A Sinister Harvest!

Once again the season for the Harvesting Bonds festival has arrived. All over the islands people and Pokemon were dressing up in colorful, autumn themed costumes for the occasion.

However the main event, down in Gilterrace Town had yet to be completed. There were still people out still preparing for the upcoming festival. The town was buzzing with activity, as last minute decorations were being made out of pumpkins. There were even a number of people fussing over where to place them among the other decorations that have already been set out.

From the laughter, and smiles from people they were all clearly enjoying their time together. Aside from decorating people could be seen helping out Pokemon into their costumes. A playful wind brushes by--carrying the scent of food throughout the town

A sudden sound that would only be audible enough if things were silent, went off. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, except one of the pumpkins seemingly lit up. Then another, and another, and then more.

"Huh, that's strange? Did someone put something in here?" One of the people in charge could be heard over by the decorations.

"Oh, maybe somebody already lit up one of the lanterns? Kinda early for lights don't ya think?" Another spoke up while walking closer checking out one of the glowing decorations in question.

"K…kyaaah!" Suddenly a scream pierced sharply, causing the festive atmosphere to grow quiet and still. Many eyes turned toward the scene. Before them a Parasol Lady is suddenly surrounded by a group of people holding her in place as a Malamar and a man approach in front of her.

The scene was peculiar, and unsettling as the Parasol Lady's fearful expression gradually grew blank--with her eyes seemingly vacant. An unsettling silence stretched as both the man and Malamar turned.

The man will raise his hand slowly, pointing directly towards them with a smirk on his face.

"Go, my faithful ones. Capture them all."

"What!?" Kiyo lifted his gaze over to Amy and the Malamar. His expression changed into a worried frown as he recognized her face. "That's Amy...one of my neighbors. I don't understand, why would she..."

"Oh, Kiyo." Amy lowered her parasol with a smile. "Great timing, you should come join us and help serve Lord Z, and his Pokemon army. All you have to do is help me stop this Eevee here."

"No way!" Kiyo huffed, while rolling up his bright orange sleeves. "Krowy and I aren't letting anybody hurt any'a my friends!"

"Kraw!" Krowy, his Murkrow flapped his wings. Kiyo beamed wide as he nodded to Eadie, and faced forward. "Krowy--use Thunder Wave!"

Krowy spread out his wings before a zap of electricity will aim straight for any nearby Malamar--paralyzing them, giving Eadie a clear path forward. Kiyo in the meantime will take the moment to move in as well to reach for Kecleon, tugging hard as he could to untangle the scared Pokemon out from Malamar's grip.

Eadie is very pleased to have help. As soon as she sees Kecleon is being helped, she goes at Amy with Take Down.

Amy of course was defenseless against the Take Down. She only really had a parasol as a means to protect herself, as she easily crumpled down. Kiyo frowned while a look of worry flashed on his face. He'll set Kecleon down, and placed a hand onto Kecleon's head.

"You should stay by Amy's side. Watch over her, okay?"

"Okay!" Kecleon nodded before he rushed over to the now unconscious Amy. Kiyo moving his gaze turned to Eadie.

"Miss Eevee, let's go! I bet that Lord Z, or whoever it is Amy mentioned--we can put a stop to this mess!"

"Alright!" Eadie says. "If we can stop him soon enough, Amy should be normal again when she wakes up," she says to Kecleon.

"Really? Please help Amy!" Kecleon spoke up tearfully. From the way he stuck close to his trainer he really cared about Amy.

Kiyo upon seeing the two, his expression softened. He'll then look over to Eadie, nodding his head to her.

"She's right. Just hang tight, Kecleon! We'll be back in a flash!" Kiyo made a fist pump. He'll then dash forward, certain both his Murkrow and Eadie could keep up with him.

"I'm sure," Eadie says with a kind smile.

She hurries after Kiyo, easily keeping up.

Kiyo with Krowy's help as he used Thunderwave to slow down any oncoming Pokemon finally spotted the trainer at the epicenter of the commotion. His track immediately came to a halt as the look of determination slowly drained.

"N...no...it can't be..." he's uttering to himself. "That's...that's Dr. Unoya..."

Krowy too stopped to perch onto Kiyo's shoulders. He'll let out a caw, also recognizing the man with red eyes up ahead. Both the man and Malamar seemed to not notice them yet. In fact he seemed busy giving orders to other people who were busy stacking pumpkins. A seemingly harmless task, admist the chaos.

Eadie stops running and frowns. "Who?"

She should know everything possible about their enemy before launching an attack.

"He's...well..." Kiyo hesitated at first. It was clear he didn't want Eadie to have a negative opinion of the man. Krowy will nudge at Kiyo to encourage him. "He's a Pokemon Doctor who works at this Pokemon Center. He wouldn't do anything to hurt people or Pokemon."

