Suddenly in the midst of a Summer Festival--

There's a distinct sound of waves, and bustling of people nearby.
In the coastal city of Turnbloom the sun is bright and warm, and the scent of the sea wafts through with the cool gentle breeze that makes the glittering pinwheels spin, and the leaves on the palm tree dance.
Today the streets are extra decorated with these cute, colorful and floral shaped pinwheels. It seemed the people who were out in the streets were dressed in colorful summer attire--either casual, or the more traditional yukata. It seemed like with the booths were set out for both food and games for festival of some kind that was currently underway.
Just how did you get here, and why? A mystery, and it seemed the people in the streets didn't seem to notice anything out of the ordinary as they go about enjoying their time out on this bright sunny day.

"Wait so...Silver? You guys are friends? Not 'rivals'? And we're talking about the red haired guy about...so tall, always scowling, might have stolen a Pokemon or two himself back in the day...that Silver?"
no subject
"Yeah! That's him! I guess we kinda started out as rivals? But then things happened, and I decided he's my friend! He was kinda grumpy about it for a while, but now we're best friends!" Gold explains, and Carn nods along. "Oh, and I dunno what happened in your world, but my Silver never stole any Pokemon." As Gold says this with confidence, Carn glances at him and averts his eyes shiftily.

"Well in that case you don't need to worry about him running into Team Rocket, he's a really strong trainer after all...probably even the strongest between the three of us in my world. Even if someone beats him in a battle he just comes back even harder, right?"
She decides to neglect telling Gold about the secrets she's learned about their close friend in the time she's known him like him being an ex-Rocket or the son of Giovanni. Crys fears this Gold probably couldn't take it.

"Yeah, you're right. Silver is strong..." Gold trails off, frowning. "I know he's strong, I'm not worried he can't defeat them! I just think there's something kind of... off about him and Team Rocket. He acts weird whenever they come up. Like-" Gold shuts his mouth, then shakes his head. No, he's not going to talk about Silver's personal issues with someone he's only just met. "Anyway, I'm just really worried about how he's gonna react to meeting Team Rocket!"
Carn looks at Gold with worry as he speaks, and gently sets his head on Gold's shoulder. Gold absent-mindedly pats his head.

Crys isn't sure how to take this, but she definitely feels for Gold in this moment. It's a side she's never seen out of anyone who is usually so...obnoxious.
no subject
"Yeah, you're right," he says, smiling. "There's nothing I can do."
And then he just... stands there, not knowing what else to do.
no subject
"Everything is gonna be fine, just eat some snacks. Once this festival winds down I'm sure there'll be someone around who can explain things like a mayor or something."
no subject
"Thanks," Gold says, his smile turning more genuine as he looks at the donut. "Yeah, you're right. I guess we should just enjoy the festival for now." Then, a bit hesitantly, he asks, "...Do you have a Pokegear? We could trade numbers, so we can call if we find out anything."
no subject
"Do I have a Pokegear? Of course. Let's exchange numbers."
The Pokedex holder takes out her totally hip totally not a smartphone gizmo from Johto and starts doing the button pressing to get to the contacts page so the two can get their digits traded.
no subject
"What should I write for your name? "Crystal 2" or something?" he asks.
no subject
"I was going to put you in as Gold B, so it's up to you."
no subject
Gold saves the number with a smile and puts his Pokegear away.
"Thanks for the donut and everything! I'm gonna go look around the festival now. I'll call you if anything comes up!"
He waves at Crystal, ready to wander off
and get lost.
