THE JOURNEY STARTS TODAY!!!
FRIENDSHIP: Turnbloom City - Battle Park
[It's been many, many weeks ever since the day he drifted into Ultern, and Ash is finally grown accustomed to the region so far. One place he likes frequently visiting to is Battle Park, as he meets many different trainers he could have battles with in order to hone his team's skills. It's a great place for him to kill some time and have fun.
Of course, today is not a day for Pokemon Battles (although he's not about to turn down to any challenge!) as he wants to get to know his newly caught Ulternian Dunsparce better. Behind Ash are his other Pokemon who seem to be either curious or worried about the newcomer.
Ash then crouches down to Dunsparce's level and opens his arms.]
C'mon now buddy, don't be shy! All you gotta do is just say hell-AGH!
[Before Ash could even finish, Dunsparce agressively slams himself against Ash's stomach.]
HSSSSS!!! HSSSSS!!!
[All of Ash's Pokemon are now protesting against Dunsparce's behavior while their Trainer is laying down, dazed, winded and now unsure how to approach this. Come and help him?]
OUTBREAK: Route 3 - Lake Lapis
[Ash picked up on the info that there had been a sudden massive mass outbreak of Pokemon not native to Ultern appearing in the region. According to his source, they said that these Pokemon came from the region of Paldea, a place that Ash has yet to visit. And some of these groups of Paldean Pokemon are confirmed to be sighted in Route 3. With his curiosity piqued, Ash decides to head there in hopes of finding one for himself.
Soon enough, you can find both Ash and Pikachu now hiding quietly behind a bush as they watched a flock of Flamigos hanging out by the lakeshore.]
I wonder what kind of Pokemon these guys are...?
[Ash aims his camera at the Flamigos in order for his Rotom Phone to pull up a Pokedex entry about them. But unfortunately he's not getting anything, leaving the young boy to wonder.]
SURROUNDED: Gilterrace Town
[It's lunch time, and what he's in the mood for today is a sandwich! And of course, there's a sandwich shop in Gilterrace that he's been wanting to check out for a while.
But instead, he and Pikachu found themselves at the sidewalk surrounded by a pack of Fidoughs curiously sniffing and playing with the pair.]
Haha! Stop it, that tickles!
WILDCARD: Wherever in OHRITORI ISLAND
[If you'd like your character to meet up with Ash in some other way, go for it! Ash is happy to strike a conversation, and he's pretty much free to do whatever he likes and go wherever he likes.

friendship
[Is that... a Blastoise with a magnifying glass? It walks up to the Dunsparce having a fit and starts looking it over like it's investigating. Alice follows with a wave.]
Oh, hi, Ash! I see you, uh... made a friend.
no subject
Ow... Hey Alice.
[Despite the pain, Ash manages to sit back up. His Pikachu seeing that Ash is conscious decides to move away from the crowd and stand next to him, wanting to make sure he's alright.]
Yeah, this is Dunsparce. I caught this little fella some time ago while at Route 3. But I didn't think Ulternian Dunsparce would be this aggressive!
no subject
[The Blastoise, apparently the one being addressed, sniffs the air and studies the Dunsparce through the magnifying glass.]
We had to bail somebody out the other day who was being chased by one. They seem to be extremely territorial. I wonder if it's an innate trait of the regional variation? I do hope you can come to an understanding, though. My first Pokémon gave us some problems, too...
no subject
Hehe, sounds like when I first met Pikachu. So I totally get it.
[He then gets back on his feet and grins. Looks like he's fully recovered from the hit.]
Well no matter what, I'll find a way to get through Dunsparce! And we'll be best friends before you know it!
[His Dunsparce loudly screeches in protest.]
no subject
[She laughs and pats her Blastoise's shell; for his part, he's not going to pick a fight with the Dunsparce unless it starts one. Like his trainer, he seems more interested in observing new things.]
You never know, maybe you will! You seem to have the dedication. Then again, without that, you wouldn't make it as a travelling trainer, and you seem to be doing just fine with that.
no subject
[And of course, he will become a Pokemon Master! Even if he's stuck here in Ultern!]
no subject
After all, they say, in exchange for everything they put you through, the Voices will make you a Champion.
She shakes the thought out of her head.]
You're right about that! And any Pokémon Master's been through their share of adventures, statistically, so coming to a place like this can only help in that regard, can't it? That's what I would presume. Not sure about getting tackled by angry Dunsparce, but everything does have its pitfalls.
no subject
"Nothing is wasted on a journey for everyone." That's what one of Kanto's Elite Four told me once. That's why I've been taking in all the sights and sounds around me, with my Pokemon too.