His brows knit together.

"He must be being controlled like Amy! That's gotta be it! If not then...then he wouldn't have helped me...right...?"

"Kraw!" Krowy chimed in agreement.

"Then he's still not the Big Bad," Eadie frowns in confusion. "We need to get to whoever's controlling everyone."

"You're right..." Kiyo frowned with his gaze glancing around. "They haven't noticed us quite yet...do you think maybe we can pretend to be a part of them and sneak closer?"

"It doesn't hurt to try," Eadie says. She tries to casually move closer like she's one of them.

Kiyo nodded as he whispered to his Murkrow.

"Play along Krowy."

"Kraw!" Krowy flapped his wings a little before perching on Kiyo's shoulder. Meanwhile Kiyo did his best to put on a blank expression as he too walked over to the others. It seemed none of them paid them any mind. He quietly felt relieved while daring to send a glance in Dr. Unoya's direction. He didn't recognize that Malamar, and it sure stood closely to him. Something about it made Kiyo uncomfortable, but he couldn't put a finger on as to why.

"You there." Kiyo froze upon hearing a monotoned trainer calling out to him. Kiyo slowly turned to face them.

"Yes what is it?" He hoped he sounded convincing enough.

"Here put this device into the decoration."

They're holding out a strange, metallic device that gave a bright orange glow. He couldn't help but wonder what it was as he reached out for it.

"Yes of course." He of course had zero intentions of listening! Instead he turned away while his heart was pounding a mile a minute. He's daring a glance to Eadie, hoping she had an idea on what to do.

Eadie stares at the device. It must be some kind of brainwashing device. But how to do anything about it with this Trainer close by? She ponders, then goes behind a tree and throws a small rock in another direction, hoping to distract the Trainer into going to check it out.

Eadie's plan is successful as the brainwashed Trainer's attention is diverted. Turning away from Kiyo he's wondering off to investigate the sound. Relieved Kiyo's quick to in trying slip away from the scene with the glowing device. What was this for? Just how many more were there?

Glancing to Krowy he'll quickly hand the device to him before sending him off in Eadie's direction. If push comes to shove he can defend himself with another Pokemon after all!

Eadie is glad that worked. "Let's see if we can find any more of those," she says. "There must be more! And I wonder if there's anyone around we can take them to who can deactivate them...." Or they could just break them, but that would probably be a bad idea without knowing how it works.

"Good idea! It'll be easy for me to move around instead of Kiyo." Krowy spread his wings apart. "The trainer wanted Kiyo to put this inside a pumpkin decorations... so maybe we should take a look around the nearby ones too."

"Good idea," Eadie says, and moves over to some other decorations. She tries to go cautiously, not wanting to get brainwashed herself by another device.

Krowy too will move over to examine one of the nearby pumpkins. He'll pretend to be minding his own business by perching on top and glancing around as if on guard. When no one seemed to be paying any mind to him he'll peer into the decoration. There was an odd ticking sound, and the device seem to have a timer that's slowly going off. He had no way of knowing what it was really.

Plucking the pumpkin off he'll make his way away with it while quickly hiding behind a tree to drop the pumpkin off. If it was a mind controlling device it was a good idea to keep it away from the others, anyway!

Eadie's ears turn all around at the sound. She doesn't like it one bit.

"Be careful," she says. "It could be a bomb."

Or is it ticking down to when the mind-control function will activate?

"A bomb?" Krowy tilted his head while peering at the pumpkin. It was ticking rather loud! Eadie had a point there. Nodding his head he'll turn to her. "I'll be real careful--but if it gets too dangerous we let Kiyo know too. We can't let him stay in danger. Anyway, it's best we look for more of them!"

"He should know," Eadie agreed. "Let's look for as many as we can, as fast as we can! We probably don't have much time."

She hurried off to resume the search.

"You got it!" Krowy nodded before flapping off to check the other decorations. However as he got too close to one of the pumpkins--one of the brainwashed trainers will turn to him.

"Stop. What are you doing? That is not for you." He spoke while trying to scare Krowy off. That caused Kiyo to stop sending a look of worry. He'll approach while holding his Pokeball out.

"That one is my Pokemon. I will recall it."

"...." the other trainer doesn't respond as their blank gaze moved to Kiyo. Then slowly, the spoke up. "You aren't one of us. Who are you?"

"K...Krowy, quickly!" Kiyo immediately dropping his tactic grabbed the pumpkin before tossing it to his Murkrow.

"No, stop." The hypnotized trainer made a move only to be roughly pushed aside by Kiyo. It seemed the commotion was turning attention over to Kiyo now, leaving Krowy and Eadie undetected for the time being.

Eadie was quick to recognize the opportunity. "Come on, let's go!" she exclaimed. "There's more to collect!"
