Meet up at the Pokemon Center!

[Today, X can be found in the lobby of the Pokemon Center in Gilterrace Town He's not alone as Coiffe the Quaxly, and Kanga and Li'l Kanga his Kangaskhan family. Kanga seems to be watching over Coiffe who is waddling around them, letting out a few quacks to anyone walking a little too close to them.

X meanwhile had his attention to a magazine he had in hand, barely sparing a glance to anyone approaching. He just might go back to reading what's clearly a travel guide, but he didn't look busy to NOT participate in any conversation someone might be wanting to throw him into.]

[As today is his usual day of wanting to check out the island's Pokemon, he decides to take a stop at the Pokemon Center and grab something to eat while on his excursion. It's then he spots Coiffe that his attention becomes fully affixed to the Quaxly and immediately crouches down to its level.]

Ooh, I haven't seen a Pokemon like you before! Hey, what's your name? Man, your head's so shiny! Can I touch it?

[And because his attention is all on Coiffe that he doesn't notice X yet.]

[Coiffe will make fuss while brushing his wing through his "hair". X, without lifting his attention from the magazine spoke up.]

He's a Quaxly, and his name is Coiffe. I wouldn't touch his hair, he likes it the way it is.

[Upon hearing X's voice, Ash takes a quick glance and perks at the sight of a friend. That's right, they did promise to meet in this very Pokemon Center again.]

X, Ulsai! It's great to see you!

[He flashes a grin before returning his attention to the Duckling Pokemon.]

So you're a Quaxly huh...

[Ash takes out his Rotom Phone for a quick scan on Quaxly's entry, however nothing came up. He blinks, slightly perplexed.]

Huh, my Pokedex doesn't have any data on this little guy.

[X will give a nod in greeting to Ash. It's been a while since he's seen Ash's face.]

My Pokedex doesn't either, but I was told Coiffe is from the Paldea region. That's a neighboring region, close to Kalos.

[He's never really been there, or thought to look into it when he shut himself into his room for years. Yet there was this little Quaxly tilting his head, equally puzzled.]

Oh, so it's from the Paldea region huh? Well that explains it!

[Satisfied with the answer he got, Ash pockets his phone. Well if Quaxly didn't like its hair being touched, he can... reach out and give him a nice scratch underneath its beak.]

The other day I met someone who says she's from the Paldea region too. And with her, she has this huge cool-looking Pokemon called Miraidon!

[Ash raises both his arms just to emphasize its size.]

I've never seen anything like it before! It just makes me think that there's probably more cool-looking and interesting Pokemon in that region!

[Coiffe will happily flap his wings in response. It seems he didn't mind getting scratches under his beak!

Once Ash began talking about another Paldean Pokemon he had X's attention. He's shifting his gaze onto Ash, and away from the magazine he had in his hands.]

I am a little curious too. Paldea is relatively close to Kalos but I've never step foot outside of the region before, at least until now...

Hehe, maybe someday you'll get to visit Paldea. There's more to the world than just Kalos after all! There's so many places you could visit, more people you could meet, and even tons more Pokemon you could find!

[Ash catches X's gaze and flashes a wide grin at him.]

The world's a really big place y'know, X. And if you start seeing the rest of the world, you might gain a lot of experiences that'll help you be a better person than before!

[And this rings true to Ash, the many adventures he had really helped him a lot.]

I guess...but it depends on what I want to do, once I get home first to my friends.

[At least he knew he wasn't going to close himself back into his room again. Not after everything he and his friends fought hard for. He just wished...said friends were next to him, to experience new things together.]

....it might not be such a bad place if a Pokemon like Coiffe came from there.

That sounds good to me!

[Yeah, friends take priority so Ash gets it. He then stands up and decides to take a seat at the empty space next to X, followed by his Pikachu climbing up on the coffee table and calling out to Coiffe play.]

