Stardust Beach - Traveller

[A rather confused Trip might be found wandering the beach today! It seems he's drifted back in for the first time in a while (not counting his younger self who's been staying at the Professor's place)... well, at least he's already dressed for the beach, with a sun hat, (oversized, hiding nearly half his face) shades, capris, and a breezy (very orange) shirt! But, there's just one little problem...]

... have you seen my Frillish?

Pokemon Center - Takeover

[Nurse Emi was supposed to be off today, wasn't she? Yet, it seems she's come to work anyway! Quite the workaholic, isn't she? ... or is it her? She seems to be acting, well, strange...

She's lazily flung herself, ragdoll-like, as if she isn't quite sure what to do with her limbs, into a seat behind the desk and is rudely bossing around the Pokemon Nurses like a little despot! She didn't have to be here today, why is she being so mean?! Maybe she's not feeling well? It seems like nothing's good enough for her!

She isn't even really doing any work, she's mostly just... drinking jasmine tea. She's been drinking cup after cup of jasmine tea with no end in sight.]

[Not at the beach or the Pokemon Center today? That's alright, a bored and mischievous Ghost type Pokemon could bring chaos and confusion to your home, too! Is that where you left that thing? Wait, who ate those treats you were saving? Are your Pokemon partners or other room mates mad at you and you have no idea why?]

[Evie was getting captivated watching the Water Pulse get so big! But she snapped to and used Swift.]

[Evie's so cute! Trip felt a little bad for how disttacted she got, but it was funny, too. He laughed a little.]
Remember to battle, okay?

[Here comes the Swift! Trip swung an arm out as he ordered:]

Dodge it!

[Frillish flung Water Pulse Evie's way as he quickly swam away from the stars, which swallowed up several stars in their violently churning waves... before finally, the surface of it broke and the water crashed down. A stray star or two weren't caught in it and managed to clip one of Frillish's tentacles, sending him crashing down.]

Frillish!

[Ooh, that hurt... Frillish will prop himself up with an annoyed sound.]

Protect!

[He needed a moment to get back up, so... he spread two tentacles out, shielding himself with a barrier that rippled and shone like water.]

Oh! Yeah!

[Evie leaps away from most of Water Pulse. It gets her a bit and she rolls before stopping and getting up and shaking out the water like a dog might. Then she uses Baby Doll Eyes ... while trying not to get distracted by how pretty Protect looks!]

[Trip laughed a little at seeing Evie stare at the Protect's shine. Maybe they could use her distraction to end the battle more quickly...? Either way, it'll be fun.

Frillish blinked, not seeing the Baby Doll Eyes very well through the rippling shine of Protect, squinting a little at Evie, before trying to look away.

Oops, it might've still had some effect!]

Frillish, Hex!

[Protect disappears! Now, Frillish's eyes glow again and it raises its tentacles while concentrating dark energy above it, and a glowing, staring, red eye appears in the center of it.

It fires rings of energy again! Try and dodge, Evie!]

[Evie does her best to dodge but is hit by one of the rings. She cries out and tumbles.]

Is it over already...?

[Frillish and Trip watched to see if Evie might get back up... but, if she doesn't, no more orders. Frillish started to smile rather smugly, proud of himself!

That's a good enough place to end it, this far from a Pokemon Center, right?]

[But Evie hops back up and uses Swift again!]

[Oh, spoke too soon?!] Dodge it and use Protect! [Many of Frillish's attacks have a slight delay, so, he's not likely to attack when he has a barrage of stars to dodge!

He darts away, as if swimming, to avoid some stars before erecting a shining barrier again to deflect the others!]

[Evie waits for Protect to fade before trying Quick Attack.]

Dodge!
[Frillish could have avoided this easily by going high up in the air, but, the timing... the barrier fading before it fully disappeared, meant he was effectively trapped there, so Evie manages to hit him!

Frillish tumbles to the ground.

Exhausted from all the illusions earlier and the previous hit, and unable to avoid the taking the brunt of this attack as a sitting Ducklett, this was enough to take Frillish down. A very tired Frillish fainted!

Evie won!]

W-whoa...

[What were the odds of that?!]

Good job, Evie! You're even stronger than I thought.

Take a rest, Frillish... you were very busy today, weren't you? [Frillish didn't give much of a reply, just some dazed little sound that wasn't intelligible, really, but he seemed happy enough for the fun challenge. Trip recalled him.]

I guess... it wasn't such a bad idea, after all.

[He wasn't so convinced it'd work, but Evie proved him wrong, unexpectedly.]

[Evie beams happily, tail waving.]

You and Frillish can come to my aunt Eadie's cafe if you'd like to sometime!

[She's strange, but she fits right in with Ulternians, doesn't she?

Trip waves goodbye to her casually.]

Sure, we'll drop by sometime.

I'll tell her all about you!

[She cheerfully sits and waves with a front paw.]
