Playing hide-and-seek, but I don't want to be found

Human

[If you happen to be human, there's a little girl, tightly clutching a plush Teddiursa, watching you very curiously and keenly, as if studying your every move! But, when you turn to look, she hides! It's a little harder in an open space, but surprisingly easy if there's anything for her to crouch behind (she's very small and quiet ~~at least in human form~~, so it's easy to miss her!)...

She does the same sort of thing to the children in Ultern, mostly watching them play, with a rather lonely look, but whenever they try to invite her into their games, she runs away or even climbs up into a tree to get away from them! What an odd child...]

Pokemon

[What's this? A tiny Zigzagoon has drifted in, it seems! It's... a very loud little thing, crying and quite inconsolable! She's tangled up in a ribboned, green dress, half-dragging along the forest floor, the stockings and other articles scattered in the dirt behind her, but all of that is besides the point! She's just going around in circles, wailing!!!

Unless you're N, all her cries are unintelligible, but if you're a Pokemon...

"WAAAAAH!! It's horrible, it's the WORST! This is... the worst thing in the history of ever!!"]

((For maximum variety, the thing she's declaring the worst thing ever will vary between replies—it's totally IC for her to declare multiple things the worst thing ever... she's so young, that these are the worst things she's ever had to deal with (that she can recall!)... but also, yeah, she's a crybaby.))

[Chris of course, will notice he's being watched. He will however have his focus on Taro, his Chikorita as he's holding up a shiny red ball he's bought recently. He's passing the ball between his hands while grinning.]

Are ya ready, Taro?

Chikooo!

[Taro's hopping up and down in excitement! Of course instead of tossing it straight, Chris will pretend to miss by gently tossing the ball over to Serisa's direction. Then in an exaggerated manner Chris will gasp and place his hands onto his cheeks.]

Oh, oops! Silly me, my hand slipped! What am I going to do now? I can't find the ball in this tall grass all on my own!

[When she heard him say "Taro" and speak in the same accent as her brother, Serisa broke into a big, giddy smile!! She bounced on the balls of her feet in excitement!

She gasped when the ball flew her way and hid behind a tree (she didn't want to be caught—it'd be weird to be her brother's Pokemon!!)... oh, but it just rolled to her feet. Rather weak, for one of Chris' tosses.

Oh, oh! He needs her help! She picked up the ball and happily ran over to bring it to him. She didn't mind being seen by Chris, he's family! (... or so thinks!)]

[Aw! It was just another kid all along! And not a certain weird Rocket Man he won't be naming ~~Buson~~. He'll laugh as he squatted down.]

Oh hey! Thanks for getting the ball for me! You're a real life saver!

[She would think it's so funny that he mistook her for Buson!!!

She giggled happily, then hugged him after he got down to her level.]

Kuri!!

[Aw, what a cute little- Kuri? Did she know another someone that looked like him? That must be it...

He'll give her a hug back.]

Yep, yep! That's my name don't wear it out! So what'cha doing out here? You wanna play with Taro and me?

[She nodded eagerly! Of course, she wanted to play!

She smiled at Taro and knelt down to speak with him too!

"Hi, Taro-kun! Let's play! Oh, but where's my other brother? It's more fun if it's he's here too..."]

[She looked around, then frowned a little. She decided to try to ask Chris, reaching ovee to tug on the hem of his hoodie.]

Kuri! Lee? Lee! Lee, Kuri, Leeee!

[She looked around, as if searching for someone, and her voice took on a high-pitched, pleading tone.]

Huh? You can talk to me?

[Taro is genuinely surprised! Although at the mention of another brother he'll tilt his head. Yet it seemed her attention has already gone over to Chris, who'll smile and get down to her eye level.]

What'sa matter? ...Lee? You're looking for someone named Lee?

[She nodded, but didn't understand why Chris didn't know who that was! His brother! She frowned, feeling so frustrated, she started to tear up again. She nodded, even though her lip was wobbling.

At least, it's easier to talk to Taro!]

Uh-huh! I speak Pokemon language better than human... um, do you know where my other brother is? Why doesn't Chris remember Vasily?

[Chris will watch as Serisa looked upset, and turned to Taro. He'll watch the two, quiet.]

[Taro's still surprised she knew Chris's name--his trainer was careful. Never gave out his name like that easily let alone Vasily's-wait, brother? His eyes grew wide while turning to Chris. Chris looked over, puzzled.

Well...looks like he'll have to do the explaining!]

Um, well...it's not that he doesn't remember...but you're far from home, same for Chris. Vasily's aaall the way back in Johto.

