Not that she has to make one, Ash thinks to himself, but he does appreciate the thought.]

Aw shucks, that's really nice of you Lillie! I'm looking forward to it then!

I'm doing it because I want to! You're a very important friend to me, you know.

[After that, she added, a touch more softly.]

That's also why I don't want you worry all by yourself. You didn't leave me and... Gladion... alone to deal with my mother, even though it was family business.

That's the spirit of alola, isn't it? So, if you miss someone or... some place, you can talk about it, you know?

[Ah.

Did she catch his worried look from earlier? Welp.

Not that it was a big deal anyway. Besides, he also owes Lillie a lot -- mostly for being a good friend.]

[Since she offered to lend an ear and all, Ash might as well share how he feels to her too.]

I'm not too worried, but... sometimes I can't help but think about everyone else who got drifted here, y'know? Like you, and Iris and Trip, all of our Pokemon, and even Solgaleo too. I bet everyone had something important to do, but instead they ended up in this place instead.

[He was troubled thinking about his friends? That’s so like him… Lillie couldn’t help smiling, both from pity and affection.]
Oh, Ash…

It’s alright. I understand. It’s lonely and it wasn’t planned, but you and our Pokemon are here too, so it’s not like we’ve given up hope!

[Snowy leapt into her arms for a hug and then, Lillie looked determined.]

I wanted to remember everything… I still think that. Even if if wasn’t planned, even if it wasn’t my choice, I’m sure there must be a reason for my being here… so I’ll try to learn all I can from my time here.

[Full determination! Even if she did tear up just a little, thinking of being separated so soon after reuniting with her father—but not a drop spilled. Snowy nuzzled her.]

We’ll get stronger together here, won’t we? That way, it’ll just help us accomplish our dreams, even if we have to put them off a little longer.

[There’s no way of knowing how much longer, exactly, but…]

[He nods. Even if she's not in her "powered up form", it's always admirable in Ash's eyes to see Lillie driven and determined to pull through, no matter the situation they're in.]

You're right. We just gotta keep pressing on together, and things will work out!

[He stands up with both fists pumping towards the sky, also feeling fired up.]

I'm going to train hard with everyone here, and then when I finally get back, I'll battle Leon as promised and show him that we're stronger than before!

[Pikachu hearing this starts to cheer with Ash.]

...What about you Lillie? What are you gonna do to get stronger?
