Suddenly in the midst of a Summer Festival--

There's a distinct sound of waves, and bustling of people nearby.

In the coastal city of Turnbloom the sun is bright and warm, and the scent of the sea wafts through with the cool gentle breeze that makes the glittering pinwheels spin, and the leaves on the palm tree dance.

Today the streets are extra decorated with these cute, colorful and floral shaped pinwheels. It seemed the people who were out in the streets were dressed in colorful summer attire--either casual, or the more traditional yukata. It seemed like with the booths were set out for both food and games for festival of some kind that was currently underway.

Just how did you get here, and why? A mystery, and it seemed the people in the streets didn't seem to notice anything out of the ordinary as they go about enjoying their time out on this bright sunny day.

[As he's quietly piecing together her signing, Neil just sort of silently accepts that she'll have to type this one out and is in the middle of pulling out her phone when he replies. It seems to surprise her when he answers, but she chuffs, pleased, as she puts her phone away instead. Still, Neil squints at Tina—what is the getup here—back at the beach, and then back at Tina. She does not like this answer, but she seems more annoyed at the beach than this random guy she's just sort of started hassling.

Noting that he needed a moment, she signs a little slower.] I'm trying to figure out if Sandygast are native to it.

The sign for "Sandygast" is immediately recognizable, to the point where Tina actually smiles at it. There aren't many of those amongst his subjects, but he's fond of them nonetheless.]

Ah, are you concerned? A reasonable reaction. [The indulgence in his tone might sound insulting. It's apparent they have diametrically opposed opinions on the Pokemon in question...]

Unfortunately, I haven't seen any myself. Shall we look for signage on the subject? Known quantities of such creatures are often warned for, aren't they?

[Neil is not particularly difficult to rile up, and the way her face scrunches up in annoyance and she speeds up her signing does plenty to indicate that she is, in fact, a little insulted.] ExCUSE me for trying to make sure my Pokémon don't get eaten alive by sand! [HUFF HUFF POUT!!! but okay looking for signage isn't a bad idea...] Probably, but I'm not stepping foot on that beach until we know for sure.

[She flexes one arm and her Mankey, who had been chilling by her feet, immediately hops up to dangle from it. When she shifts, said Mankey scales up to her shoulders. He's watching Tina with some intense curiosity!]

[DSjdisksdld oh he's being scolded in sign..... Chandelure is too nice to have ever done so, so unfortunately giratina takes away Amusement from the experience rather than Repentance.]

Very well. I shall gladly accompany you. [With a knowing look shot to Mankey he turns to walk sedately on the stretch of grass that separates the beach from the city proper. There are cheerful signs at the beach entrance ahead, but they mostly seem to be about the weather and tides.]

Have you poor experiences with Sandygast in the past?

Not yet, and I am working very hard to keep it that way. [She's squinting suspiciously at all these signs like she's being personally slighted by the lack of blaring "don't go on the sand you will be devoured" alarms. Information about the tides isn't useful!! Tell her about the REAL shit!!!]

I don't even like the beach that much, but Champ does. [She signs out Champ again and then indicates the Mankey on her shoulder with a pointed thumb, and then adds, fingerspelling out her name:] I'm Neil, by the way.

My name is Tina. A pleasure, young Neil and Champ. [Giratina has given up coming up with a better name than "Tina." He's committed to the bit now.] I cannot say I have frequented beaches often, myself.

[they pass another sign... and it says POKEMON WATCH! Gasp!! Have they found it???

POKEMON WATCH... On starry nights Cleffa can be seen populating the beach, as if the star-shaped sand helps them commune with the heavens above. Please give them space to enjoy space!]
