Meet up at the Pokemon Center!

[Today, X can be found in the lobby of the Pokemon Center in Gilterrace Town He's not alone as Coiffe the Quaxly, and Kanga and Li'l Kanga his Kangaskhan family. Kanga seems to be watching over Coiffe who is waddling around them, letting out a few quacks to anyone walking a little too close to them.

X meanwhile had his attention to a magazine he had in hand, barely sparing a glance to anyone approaching. He just might go back to reading what's clearly a travel guide, but he didn't look busy to NOT participate in any conversation someone might be wanting to throw him into.]

From what I gathered, we're not from the same Kalos. Things just might not have been the best where I came from.

[He's doing his best to sound as casual as possible.]

Yeah, maybe. There's still a lot about this place I don't know just yet. It'll give me something to do in the mean time.

[Not from the same Kalos... Well that explains why their experiences differ somehow.]

Did something happen back in the Kalos you're from?

Ash, there's some things better left unsaid. I don't want to keep dragging my past like it's my shadow.

[His eyes sharpen, followed with a frown. Yet, he wasn't angry with Ash. Quite the opposite--he didn't want to upset the other with it.]

Outside of Vaniville, Kalos wasn't a nice place. Let's just leave it at that.

[He's quiet for a moment, staring at the intense look in X's face.]

...Something did happen, huh?

[Well, that's the takeaway he got from him anyway. His brows furrowed.]

I understand. You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to. To be honest, there were terrible things that I had to deal with while in Kalos too, like with Team Flare.

[Having to mention about Team Flare gets him to look sour. But quickly Ash shifts his expression to a more reassured look.]

...But things worked out in the end anyway! And that's what matters!

You had to face them too?

[X's hardened expression drops. As stoic as he could be at times, he wasn't that great at putting a lid on his emotions as he'd like. In fact his eyes stung a little, thinking of someone like Ash also being placed in danger by Team Flare.]

Professor Sycamore mentioned about what Lysandre did to him...and the fact he knew about you, I understood that you two came from a very different Kalos. I just...didn't want you to know about Team Flare, or what they had done if you hadn't crossed paths with them. Nobody deserves that.

[Ash then blinks. Face them... too?]

Ah, I see... That's why you didn't want to talk about it.

[Ash looks away from X and crossed his arms, sounding less enthused than usual. The moments he had to face against Team Flare, against Lysandre... the thought of them only brings contempt and frustration to Ash. And sadness that they couldn't see the error of their ways.]

Those people did a lot of awful things, and even hurt my friends. And Lysandre... I couldn't forget the things he said. And he... even tried to take control of me. Saying I'm the one of the chosen ones or something...

[His frown deepens as he grips onto his arms. That powerful energy that tried to mess with his head, he couldn't forget how painful that was -- a somewhat searing, burning sensation. How it felt like his entire body was trying to fight against it, perhaps from the Aura inside him or the strong connection he formed with his Greninja. He couldn't quite understand it, but...

...He shakes his head. And forces a smile at X's direction.]

That's all in the past now. It's because of them I've learned to care even more about the world I live in. And I wouldn't want anyone to change that.

[There's a visibly pained look on X's face upon hearing the dreaded words of being chosen by Lysandre. He's shaking, as he placed his hand over his mouth feeling sick.

He could hear that Ash had moved on, but for him it had still been so recent. So fresh in his mind, and it still haunted him to a degree.]

Lysandre, he...he really...? That's terrible, I...I'm sor-no, no that doesn't change what he did. How could he...do such a thing? I...!

Pomp pomp!

[It's sudden--but X felt a weight upon his lap once more. He's staring down, with his eyes wide at Coiffe. He had been wrapped up in his thoughts that he hadn't noticed Coiffe had immediately rushed back to him.

Coiffe reached up to pat X in a consoling manner. That earns a weak smile.]

Thanks, Coiffe. I'm okay. Ash, sorry. Apologizing won't change what you had to go through... the fact that Lysandre hurt you that way and justifying it all by calling you one of his chosen ones just... it scared me.

[He doesn't say it, but X couldn't help but wonder just who else Lysandre had harmed in the same exact way he had them.]

[At first, Ash worries about X as he watches his entire body shaking and edges closer if he could do anything to help. But he stops the moment he sees Coiffe moved to comfort his Trainer instead, and Ash relaxes a bit as he lets out a sigh of relief.]

...It was scary, yeah. And it still scares me even today just thinking about it. But I couldn't just stand there and let him have his way. That's why I had to stop him, and fight to protect everyone's future.

[And he clenches one of his fists, wearing a determined look.]

And if anyone stands in the way of that, then I'll keep fighting! Because nothing will ever change if you just give up and do nothing!

[Seemingly satisfied that X seemed calmer, Coiffe stopped patting. He will continue to sit on X's lap, determined to keep X feel safe with his presence.

X meanwhile kept his attention on Ash. He could understand how Ash felt, because at the end of the day he fought too. He fought so Lysandre would stop "stealing" from others so he could "give" only to those he deemed worth.]

