In midst of a Summer Festival, yet again!

In the coastal city of Turnbloom yet again, the sun is bright and warm--but of course it's not the only place. All over Ultern everyone is enjoying the summer weather. Little by little, Ulternians and long-time Drifters alike have started to put out summer decorations throughout the start of August, which replaced the ones from Tanabata (if any had been left out to begin with).
There's a distinct sound of waves, and bustling of people nearby. Followed with the cool gentle breeze that carried the salty scent of the sea. Things seem to be at peace, as usual--or is it?
After all, there were always new Drifters popping in. Maybe today there just might be some new faces wandering through looking confused. Now's the time to step up and lend a helping hand. Icharibachoude, we're all brothers, as they say in Ultern!
Or heck, just feel free to enjoy the fun festivities filled with food and music.
That is, if you can--as behind the walls of houses in Ultern that day the familiar friendly faces all wake up with a surprise no one's expecting.
(🌺Ulsai! Happy anniversary everyone, and thank you so much for a whole year of time in Ultern! Please note NPCs will be popping up here and there! But for some reason they’re all different…? For any comments, concerns and questions head on over to the OOC post! Plot with your fellow players there as well!🌺)

Haha! That wasn't what I was exactly worried about, but glad ta know!
[Whoop, his Johtonian accent really coming in thick but Buson undoubtedly already noticed. Yet at the mention of "going back", he's laughing still as if it's part of the joke.]
Naaah, no way people can just get up and leave so easy from this place, right? You almost got me there!
no subject
[He'll select a pokeball and release his Skarmory.]
You recognize this Pokemon, right...?
[Now, another pokeball. This one's a Mawile! Forepaws and jaw still heavily bandaged, although the bandages don't appear to be expertly tied.]
Here's the Pokemon I caught when I went to Hoenn.
no subject
Poor little fella, you must've had some rough battles, huh?
[He's staring at the bandage job, and up at Buson. The fact Mawile was like this was suspect, given the type of people who didn't use or go to a Pokemon Center, but he wasn't about to judge Buson solely on that alone.]
Sooo...no Pokemon Center around these parts, or was the Nurse being strict on ya?
[presumably before Celebi went and fixed things, fff]
Buson notices the stare and slightly narrows his gaze, but the smile's still in place and he shifts his weight to one leg, leaning casually, hands in his pockets.]
It wasn't a battle that got Mawile so beat up. I ain't heartless. Mawile was the lucky one in an accident.
Yeah, y'see... you might wanna take a seat, because if you didn't believe me before... or hey, you could go have a look yourself. There are Pokemon Centers alright, but the closest one... Nurse Emi went and shrunk. A bunch'a people, including some very good friends'a mine, turned into little kids. So I had to make do, 'cause it was either I bandage him myself oooor I let the little girl hugging her dolly do it for me.
Absolutely works for me!
...that's the least surprising thing you've told me.
[He'll mutter before continuing to pull out what he was searching for. A Max Potion, lucky him!]
Here. This works like a charm! [He'll hold the potion up for Buson.] Traveling around doesn't always guarantee a Pokemon Center being nearby after all!
[He's grinning wide again.]
[oof, forgot this thread-let's wrap up and have 'em learn [one of] each other's names or something!]
... huh. You from one of those more dangerous worlds, kid? Or just live a very eventful, Legendary-filled life?
[This seems to be a recurring theme with these Hero Boy look-alikes. He smiles and accepts the potion.]
... thanks. You're a good kid... got a name?
it happens! (I gotta wrap up a lot of threads oops-)
Being a Pokemon Trainer means ya run into all sorta situations people and Pokemon are in. The world's a big place after all.
[He however gave a slight pause at Buson's question. He'll tilt his head realizing something.]
Mister, I don't even know your name! Innit polite to tell people your name first?
[Of course it's followed by a laugh showing he was just teasing. Chris then adjusted the brim of his hat, followed by an equally playful wink, and a grin.]
The name's Gold! Nice to meetcha!
[ain't that always the way... also, this could be fun]
[Buson frowns slightly.]
That name's gonna overlap, though...
[There's more than one Gold here already!]
... you don't got an older brother, do you? [Just out of curiosity.]
the pile of tags I got are never ending oh nooo-- uh oh drama
What'd you mean by overlapping? Is Gold really that common of a name here?
[Which is pretty great for him, honestly. However at Buson's next question Gold stared. His first instinct was to laugh, and his next was for his eyes to narrow. It was clear Gold was now on guard, despite his earlier friendliness.]
Why do you ask?
no subject
Bingo! Buson smirked.]
No special reason...
no subject
Then I got no reason ta talk family with ya.
[He's crossing his arms now and staring dead set at Buson. Yeah, his attitude definitely gave away the answer, he knew but it seemed Buson already knew too so there was no reason to hide the answer anyway. So instead, Gold's stalking right up to Buson leaning right up and sending a sharp look to him.]
Besides! We only just met, don't ya think sharing secrets is something folks do on their third date?
[Which is followed with another laugh, and a mirthful look from Gold as he playfully pushed at Buson--while he's doing so he's absolutely reverse pickpocketing the man by slipping the cash back into Buson's pocket.]
Anyway! If you're his friend or something maybe try starting off with that next time, okay?
[1/2; after one joke with unfortunate implications... Asian politeness battle, go!]
Buson looks immediately repulsed and flinches instinctively, even if he's in no way intimidated by a mere child, the insinuation is nauseating and distasteful. He hates it and looks both flustered and furious as the boy laughs.
While the boy's right that he knows (some iteration of) his brother, Buson has no time to respond, still on guard from the last incident, his hand immediately flies to catch the boy's wrist as he drew it back and—Buson's fury vanished at record speed to find the boy's hand... empty?]
... did you just give me the money back?
no subject
Annoyed, he pushed it back to Gold.]
Take it.
Chris at the end of the day, still a kid-
Not-uh! Not having it!
[Guess who's pushing the money back at Buson with his free hand? This kid.]
Besides! Instead of throwing your money at some kid who's already fed, why not spend it on your Pokemon who's gonna need it more than me?
[a-awww]
Alright. Thanks.
But I owe you one.
C'mon, Mawile. [He turns, tapping Mawile's back as he walks, Mawile following quietly and closely, after giving Gold a bow in gratitude.]
no subject
[Gold beamed while waving the two off. He'll wait until Buson's out of his line of sight to immediately turn and run as fast as he can into the opposite direction to disappear into the crowd. No way in heck was he planning on running into this guy ever again! EVER.]
