Suddenly in the midst of a Summer Festival--

There's a distinct sound of waves, and bustling of people nearby.

In the coastal city of Turnbloom the sun is bright and warm, and the scent of the sea wafts through with the cool gentle breeze that makes the glittering pinwheels spin, and the leaves on the palm tree dance.

Today the streets are extra decorated with these cute, colorful and floral shaped pinwheels. It seemed the people who were out in the streets were dressed in colorful summer attire--either casual, or the more traditional yukata. It seemed like with the booths were set out for both food and games for festival of some kind that was currently underway.

Just how did you get here, and why? A mystery, and it seemed the people in the streets didn't seem to notice anything out of the ordinary as they go about enjoying their time out on this bright sunny day.

Serena is more than a little confused about how she got here. One minute she'd been in Hoenn, and the next...well, this place was most certainly not Hoenn.

As such, she ends up walking around a bit, feeling lost. Or rather, she is lost, as she doesn't know much about where she is. There's only one way to become familiar of course, so she might as well cover as much ground as she can.

This is a strange place, after all, so she sets all her Pokemon out to walk with her. As such, you might spy the young girl walking with a Delphox, a Pancham, and a Sylveon.

Ash on the other hand, decided to explore beyond the the festival booths as he wandered around the streets of Turnbloom to familiarize himself with the area. By his side was his Pikachu, who had decided to stretch his legs and walk alongside his Trainer instead of perching on his shoulder. Ash's curious eyes trailed around, spotting shops that are lined at the side of the street and most of them having signs that are written in characters that he's not able to recognize.

He doesn't spot Serena immediately, but his Pikachu on the other hand did pick up the sound of her footsteps and excitedly ran towards her direction.

"Pikachu? Where are you going?"

Pikachu then approached Serena, his tail wagging happily as he began greeting his friends.

"Pikaa! Pikachu!"

Serena froze as she saw the Pikachu approach her, and then smiled when she heard it's voice. It could only be one Pikachu in particular!

"Pikachu!" she cried. "It's really you! Is Ash here...?"

Pikachu nodded in response, and then immediately climbed onto Serena to cuddle as a way of greeting her. It's been a while!

A moment later, Ash who has been following behind his partner, arrived on scene and was surprised to find Pikachu alongside some very familiar faces.

"Serena!" He smiled. "You're here too!"

Ash then grinned and waved at Serena's Pokemon. "You guys as well! It's really been a while!"

Serena looked up, and...her face practically lit up. She smiled as wide as could be, and hurried to meet him in the middle. A bit too excited, aren't ya girl?

"Ash! You really are here!" she said, fondly.

Her Pokemon gave their trainer a knowing look, before crying out to Ash in greeting.

As they're close enough, Pikachu hopped off of Serena's shoulder just to climb over Ash's again. He patted the Mouse Pokemon before shifting his attention to his friend.

"Well, not by choice..." He just laughs. "I guess you just got here in Ultern too huh?"

"That's right," Serena said with a nod. "Though I have no idea how it happened! One minute I'm in Hoenn, and the next..."

"...You're suddenly here." Ash finished her line of thought, "I see."

So not even Serena knew how she got here either. It looked like that's what all his friends had in common. Ash crossed his arms as continued to speak.

"It's the same with me too. I was just training for my next match against Cynthia when all of a sudden... here I am!"

In a way, it's like deja vu for Ash.

"That's right!"

At his next comment, Serena's eyes widened and she gasped. "Oh no! The World Coronation Series! You can't miss that, can you?!"

Ash missing one of the most important battles of his life because he was stuck here...she didn't want that. Neither did Serena, even if it meant she got to see him again.

It's true that his upcoming match was important, and it'd be outright awful if he missed out and possibly get disqualified because he got teleported elsewhere, but...

"Yeah, but you also got Contests to take part in too, don't you? Those are just as important!" Serena was also reaching out towards her dreams after all. "If you're gonna be the best Performer out there, then you can't miss out on them!"

Ash forced a smile, not wanting Serena to worry too much about him.

"So once we figure out how to get back, then I'm sure things will work out!"

Another new arrival? Trip, who was also walking with his Serperior at his side, slightly raised his hand to wave at her.

"New here, I take it?"

Serena's eyes widened. She'd never seen a Serperior before, and honestly, it was impressive. Nevertheless, she focused on the boy in front of her.

"Yes, I am," she said. "What about you?"

[serperiority]

Serperior kept its head high and continued to follow its trainer, not at all bothered by the attention, on the contrary, it was quite used to it! Serperior was very aware it made a striking impression.

"I'm new here too, although with a little help, I'm learning more about this place. From the looks of it, you're from Kalos, right? I'm from the Unova region. The name's Trip."

That striking impression, as it were, earns the attention of Delphox. As Serena's strongest Pokemon, like knows like, it seems.

"I haven't been able to learn much myself," Serena sighed. "And...yes, I'm from Kalos. Though I was in Hoenn before coming here. These are my Pokemon, Delphox, Pancham, and Sylveon!"

The three Pokemon each gave a cry in greeting. Serena smiled.

"It's nice to meet you, Trip."

[… character loves to battle, but the player sure doesn’t, fff]

That was a lot of Pokemon at once, but they greeted him in turn and he acknowledged each one.
“It’s nice to meet you all.”

How readily Delphox returned its gaze deeply impressed Serperior. Trip glanced at his Pokemon partner, then looked back at Serena.
“We’d like to see what you’re capable of… but if you aren’t in top condition, there’s a Pokemon Center here too. You should find a place to stay there too.”

Although Trip still wasn’t sure eating any of the food was safe, but that wasn’t anything he could prove.

Serena blinked. It wasn't everyday she was challenged to a battle. Especially given she was a performer/coordinator, and battling challenges had been phased out of the latter.

"We're in as good condition as possible," she said, reassuringly. "But ah, finding a place to stay is certainly a good idea..."

“Then, for now… there’s a Pokemon Center with free lodging. I saw a few hotels and inns too,” Trip said, watching Serena’s Pokemon as he spoke.

"I think the Pokemon center should be fine," Serena said with a nod. "I stay at them pretty regularly."

She blinked, then smiled sheepishly. "I just realized I never said my name during introductions. I'm Serena."

[serperiority]

“I can show you the way, if you want.”

He looked to Serena and brought out a digital camera and waved it to the side so she could see it.
“Mind if I take photographs of your Pokemon? I’d like to remember my first time meeting Pokemon from Kalos.”

Will photographs taken here even follow him home? Who knows!

"I can usually find my way, but ah, I'd appreciate the help. Harder to get lost that way, right?"

She smiled. "And of course! I'm a Performer and Coordinator, so my Pokémon are used to having their picture taken."

[serperiority]

"Thank you."

He took a couple of snapshots, zooming for a few close-ups, and stepping around for different views.

"... then, I'll show you. For what it's worth, it doesn't look too easy to get lost here," Trip noted, glancing back at the streets. "Unfamiliar, sure, but it's not huge like Lumiose, right?"
