[So, primarily because Trip can be still be unexpectedly timid sometimes Trip's not keen on the idea of calling into a radio show, he's going to try and mention Ken instead... except he doesn't know his username either, so. It seems he'll have to ask around...]

Second Post

[The question's also one others might have answers too, so he'll make two posts about it, shortly after one another! They're public peep Pippi posts, so everyone else can see them too!]

T. @(ghostprince) posted: Do any of you other drifted have an Ultern in your world? Or a similar place, even if it's not called by the same name?

[The (very new and nearly empty?) account's not very helpful in identifying him, the profile picture is scenery, although Serperior's silhouette might vaguely be recognizable in it, the location is "who wants to know?" and the bio is just a link to his Mimmeo... it might look suspicious or creepy, but it's rather unintentional!
He's just keeping a low profile and not really much of a Pippi user. His linked Mimmeo is definitely more active, although there's long stretches of inactivity (whenever he gets drifted home—two images are years apart, both during Tanabata? One at the festival proper, another aa cafe, enjoying a meal with a Yamask, it seems...), but it dates back at least three years, and has lots of photographs he's taken, although none are of himself. Just scenery, Pokemon (his own Unovan Pokemon and Ulternian ones he's seen, wild and trained), and quite a few of cafe desserts, and, more recently, and clumsy/modest attempts at cooking.]

DJ Ken@(chura_radio_ken) replied: Plenty of them! Seems there's Pokemon living there that are rare to see in the mainland Nihon Region! But if you're curious if there are similar Pokemon as Ultern, then the answer is yes! A lot of Pokemon that are considered Ulternian here also live in both Nihon and the Southwest Islands. However, many species have different names in my world!

In name only! They look the same, however, there are some tales of Pokemon in Ultern that don't exist in Nihon. For example, the belief that Cubburn can sense the good and evil in people's hearts is well-known in Ultern, but unheard of in Nihon! It's unknown whether that's a difference in the Pokemon themselves or the culture around them, but isn't that fascinating?
But, on a related note, Ulternian variants of some Pokemon are the normal "Nihonese" versions of the Pokemon in my world! As an example, Ledyba are normally green in my world, but in this world that variant is considered an Ulternian Ledyba!

Ken's had to explain these same concepts many times, but he doesn't mind it at all. Sharing Pokemon facts is one of his favorite things, and he even gets paid to do it on radio!]

This person sure loved to talk, no wonder he gets along with that Pokemon Facts person... Trip both really loves the facts, but also, feels a little tired out from all the text! This guy must go over the character limit a lot, huh?

That's a really great shot! Yeah, in my world, they're red. They're mostly found in Johto, but, as those islands I mentioned have Pokemon from other regions too.. they can be found there too! Ours aren't a special colour or look particularly different from Johto's, so they don't have a special name...

[Oh, but, that's interesting, for Ulternian Pokemon to have a name means having other regional forms to compare it to, doesn't it? Did they acquire that name only after seeing drifted Ledyba?]

[Technically, Ken would've been born in the late 80's in his world, so you could say that! But he also just prefers the old-school emoticons and technology even after adjusting to this world.

Well, it's not like Ken's ruling out the idea that it's true! Maybe Flambear in his world also have that ability but the stories about it aren't as well known, or maybe Cubburn have that ability while Flambear don't!

...Ken does go over character limit sometimes, yeah...]

I wonder why the uncommon ones were named after Ultern...

DJ Ken@(chura_radio_ken) replied: Ah, no, the green ones are more common in Ultern! I meant they're more common in rest of the world. The green Ledyba were named after Ultern because drifters called them that!

[...That brings a good point, though. Since Ultern is so isolated and you can't leave it, people of Ultern might just assume the rest of the world has red Ledyba because everyone visiting seems to know Ledyba are red. But is there even a world outside Ultern, or do Ulternians just assume the rest of the world is there and resembles the worlds people drift from?

...Is there any proof anything outside of Ultern exists in this world?

Ken leans back in his chair and stares at his ceiling for a long moment.]

[...That is a very personal question, yeah. Why would this person be asking that? Does he know a Gold? Well, Ken has mentioned his brother in passing in his shows, so it's not a secret, but it does kind of feel odd to be suddenly asked about it. Still, it isn't a secret, so...]

[Huh, come to think of it, Gold hasn't contacted Ken at all since he returned to Ultern. Maybe he should let him know he's back.

And maybe he should do it in the most chaotic way possible.

A split-second evil grin is all the warning you get, Trip, before Gold snatches your phone and runs off with it while typing.]

[Trip's initially too stunned to react, as Gold swipes his phone and makes a run for it, but he's sokn jumping to his feet (falling off balance briefly, his back fortunately only hitting the bed), before giving chase!]

[Gold ducks under the table and tries to quickly type his message and send it, but he's still unfamiliar with smartphones so it takes a bit of searching. He's distracted enough Trip might just be able to catch him...]

He can't quite fit under there, not even bending down and swiping at him (why are his legs the only thing that seem to grow?!), so for a moment, he seems to give up, just standing there, thinking about how he'll have to actually crawl on the floor or, at least, get on top of the chair, then flatten himself to squeeze under the table—oh, but what's this? Gold stopped fleeing? He's just typing away?]

[Trip smirked, quietly leaned closer, while holding his breath so Gold wouldn't hear him, then his hand shot out to try and grab the phone, while the other just tried to catch hold of Gold himself to keep him from fleeing.]

You're never supposed to turn your back on an enemy!

[Gold manages to keep the phone from Trip's reach by sharply leaning to the side, but Trip manages to catch him by the shirt, which makes him lose his balance a little and end up sprawled on his side on the floor, dropping the phone, which slides just a bit too far for him to reach (but doesn't crack, fortunately.)]

Tch... Not so fast! Prepare for my ultimate attack!

[Time to flail about randomly and try to break free! (And also distract Trip from his phone.)

However, in the chaos, he did manage to send a peep. On the screen of the phone lying on the floor, this appears:]

...Brett? That's the nickname that Gold insisted on Ken calling him. Brett is back? And he stole the phone of the person Ken was talking with? What in the world...? Should he even respond to this? Or should he just phone Brett?]