Oh... so he's not in Ultern. Poor Chris.

[Serisa looked disappointed, but then, also sorry for Chris, so she turned back to give him a hug and even tried to pat his back (well, she really only reached his legs!) in a comforting gesture.]

[Evie is surprised and also very concerned. She hurries after the Zigzagoon.]

Oh no! What's wrong?

[Serisa briefly stopped crying, tears still gathering in the corners of her eyes, her ears swiveling back to listen to the characteristic sound of an Eevee's footsteps! She looked back at Evie, a little excited to see a familiar Pokemon!

She was going to ask if she was from Johto too, but she was still so upset! She still felt like crying, she wasn't in the mood to talk!

But what was even more surprising, so much so, the Zigzagoon stopped her circling and crying to starr at Evie, utterly astonished, was that she spoke human language, just like she and her father did! But, Serisa couldn't say very many words, so she settled for Pokemon language.

"... can you turn human too?" she asked, not considering that her phrasing gave her away...

Well, Pokemon are more trustworthy than humans, so it's fine! Or at least, Serisa thought so.]

[Evie looks confused.]

No, I'm an Eevee! But I can talk people talk!

[Then she looks fascinated.]

You can be human?

[The Zigzagoon nodded, sniffling a little. She disappeared ino her dress, then, soon, the spiky fur and claws gave away to tan skin and platinum blonde curls. Wiping her cheek, shw felt a smudge of dirt. Her ribbons are lopsided, her dress is stained with the juice of a squished fig, and her stockings have a tear, but, oh, well.

...

[Even so, she continued to talk like a Zigzagoon.

"Lucky! Seri's not good at talking human... I only know some words..."]

[Evie watched in awed amazement and jumped up and down happily.]

Oh, that looks so fun! How do you do it? Is it magic? I know people talk because of magic!

["I don't know... I just always transformed... been this way forever!"

Serisa focused on her fur and claws and tail and ears and sharp teeth untik she changed back!

"I just... focus on how everything feels until it turns real! I don't really know how to say it, but it's like that..."]

[Maybe it is magic! Maybe I am magic!"

Serisq got all happy and excited too, hopping around, until she was trampling her dress again.

Oh, oops...]

[Her ears drooped, as she remembered something, then threw her head back.

"If I'm so magical, how come I can't get my Teddiursa back?!"

Oops, now, she's gone back to crying!

Evie won't pick up on the scent of any Teddiursa, but Serisa's scent is on more than just clothes and her circling path... the scent leads up a bulbous fig tree, and, tangled in the thick vines... a cloth Poke Doll, looking a bit squished.]

I wish I could focus on Radley being here and make it happen!

[Evie was concerned again when Serisa started crying more.]

Teddiursa?

[She looked around and caught sight of the Poke Doll.]

Is that your Teddiursa? I can get it!

["Who's Radley? I can't make people appear... or I'd make my mama and papa and brothers come here...!"

Even more tears rolled down! But, she did look hopefully at Evie.

"R-really? You can really do that?" Serisa sniffled.

Eevee looked like a very small Pokemon! Only a little bigger than her!

Serisa didn't know how to do much more than bite, Growl, and Tackle! And the first might not necessarily count as an attack... ~~she gets things she wants by pleading and making sad faces, but it's not quite Covet or Baby Doll Eyes yet!~~]

Radley is my person! I love him so much! I hope all of our loved ones will come here!

[And she nods happily.]

I can climb! Or maybe I could cut the vines with Swift!

[She sends out pretty stars to carefully cut the vines. She makes sure she doesn't harm the Poke Doll.]

["Your person... he sounds nice! I hope so too..."

Serisa, at least, finally stopped crying and watched Evie.

"I can climb too, but these are a little trickier... and I can't cut the vines!"

She watched Evie send out the stars, which were very pretty, so she watched them with sparkling eyes, but when she saw them cut the vines, she panicked and wanted to grab onto Evie, but settled for just clawing at the ground, freezing with her fur bristling.

"Careful!! My Teddiursaaa—!"]

[Fortunately, Evie's well-aimed Swift cleared the vines that had captured the Poke Doll, cleanly avoiding the plush itself, and Serisa's much-adored Poke Doll fell softly down, Serisa leaping to catch it (gently!) in her jaws, before landing on her feet.

She turned to Evie, beaming, "Fankyuu!"

Evie's going to be showered in nuzzles. Her spiky fur softened a little more now that she was relaxed, although it still scratched and tickled a little!]

He is! He's just wonderful!

[She beams as she frees the Teddiursa and is happy to be nuzzled!]