I get it. Even if it had been scary, I fought back too. No one should be allowed to take away anyone's future from them.

[It's subconscious but X is reaching to place a hand over his Mega Ring.]

I won't let anyone like Lysandre hurt everyone again.

[Ash nods, he can tell X's resolve is loud and clear. At least he knows there's something they do have in common.

He then adjusts the brim of his cap, composing himself before standing up.]

Phew, all that talk sure made me feel thirsty! I'm gonna go grab a drink. You want anything?

[X glanced up to Ash. A drink did sound nice, and a good excuse to break away from the conversation they just had.]

...

Some water, for Coiffe.

Got it! I'll be right back! Keep X company will you, buddy?

[Ash gives Pikachu a pat on his head before moving away. Pikachu then turns to X and wiggles his ears before moving closer to his side, curiously sniffing at him.]

[Deciding to let Ash have his space, X remained seated. That and it didn't seem like Coiffe wanted to move from his lap. Taking note of Pikachu, there's a faint smile as X held his hand out to him.]

[Pikachu stares at X's hand for a moment, gives it a quick sniff -- he could pick up the scent of various Pokemon from his hand -- and rubs his cheek against it. He might feel a slight tingling buzz on his hand for a bit, but it's just Pikachu's way of saying hello.]

Pika-chuuu!

[After a few minutes, Ash returns with one hand holding a bottle of Fresh Water, and another hand with a can of Lemonade. With a grin, he hands over the bottle at X's direction.]

Here you go!

[X didn't seem to mind the tingling from Pikachu's cheek, after all he's an electric type. A friendly one at that from what he's observed of him thus far. In fact he will reach out with his other hand to Pikachu--the hand with his Mega Ring hanging from his wrist as clear as day.

When Ash returned, he'll move his hands to take a hold of the bottle of water Ash offered.]

Thanks, Ash.

[Unscrewing the cap with ease--while earning Coiffe's attention, X will glance down at him.]

Here, Coiffe.

[He'll tilt the water bottle downward to Coiffe, seemingly without warning.]

[Pikachu lets out a cheerful "chu!" before taking notice of the familiar sight of the Keystone on his Mega Ring. With his paw he pats onto the Keystone, wagging his tail.]

Pika! Pikapi pikapika-chu!

[He's seen this before! Ash has one too!

...Well if only X could understand a word he says.

The moment X pours down water over at Coiffe, Ash stares at the scene looking surprised and dumbstruck.]

Wait, what are you doing?

[Pikachu really was cute, and friendly. A lot like Ash, in a way. Not that he understood what Pikachu was trying to communicate, but X could tell he recognized the Mega Ring.

Coiffe surprisingly seemed happy as X poured water. He's using it to smooth out his "hair" as a result. X doesn't keep the bottle titled down for long, not wanting any access to spill forth. At Ash's question he glanced up to meet his eyes.]

I just realized Coiffe seems to like it when I pour water towards his head. He doesn't like it if I try to wash it, or touch it. He'd rather do it himself. There's still a lot I don't know about Coiffe.

I see! So kind of like taking a shower, huh? Did that feel good, Coiffe?

[As he asks, he bends down to the Quaxly's eye level. But it's then he notices his Pikachu's paw on X's Keystone that his attention quickly shifts.]

Oh hey, that's a Keystone, isn't it? Then that must mean you've got a Pokemon you can Mega Evolve with!

Pommm, pommpp!

[Coiffe responded happily while smoothing his "hair". X, at Ash's question glanced down to his Mega Ring. The fact Pikachu was pawing at it made sense now. He recognized what it was.]

That's right. Have you seen a Key Stone before in Kalos?

[Ash nods.]

I have! And I've met a bunch of Trainers who can Mega Evolve their Pokemon there too! I could tell they're really strong!

Plus not too long ago, I went back there to get my own Key Stone too!

[As proof, Ash pulls out his Mega Gloves from his pocket. The Key Stone on his left glove glimmers from the light coming from the ceiling.]

[Seeing Ash's Mega Glove reminded him of Korrina's. He glanced down, thinking about the other trainers he's met with a Mega Stone and Key Stone.]

The trainers I met who could Mega Evolve their Pokemon were strong too.

[Speaking of which...]

Did you see Professor Sycamore? He's different from the one I've met, but maybe you're familiar with him more than I am?

Oh yeah, I did! I helped him out for a bit after finding out he drifted into this place too.

[Though now he wonders if he's doing alright, but he's hoping the Professor is faring better in his stay.]

Well, he already recognizes me and my Greninja, so I'm pretty sure he's from my world!

[X nodded, showing he was listening to Ash. He'll think back to his first meeting with Sycamore, and without realizing it, there's a smile on his face.]

He seems nice, like the kind of person who would listen to what you have to say.

[The complete opposite to the one Trevor had befriended... at least in X's warped opinion of the man in question.]
