Suddenly in the midst of a Summer Festival--

There's a distinct sound of waves, and bustling of people nearby.
In the coastal city of Turnbloom the sun is bright and warm, and the scent of the sea wafts through with the cool gentle breeze that makes the glittering pinwheels spin, and the leaves on the palm tree dance.
Today the streets are extra decorated with these cute, colorful and floral shaped pinwheels. It seemed the people who were out in the streets were dressed in colorful summer attire--either casual, or the more traditional yukata. It seemed like with the booths were set out for both food and games for festival of some kind that was currently underway.
Just how did you get here, and why? A mystery, and it seemed the people in the streets didn't seem to notice anything out of the ordinary as they go about enjoying their time out on this bright sunny day.

[handling them like a pro, good job, Blue!]
Drat, drat, and double drat! You weren’t supposed to see through his ice king facade so quickly!Serperior shook its head and Trip blinked, then looked down to the ground, realizing he’d made a mistake, but also still a bit wary of the other trainer.
“Serperior was in his pokeball when I first got here.”
Serperior’s tail loosely coiled around Trip, although both still otherwise wore coolly detached expressions.
“I just found myself in the middle of that festival, while they were setting up, with no idea how I got here… you mean you’re new here too? I got your Pokemon’s name, but not yours, by the way. My name’s Trip.”

T o o B a d ."I see. That would make it more obvious things were amiss, huh..."
Her smile stayed nice and warm despite the reception she was getting. They just kept doing sweet things! Such a regal Pokemon wouldn't have been so protective over just anyone. The trust there had to be immense. Sorry to say you'd earned another positive point there, Trip.
"Ha, well! I didn't give it to you yet! I'm Blue. You know Aralia," she patted the Clefable again, who waved much more readily now that her trainer was here. The Phantump in her arm had circled around to float around her shoulders, peeking through her hair at the duo again as Blue tilt her head towards her. "And this is Myrtle. We were just in Kalos yesterday, so this is kind of an unexpected detour, but it's nice to meet both of you."

"It's nice to meet you, Miss Blue."
Serperior gave a small nod of acknowledgement to both Aralia and Myrtle.
It was so cute, peeking through her hair, Trip couldn't help but be excited and reached for his camera again, thinking to ask permission at the last second. Yup, the frosty veneer has all but melted, he's very enthusiastic about photography.
"... can I take Myrtle's picture again?" he asked hopefully. "You don't mind if I take yours, right? ... I've never been to Kalos or Kanto yet, so this is the first time I've met a Clefable or Phantump. I want to remember it."

Oh, she hadn't expected him to warm up so quickly. Good job, Myrtle! Blue couldn't help her smile brightening. "Of course! I don't mind being in it, but we both know who the real star is." She knew who it was too, slipping down behind Blue to play peek-a-boo over her other shoulder. Catch her if you can, Trip!!
"I didn't get a chance to meet a Serperior when we were in Unova, so! A real good encounter for us both."
no subject
With a smile, he took several snapshots, clearly enjoying the little game, before resuming conversation.
“Really? How long were you in Unova?”
Snivy’s one of the Starter Pokemon, so that’s odd! But if thought back to it himself, he hardly ever saw other Serperior too…

"How long..." Blue tapped her chin briefly, looking down at the Clefable for a moment. "Was it two years, Aralia?" The fairy mimicked her trainer with a thoughtful tap to her cheek, nodding with a sing-songy fa~ble.
"We met a few Snivys," she went on as the little ghost swept around the grass-type in a wide circle, "but Serperior sightings were rare! And seeing one isn't the same as getting to say hello, y'know?"
[oof, I think it lost my reply…]
“Hm… as for seeing more Snivy than Serperior, that makes sense,” Trip said as he watched his Serperior. “Serperior are very selective about who they choose to follow. If the trainer isn’t up to their high standards…”
They might just leave.
Serperior kept its head loftily high, but its tail was relaxed and there was nothing aggressive about its posture or expression, its tail didn’t rattle as it would against a legitimate threat, it simply stood proud and reserved. It calmly observed Myrtle studying it.
[and then work ate me]
"You've got something real special then." Best hang on to that, Trip.
Myrtle gently booped the Serperior's snoot, and Blue laughed a bit as she circled back to his first question. "Unova was fun! There were... a lot more monkeys than I expected, to be honest."
[and then work did the same to me :D;;;]
He hadn’t been worthy of it before, of that, he was certain, but he was trying and Serperior stayed by his side regardless.
Myrtle booping it surprised Serperior, who blinked, then swung (very gently and lightly!) its tail as if to half-heartedly swat at Myrtle. Then, it waved its tail around, as if trying to tease it… can you catch it, Myrtle?
Blue’s next answer did take Trip by surprise, but he gave a huff of a laugh.
“Panpour, Pansage, and Pansear, you mean? Did you do the gym challenge while you were there? Of the triplets, Mr. Chili’s the easiest to beat.”
He was on a major losing streak when Trip challenged him, you see…
