Arrival, Part 1

Anyone walking out on Stardust Beach might be surprised to see someone new, a young man with brown hair lying facedown in the sand, groaning. A Carnivine hovers over him worriedly, drifting back and forth in what looks like the equivalent of pacing. Finally, he turns over, looking up at her.

"Ugh, Macy...where are we?"

"Vine..." She sounds just as confused as he is.

Arrival, Part 2

Meanwhile, Turnbloom Gym now has a young teen hanging around outside, face pressed against the glass as they observe the gym interior. They're holding a carved walking stick that seems way too tall for them. After a bit, they try to wave down a passerby.

"Hey! Do you know where we are? And have you seen my dad?"

"Unfortunately," Alice says with a shake of her head, "this place isn't always settled down. Though things are generally peaceful, you'll still see a few strange things. At least it isn't dangerous yet."

"Yeah, it does get kind of scary sometimes," Evie says. "But not too many times!"

"Well, that's a relief, I suppose," says Nathaniel.

"Scary how?" asks Brinda, head tilted curiously.

Given this predates the Malamar incident, Alice looks brighter when she mulls this over.

"Nothing too dangerous has happened yet, but sometimes you'll find strange phenomena coming through a portal and then leaving after a day or two."

"One time something happened making the Pokemon get really big!" Evie says. "I didn't want to be big, so I hid! I was afraid I'd hurt someone."

The mention of "Pokemon getting really big" actually gets him to freeze up for a moment. "And-you don't know what caused it? Did they change in any way other than growing larger?"

"Oh, it was a sudden influx of Galar particles from a Pokémon drifting in. But it was solved within a few days when it returned to where it came from. Powerful Pokémon stopping by for only a day or a few seems to be a trend, though I haven't catalogued everything I need to try and study it yet."

She will, but it'll take a few months, given this thread was back in August.

"I think they just got big, but that was scary anyway," Evie says. "I wonder how the visiting Pokemon can leave when they want to...."

When Alice mentions "Galar," Nathaniel relaxes slightly. So it's probably not the same phenomenon as the Zygarde-corrupted Pokemon.

"Has anyone asked them if they leave on purpose?" suggests Brinda. "Maybe there's lots of cases of someone only coming for a while but the more powerful Pokemon are more obvious."

"It's definitely a possibility." Alice hums. "Planeswalking is certainly a rare ability even in worlds that have it, but if anyone could, some of those Pokémon would be expected to."

Evie tilts her head. "Planeswalking?" She pictures walking on an airplane.

"That's a term I've mostly read in fantasy books," notes Nathaniel. "But it means being able to travel between different worlds on their own."

[domeinion]

Alice nods. "It's not something most people can do without specialty equipment, that's for certain, and that's not something that the vast majority even know about. I definitely can't do it."

[radleyslittleevie]

"It sounds so fun!" Evie exclaims. "I could go be with Radley and see everyone here too!"

Nevermind that she still doesn't know where Radley is back home.

"Maybe you'll be the first one to figure it out!" suggests Brinda. Nathaniel thinks that's kind of overly-optimistic, but he doesn't say anything out loud.