Right? It's kind of exciting to think about! I've always felt that way each time I saw a Pokemon from another region for the first time. Like, the very first Pokemon I've seen that came from Kalos were Alexa's Helioptile and Gogoat, and I was on my way back to Kanto after I finished my journey around Unova.

Oh, you know Alexa too?

[Somehow that was surprising, but maybe it shouldn't be given how Ash had also known Sycamore.

Coiffe meanwhile will look up to Pikachu before hopping up to the seat. He flaps his wings, clearly struggling to get up onto the coffee table. Without a word X will hold his hands out to Coiffe--not to lift him up, but to have Coiffe use his hands as steps to get up onto the table.

X will continued to talk as if nothing happened.]

It sounds like you've experienced a lot as a trainer. I haven't left Kalos before so I don't know what things are like outside of that. Or about the people, but...things are different here. A lot of people talk to me as opposed to Kalos.

Uh-huh! [He nods.] My friends and I met her while on the way, and she even travelled with me all the way to my hometown too!

[The last line that X said however Ash found it curious.]

Really? I managed to talk to a lot of people when I was travelling there. How come?

[Alice opens the door for her little Torchic to hop in and cheep excitedly at everything it sees. When she looks up and notices X, she brightens and approaches him, rummages in her bag, and offers out a boxed lunch.

She's a scientist, not a cook. The rice balls are crumbling and the vegetables are slightly burned. But it's there.]

Glad I found you! For the time you gave me some of your lunch.

[Coiffe noticing Alice and Torchic will wave a wing in greeting. Kanga and her baby does as well. Lifting his gaze from the travel magazine, X blinked.]

Alice...you really didn't have to.

[He's surprised she made him a whole boxed lunch. He'll take it off Alice's hands.]

Sure, I did. It's only fair.

[She smiles as she hands it over. The Torchic toddles over and chirps at Coiffe, and Alice shakes her head.]

I see you got a new friend during that influx, too, didn't you? This one's Peeps -- Red came up with the name when he followed me all the way to town.

[He wasn't going to argue about the lunch, after all she went out of her way to make it (quality aside, he was going to be in a surprise--). He glanced down to Peeps, who Coiffe gave a greeting too.]

This is Coiffe. He's been following me around too... I learned he's a Pokemon from the Paldea region. Yours...Peeps is from Hoenn, right?

Yes, that's where they're usually from. I hear there's an Ulternian variant, too, but I haven't seen those in person yet. Have you been to Hoenn?

[X will shake his head "no".]

I haven't left my home region before but I'm familiar with some Pokemon from Hoenn. Have you been there before?

Not personally. I'm well acquainted with people from there, though. A... friend of mine once had a Torchic.

[closedbond]

[A friend. Did she miss her friend, he wondered?]

Is that why you decided to take Peeps along? Then again...you did say he followed you.

[domeinion]

You know how it is when a Pokémon decides it wants to go with you.

[She sits down and leans over to fluff the Torchic's feathers.]

I couldn't just leave him lost out there, especially since he's technically an invasive species. And he was very excited to have someone to follow.

Yeah, I couldn't leave Coiffe either...

[He glanced over to Coiffe who happily fluffed up his feathers, smiling up to X.]

Hm, I didn't think about that. It makes me wonder just how well Pokemon that drifts in adapt to this place.

There might be a lot of variables to answer that. Suitability to the climate and area, similarities to where they lived before, presence or absence of natural predators or of food they're used to, or failing those, similarities of the local equivalents... But I thought this was probably safer in the end. Where'd you find Coiffe?

[It's too wordy to say all of the time, anyway! It's just fun for a laugh. Mairin will be leaning on the edge of the table, streeetching over on tip-toes, while Chespin hops up and dangles off the edge too, mimicking his trainer!]

[X lifted his gaze from the magazine to acknowledge who spoke to him. At Mairin's "nickname" he stared, before a small smile formed.]

Isn't that a mouthful?

[He questioned, even if he did laugh softly. Coiffe's currently smoothing his "hair" before giving a greeting over to both Mairin and Chespie.]
