In midst of a Summer Festival, yet again!

In the coastal city of Turnbloom yet again, the sun is bright and warm--but of course it's not the only place. All over Ultern everyone is enjoying the summer weather. Little by little, Ulternians and long-time Drifters alike have started to put out summer decorations throughout the start of August, which replaced the ones from Tanabata (if any had been left out to begin with).

There's a distinct sound of waves, and bustling of people nearby. Followed with the cool gentle breeze that carried the salty scent of the sea. Things seem to be at peace, as usual--or is it?

After all, there were always new Drifters popping in. Maybe today there just might be some new faces wandering through looking confused. Now's the time to step up and lend a helping hand. Icharibachoude, we're all brothers, as they say in Ultern!

Or heck, just feel free to enjoy the fun festivities filled with food and music.

That is, if you can--as behind the walls of houses in Ultern that day the familiar friendly faces all wake up with a surprise no one's expecting.

[Staring? Red too is staring back. Wow, this guy gets him! What a fascinating eye to eye communication!

Of course Hammy is there too, as he emerged from Red's bag. He'll peer giving a curious look.]

Pika?

[red_berry]

[What a nice conversation. Red feels completely at ease staring at this person.

Oh, and a Pikachu too! Red gives Hammy a nod, before digging out a Pokeball.]

Pika.

[And Pika the Pikachu pops out! He's de-aged as well, so he may not be recognizable as the same Pikachu you met before, being a bit smaller with slightly brighter yellow fur, and a lot more nervous to greet a stranger.]

Pi... Pikah!

[monologing]

[Wow, he's got a Pikachu too! Isn't that swell, Hammy? Red looked over to Hammy only to get a face full of Hammy fur as he jumped up onto Red's shoulder. Hammy's waving to both Pikachu and his Red.]

Pika pikachu!

[He'll greet them. Red will turn his attention back too while pointing to Hammy.]

Hammy. ...you?

[He'll then point to Red, because that was the smart thing to do.]

[red_berry]

[Just two kids with Pikachus, hanging around, staring at each other.

Pika stares up from the ground, looking between the two Reds with increasing confusion. He'll wave at Hammy awkwardly when he calls out, though. Red then crouches to pick Pika up in his arms before straighening up to keep looking at other Red, and Hammy too.

He nods at the introduction of Hammy, then points at Pika.]

Pika.

[Because introducing their Pokemon was obviously the first thing to do when meeting a Pokemon Trainer.]

(You should probably introduce yourself too...) [Pika mutters in Pikachu language, sighing.]

Ah... Red. [He says, pointing at himself. He didn't understand what Pika said, but got the gist anyway.]

[monologing]

Nice to meet you, Pika!

[From the way his expression lit up when introduced to Pika, he definitely was happy to know Pika's name. Hammy however will sigh too, shaking his head.

At Red's introduction, he blinked realizing, oh duh! He has to do the same too. Nodding he'll point to himself.]

...me too! Are you new here?

[red_berry]

(Nice to meet you too!) [Pika says.]

[Oh, so this person was also named Red? What a coincidence.

New here... Probably? Whether this was Vermilion City or not, he hadn't been here for long... so Red nods.]

...Where?

[monologing]

[This Red too has no idea what Pika is saying, but he's still sure smiling. Hammy's letting out a happy squeak in response followed by a wave of his paw.]

Ultern!

[Red says with much enthusiasm. Hammy however sighed. Red bls that's not enough--Red stopped, looking thoughtful.]

......it's really far from Kanto.

[red_berry]

[Red nods. Ultern... He's never heard of it. The next sentence has him kind of freezing, though.]

...How far?

[And how can he get back to Vermilion City? He needs to go find the next Gym. Pika looks pretty troubled about being so far from Kanto, too. He's never left Kanto before!]

[monologing]

[How far...? Red's crossing his arms while tilting his head seemingly calculating the distance--]

We're in a faraway place from Kanto.

[Does that answer Red's question??? He wasn't sure but it was better than nothing right? Hammy meanwhile gave his Red a gentle pat for his effort.]

[red_berry]

[A faraway place, huh. That does explain... nothing, but it's enough.]

...Too far.

[His shoulders slump a little in defeat as he comes to that conclusion. It's going to take a long time to get back... Green will get to the next Gym before him. ...Pika pats his trainer awkwardly to comfort him.]

[monologing]

[Oh no! Red frets when noticing the slumped shoulder although in reality he's just raising his hands up as they remain in the air, not really doing anything. There's a frown as his brows scrunched together.]

...you....okay?

[red_berry]

[Red nods automatically, shoulders still slumped.

...He remains slumped like that for a while. Pika frets.]

[monologing]

[Oh...he's not okay. He's moving closer, and closer until he's basically in Red's personal space. Reaching over slowly--he'll place his hand on Red's shoulder.]

It'll be okay. ....you and your Pokemon are together! It's a new adventure here.

[red_berry]

[He looks up when he feels the hand on his shoulder. He... wasn't actually all that discouraged, he just got caught up in his head, thinking about what he should do next, but it'd be embarrassing to admit that now that the other Red's cheering him up. He straightens his back and nods.]

...Mm. Thanks.

[monologing]

[Okay he's doing better, that's good. Red's nodding in response and from the smile on his face it was no doubt clear that he's happy. He still doesn't move away, as it doesn't occur to him to give Red his personal space back. Same for Hammy it seemed as he made no face or stink about it.]

......oh! What were you doing...before?

[He finally spoke up, while tilting his head in a questioning manner.]

[red_berry]

[Personal space? When you grow up with Green Oak you get used to a lack of personal space, so Red is completely unbothered.]

Gym battle. ...We won.

[There's a barely recognizable smile on his lips as he says that.]

[monologing]

[Upon hearing Red's gym victory, he's beaming wide. It was always nice hearing good news like that. In fact there's a small clap from him.]

Mm! ....great news!

Piiika!

[Hammy is also chiming in excitement.]
