Suddenly in the midst of a Summer Festival--

There's a distinct sound of waves, and bustling of people nearby.

In the coastal city of Turnbloom the sun is bright and warm, and the scent of the sea wafts through with the cool gentle breeze that makes the glittering pinwheels spin, and the leaves on the palm tree dance.

Today the streets are extra decorated with these cute, colorful and floral shaped pinwheels. It seemed the people who were out in the streets were dressed in colorful summer attire--either casual, or the more traditional yukata. It seemed like with the booths were set out for both food and games for festival of some kind that was currently underway.

Just how did you get here, and why? A mystery, and it seemed the people in the streets didn't seem to notice anything out of the ordinary as they go about enjoying their time out on this bright sunny day.

[ Huh! This sure isn't Route 35! In fact, it hardly looks like Johto at all! ... not that he's traveled around Johto much, but still, his point still stands.

Irwin's first instinct is to pick up his PokeGear and phone a friend! Or maybe a stranger that's about to become his friend? Really, whoever or whatever answers his call. (Ring!) Just don't ask how he got your number. (Ring!) Or maybe do? (Ring! Ring! Ring!)

Once some of the initial surprise wears off, he opts to abandon his worries and enjoy himself at the festival. He's even got a yukata on now! ... as well as the cape and bowtie. It's a bit ridiculous. But he's having fun visiting all the stalls and trying all sorts of foods and games.

If he doesn't end up next to you completely by chance, then perhaps you'll notice a small crowd of kids gathered around him as he lives up to the name of his Trainer class and juggles. He's got his Pokeballs in the air, as well as a couple of apples? And a coconut? Seems like he's taking requests... or maybe "challenges" is a better word here. ]

[Can X-Transcievers and PokeGears even connect????? Eh it's fine THE POWER OF SCIENCE IS AMAZING]

...'Lo?

[Jackie does not recognize this phone number, and he's not really at work, so his customer service persona is a bit skewed. Also he's kind of stressed right now??? So his response to Irwin's incoming phone call sounds kinda. Tentative. BUT HE DID IT]

[Neil spends a little while watching from the edge of the crowd, considering. Considering deeply. Thinking so hard.

She has, at least, the courtesy to wait until she kind of catches Irwin's attention. They've made eye contact. She's got mischief in her eyes and a Mankey in her hands.

Oh god she's got a Mankey in her hands.

Oh no he's curled up into a ball, limbs hugged in and tail wrapped around him.

Oh no.

It does not matter if the look Irwin returns to her is one of fear or readiness, because Neil is ready, and as soon as she has made her intentions reasonably clear with that big ol' grin and the wind-up before the pitch, she tosses that Mankey right at Irwin's juggling situation.

GOOD LUCK

[ Listen, Irwin is a juggler by trade with a decent amount of experience under his belt, but there’s a difference between Pokeballs and Pokemon. And on top of that, he’s not a Psychic. He only connects the dots in the few, much too short seconds before the Mankey leaves the girl’s hands.

At least he catches the Mankey. But 60 pounds of pure monkey turns out to be enough to knock the poor juggler off his feet with a wheezy and unintentionally comedic "oof!" as the air's knocked out of him and all his balls drop around him. rip. ]
