[Alice can be found at the Battle Park, checking everything out and holding some paperwork. She's looking specifically at all of the battle arenas, but if she spots you, she'll wave.]

Ulsai! I'm just working some things out with the venue here, but I thought I'd see what all of the terrain courts were like. What's your favourite?

[Or you can just find her around town, putting up posters and carrying a clipboard.]

Oh, did you hear about the Dome-tide tournament? I've worked it out to host one coming up! It'll be fun, do you want in?


(Alice is setting up for the Dome-tide battle tournament, which will get its own post on or around the 12th. OOC signups are here on the plotting post for anyone who hasn't yet! Brackets and winners will be decided through RNG, and you won't have to play through your battles unless you want to.)

Great! [Alice offers the clipboard out for Red to sign up.] The information's all on here. It sounds like we've got a good amount of people looking forward to it. ...You know, it's kind of funny. My Red back home has a Nidoking. I guess it's one of those variations.

[red_berry]

Red takes the signboard, glances at it quickly, and after absorbing all the information he figures he needs, signs his full name. Red Norman Berry.

"Huh," Red says, looking at Nickie, who shrugs and poses, flexing her arms. Seems she wants to assure everyone that she's stronger than whoever that other Red's Nidoking is. Red nods and hands the signboard back to Alice.

[Alice takes it and laughs a little.] That sounds good to me! If you're that strong, you should have a lot of fun. There are all kinds of trainers here who could easily fill a world-class bracket, don't you think?

[red_berry]

"Really?" Red asks. Huh. Maybe he should've spent more time around people instead of just hanging out with wild Pokemon in the woods. His Pokemon have been getting bored of the lack of proper fights.

Nickie, meanwhile, roars boastfully. She's looking forward to seeing all those strong trainers!

I think so! Of course that isn't everyone who gets drifted here, but compared to the average it does tend to lean higher. And I do love a good tournament, even when it's not Dome-tide. It's how I met a lot of people, actually.

[red_berry]

"Mm. Me too," Red agrees, a slight smile on his lips as he thinks back to the tournaments he's been to, and the people he met in them. Of course, he only really managed to make friends after the tournament, once he'd given them his contact information.

...Now that he thinks about it, he should give Alice his number, or his Pippi handle at least. He digs out his phone.

Oh, phone? Yeah, I did get one of those a little bit after I drifted here!

[She pulls it out; the case is simple, red, and scuffed, with a few stickers meant for Poké Balls haphazardly placed onto it.]

Did you want to exchange numbers? I have to say it's a lot more convenient this way than having to borrow the landline at the gym all the time.

Red nods, the brief smile already off his face, but he's still cheerful. His phonecase is a plain white one with no decorations, though it's scuffed as well.

He never did use phones in those times before texting became common. As a child, Red had an even harder time communicating verbally than now, so the few times he had to phone his mom were painful. Compared to that, smartphones were so much easier. Even sharing his number with Alice was so much more convenient than before.

[Alice transfers her number over with a smile. It puts her name in as Alice Smith, though going deeper into the profile, in one of those sections only PC nerds even look at, the signature reads Alice Sonezaki.]

There! That'll work if you need to get a hold of me and I'm not around town. Or wherever else you might be.

[red_berry]

Red's number transfers with the name Red Berry in both places. He'll have no idea of those hidden sections, though.

"Mm. I'll text." He holds up his phone and waves it jauntily, no expression on his face. Nickie seems to take this as a sign to go and waves with a cheerful roar, then turns to go whether Red's following or not. Red gives one more nod to Alice before turning to follow Nickie.

[Alice waves and looks over the phone. Things are going pretty well so far. One only hopes the tournament itself goes as well.]