[He looks at his Pokemon team with fondness in his eyes, although they're in the middle of watching over Dunsparce who's decided to slither away from the Blastoise.]
no subject
That does sound nice. And there's plenty to see out here! I love studying everything I come across. Though my specialty is cataloguing Pokémon species -- it was hard not to in my situation!
[I mean, you've seen her team. Even Shellock, who looks normal at a glance, has differently-shaped pipes coming from his shell than most Blastoise do.]
FRIENDSHIP FRIENDSHIP
Dunsparce! Mijita, plea-huh!?
[He's unable to hide his surprise as he rushed over to Ash's side.]
Are you alright?!
no subject
But instead he just stares.]
Hsss?
[Ash is still reeling from the pain, but he manages to get up despite that. He then starts rubbing over his sore stomach.]
Augh... I think so...
no subject
[Manzana's Dunsparce stopped while giving a questioning look to the other Dunsparce. She's slithering closer and flicking out her tongue in a gesture of curiosity. While she seemed distracted, it was enough for Manzana to kneel down next to Ash. He's reaching out to place a hand on him with a look of worry.]
Does your stomach hurt? Were you bitten anywhere? You may feel fine now but if you've been bitten you should get it looked at right away.
no subject
Ahaha, yeah I'm fine no worries. Just got a really good taste of Dunsparce's Headbutt.
[Ash rubs his stomach for a moment before taking Manzana's hand and getting himself back on his feet. His Pokemon, now looking at Ash, all express their relief.]
Thanks, mister.
no subject
I'm so glad you weren't poisoned...but it must have hurt still being hit like that. Dunsparce can be aggressive, and they seem to prefer their own personal space so do be careful young man.
[Manzana couldn't help express his concern. All the while, he turned his attention over to their Dunsparces, finally noting what was going on.]
Are...are they getting along?
no subject
[He was sure he had given Dunsparce enough personal space from the time they've been together since the Land Snake Pokemon's capture. However, Ash really wanted to get to know Dunsparce a bit more. But any attempts to make amends were met with only Dunsparce's aggressive tackles.
When Manzana took notice of their Pokemon's behavior, Ash shifts his attention as he watches his Dunsparce inching closer towards Manzana's Dunsparce, and then rubbing his head against hers.]
Oh wow, I think they are!
[Without thinking, Ash eagerly approaches the two Land Snake Pokemon as he grins at them.]
I'm so happy for you Dunsparce! You got to meet a new friend!
no subject
[He trailed over to see Dunsparce rubbing his head against his Dunsparce who was more than happy to return the gesture. A, when two landsnake love each other a wholesome sight to behold.
Although when Ash came close, Manzana's Dunsparce sent a sharp glare in Ash's direction.]
SSS!
A-ah! Chiquita! It's okay, it's okay! He doesn't mean any harm!
[Manzana waved both of his hands which had his Dunsparce move her gaze away from Ash to Manzana. The glare is present, and she's clearly rumbling in anger but remained in place. W...was it safe? Manzana sent a glance over Ash's direction.]
Why don't we give them a little bit of a space?
no subject
Aah, I wish I knew how to get my Dunsparce to open up. I really want the two of us to get along.
no subject
...of course! Why hadn't I thought of it before? Here!
[Manzana will dig into his bag before producing a neatly wrapped sandwich to Ash.]
Have you considered going out and having a picnic with your Pokemon? A nice meal together always helps bring a Pokemon closer to you.
no subject
And as curious as he is, he definitely wants to get to the bottom of this.]
Er, if I may... Is there something bothering you?
no subject
Back off! I'm in a really bad mood!!
no subject
[Please don't make Kebi defend himself, Please don't make Kebi defend himself...]
no subject
As if! I don't need your help! I don't need anyone's help!
[Just as both Kebi and Dunsparce continue to converse, Ash (now recovered from the hit) decides to move next to the Seviper as he watches his Pokemon with concern.]
I hope you could get through to him right now, Seviper. Because I wish I knew what Dunsparce's deal is.
[But Dunsparce just backs away further in response, glaring daggers at Ash.]
no subject
Apologies, he doesn't understand our language. And I'm not trying to force help on you. I know you don't need help, but wanting help is okay.
Please, you can put your trust in me if you want to. I'm part of a guild that helps others.
[Kebi fetches out a small yet elaborate guild pin from his carry bag and balances it on his tailblade.]
no subject
Dunsparce seeing that Ash's view is blocked, his attention is now solely focused on Kebi. He flickers his tongue in caution as his eyes trail towards the pin.]
You talk funny. I don't like it.
no subject
If it's about my accent, I actually come from Ilaan. If it isn't... I'm merely trying to be polite.
Ilaan's not a place with too many humans. In fact, the majority of Pokemon there are wild.
