farawayplace | In midst of a Summer Festival, yet again!

In the coastal city of Turnbloom yet again, the sun is bright and warm--but of course it's not the only place. All over Ultern everyone is enjoying the summer weather. Little by little, Ulternians and long-time Drifters alike have started to put out summer decorations throughout the start of August, which replaced the ones from Tanabata (if any had been left out to begin with).

There's a distinct sound of waves, and bustling of people nearby. Followed with the cool gentle breeze that carried the salty scent of the sea. Things seem to be at peace, as usual--or is it?

After all, there were always new Drifters popping in. Maybe today there just might be some new faces wandering through looking confused. Now's the time to step up and lend a helping hand. Icharibachoude, we're all brothers, as they say in Ultern!

Or heck, just feel free to enjoy the fun festivities filled with food and music.

That is, if you can--as behind the walls of houses in Ultern that day the familiar friendly faces all wake up with a surprise no one's expecting.

[Ed poses with the mask, grinning. His mouth's still visible from under the mask.]

I shoulda worn my yukata, this mask would fit that better!

I dunno, I think it looks cool! The pose is lame though.

...You should probably pay for them already though, I think the seller's glaring at us.

[The seller's got no problem with kids playing around, really, but Ed's just overly sensitive to shopkeepers looking his way after years of shoplifting.]

Oh, you've got a yukata? That's nice.

[He too is grinning under his mask. Lifting the Ho-Oh Mask off, he gave a laugh.]

Heh heh, nothing wrong with having a bit of fun. Anyway, you're right! I better pay up so the guy there don't give us an earful.

[Turning away he'll start talking to the seller while leaning against the stall and putting on his most charming smile. He'll obviously laugh and make a few jokes while reaching for his old fashioned wallet to pay up for the masks.]

Alright, thanks Mister for the masks!

[Giving a parting wave, he'll soon return to Ed's side.]

Where should we check out next, Ed? You lead the way this time!

Yeah, I got a hand-made one from a friend! He's really good with making clothes and stuff. I haven't seen him in a while though... Maybe he's already gone home.

[He'll wait with the mask still on while Etharon's paying, chuckling at the jokes he hears while standing a slight distance away.]

Next up... [Ed frowns slightly.] Hmm, actually, I just remembered I gotta go do something today, and I dunno how long it's gonna take, but maybe we can meet up later? Or we could meet some other day then if I can't make it today. Wanna trade numbers?

[Ed's taking his Pokegear out as he speaks.]

Dang, that's a shame. I hope you'll at least get to see him around again somewhere.

[Etharon will comment. And once the mask transaction is done he'll carefully pull his hat off to place the mask on, and over his face. Now Ed won't be able to really see what sort of face he was making. (Spoilers: an absolutely silly face)]

Well I won't keep you from whatever you gotta do. I can-oh. Numbers? Sure that sounds great! Then we can make plans around what you got going.

[Lifting his mask up, Etharon will move his arm up where he kept his Pokegear attached and pull up his contacts.]

My number is...

[He'll tell Ed his number--and he will notice the number Etharon gave out was the exact same as Kam's.]

Yeah, me too.

[That's the danger of meeting someone in Ultern, you never know if they'll be gone the next day.]

Uh-huh, phones exist so we can do that! That's the convenience of technology!

[Gold just smiles as he inputs the number, even as he notices it's Kam's number. Oh, Etharon, you suspicious little piece of Mareep droppings. Well, he can't save that number twice, so he'll just replace the last digit with a random one and never call this number.]

Got it! And my number is...

[Two can play at that game, so Ed tells him Ken's number instead. Have fun accidentally calling your alternate-universe brother if you ever call this number, buddy! (He doubts Etharon will call.)]

Technology is amazing, right?

[He's grinning wide. Once he inputs what he thinks is Ed's number (he had no reason to doubt him) he'll lower his arm then look back over to Ed.]

Well, I don't wanna keep you from what you need to do. See ya later?

[~~Oh boy alternate universe brother! He'd love that, probably-~~]

Yep, it sure is! [After meeting someone from Hisui, Gold had started to appreciate modern technology with a new eye.]

Yeah, I gotta get going. See ya! [Gold waves and walks off to call Kam (or rather, get bonked by Celebi, turn into a five-year-old, lose track of time and what he was doing, and then finally call Kam the next day)]
