Today in Ultern the delicious smell of Petal Cookies may waft throughout! It looks like there's someone out there already practicing for the upcoming Harvesting Bonds Festival by baking a lot of cookies. Like, a lot! So much so they've set up advertising free cookies for all in a variety of colors, flavors and shapes too!

Why not go ahead and take a few? It looks like there's plenty of Ulternians and Drifters alike already enjoying some without any signs of adverse effects anyway-

It takes Trip a moment to parse it, then, he nods eagerly.

"So, you can only say lies... they really are magic! Do you think the, um, cookie seller... giver-away... the cookie person will tell us how they're made? And do you think you're stuck like that forever?"

His excitement dies down into a bit of worry. Maybe he should ask the baker to reverse Gold's, when it isn't fun anymore!

"Yup, I'm probably stuck like this forever!" Gold grins and pats Trip's head to try and comfort him. "I bet it won't go away after a day. That's usually what doesn't happen."

"The cookie giver? Yeah, they probably did this. It's not Ultern magic or whatever." Gold shrugs. He'll wait for Trip to parse what he's saying.

Gold feels certain that this must be caused by Ultern and the cookie giver had nothing to do with it. Is it because he likes people who give him free food on principle, or because of some kind of Ultern magic clouding his judgement? Who knows.

It's a little harder for Trip to understand some of these sentences, but he appreciates the head pat, and he does understand the first part, at least!

"So, it's usually just for one day... that's good."

But the second part is harder to understand.

"It's not? ... it is? ... umm."

Trip has to really think about this one to get it, because he was this close to just blaming the baker!

"Well, okay, if you say so. But if it's still not gone tomorrow, we go find the baker and make him fix it," Trip said, with entirely too innocent a tone for such a vaguely threatening little statement.

Gold blinks at that statement... and then fights to keep a grin off his face. That's adorable! Saying threatening things with a cute voice! Oh, he shouldn't be encouraging this... But he kind of wants to see little Trip threaten a baker...! He's trying to be a good role model, but...!

"How?" he ends up asking, in the end. How would Trip make the baker fix it? Gold will decide on what to do based on the answer.

"Um... umm..."

He looked very, very focused on this, then, continuing in utmost seriousness, Trip said:

"We threaten to sell our socks."

Oh no, it's even harder not to laugh now. Gold doesn't get what that means at all, but Trip is so serious about whatever random thing he just said!

He nods (shakily, from holding in laughter), glad that Trip's not thinking of any actual threats on the baker. Gold didn't really think he would, but with the cookies affecting him, that could've changed.

...Now that he thinks about it, having to lie kind of sucks. He wants to tell Trip it's a good idea, but wouldn't that be a lie? He can't say white lies without Trip probably assuming it's opposite speech. What should he say?

"Doesn't sound fun!" he finally decides to say with a smile and a thumbs-up.
